*SNOOOOOOORE!!!!*

...

...

...

On the highest floor possible that isn’t destroyed, is a large room with 4 walls made completely of glass. The view overlooking the city in all directions.

There is a corner staircase leading down, with a closed door at the bottom.

In the middle of the room, two desks are facing each other.

One workspace is organized and neat. The computer, keyboard, and phone are cleanly wiped. Pens and pencils are placed in a small mesh cup, papers stacked properly and an extra seat cushion in the empty desk chair.

The other desk however...

*SNOOOOOORE!!!*

On the opposite side, facing that clean desk, is a messy, disorganized work space. There are dried spilt coffee stains on a few papers sprawled over the available area. There is an ashtray full of ash and cigarette butts with food crumbs and ash in between the keys to the keyboard for his dust covered computer.

*SNOOOOOOORE*

An old fatter gentleman at the unkempt desk is wearing a security uniform and napping in his large cushioned reading chair, snoring. A pack of cigarettes poking from the top of his shirt’s chest pocket.

The muffled sounds of keys jingling and unlocking the door at the bottom of the stairs can be heard.

A younger man with short red hair, two small golden earrings, and wearing the same security uniform as the sleeping grey bearded man enters with two styrofoam cups of coffee. His steps can be heard as walks up the to the observation room.

He’s talking as he reaches the top step.

Red Hair: "There wasn’t any French Vanilla creamer left, Mr. Dustin, so I just put in-"

*SNOOOOOOORE!!!*

As he reaches the top step it is revealed he is a handsome 25 year old man. He has a right Eyelien and the iris of his left eye is half orange and half blue.

The sound of the loud door closing wakes the sleeping gentleman up, with a snort.

The ol’ watchdog adjusts his glasses over both of his brown eyes and wipes his runny nose with his hand.

Mr. Dustin: "Oh- Oh Peyton, I drifted off for a minute there. Please excuse me."

The young man, Peyton, shakes his head with a smile and hands one of the cups to his elder.

Peyton: "Don’t worry about it, I know how stressful your life is now, ’Grandpa’, haha!

It’s been almost a whole week now, how is your daughter doing after the 20 hours of excruciating child birth?"

The tired grandpa takes the warm cup and nods in appreciation.

Mr. Dustin: "Thank you Peyton, and she’s still recouping.

She is sleeping more hours a day than she is staying awake, but my strong daughter should be fully rested and recovered by tomorrow."

The old man takes the lid off the top of his beverage, steam rising up, and he takes a slurpy sip while his younger colleague takes a seat at his own clean desk.

In continued contrasts of the two coworkers, Peyton keeps his lid on the cup while taking his own careful sip of the hot coffee.

The old man puts the lid back on and places the drink on a (barely) free space on his cluttered desk.

Mr. Dustin then pulls out a cigarette and a lighter also in his wrinkled pocket.

Mr. Dustin: "Yea know Peyton, I am truly blessed."

He lights the cigarette with a drag and places the lighter back in his chest pocket as he exhales.

Peyton(sips): "Aren’t we all, Mr. Dustin?"

Removing his cup’s cover once again, the grandfather grasps his coffee with his free hand, there’s a heart surgery scar on the back of his wrinkled hand.

Mr. Dustin(sips): "One year ago, I thought I would never see my daughter again, after she was taken from me as a pet.

But after Don Laban abolished the ’Master/Pet System’, I was able to reunite with her and find out, she was impregnated by the man who purchased her."

Peyton looks uncomfortable while listening to the old man’s sad tale.

Peyton: "You never told me that part, Old Man! That’s a completely different situation than what I was assuming!

Is she okay with that?

Are you?"

Mr. Dustin looks at his bean juice while lightly swirling it to mix the sugar within.

Mr. Dustin: "She tells me she’s happy, the guy seems genuine, and they swear it was a mutual decision, but the look in her eyes when she told me...

(Sighs)

I’m forced to live with it whether I agree or not, but at this point, what choice do I actually have, Peyton? I’m an out of shape old man, who works as lookout security for the same city that took away my daughter and freedom for an entire year.

But as long as I can see her and my grandbaby everyday, that’s all that matters to me anymore.

I only need to see them smile until the day I finally die Peyton. What more can an old ’leatherback’ like me ask for in his remaining years?

Weehhaahaa!"

Peyton gives a satisfied half smile at the self deprecating coworker then leans back in his chair. He looks at the ceiling tile above him.

Peyton(thinking): *I haven’t had anybody else to worry about since those aliens started destroyed everything.

It’s a business trip that’s turned into 3 years because this chaotic alien infestation happened.

I’m here, while my family is on the complete opposite side of the country.

I’ll always hope, but I’ve coped with the fact I may never see them ever again.*

Peyton takes a deep inhale and sighs with his eyes closed.

After finishing his cooled off coffee and letting out a hot refreshing breath, the old geezer puts out his cigarette then slowly gets up from his squeaky chair with the stereotypical grunts and groans of a worn out body.

The young man across from him watches the past generation shuffle to the trash and toss the cup in.

Mr. Dustin stretches out his back and twists, gaining some flexibility as he barely limps, but with a little more speed towards the small, portable, tripod telescope already set up, pointing out one of the glass walls to the room.

Mr. Dustin: "Welp, l guess it’s time to do the sunset check for the night."

Peyton puts his coffee down and jumps up from his seat. His Eyelien pops off to 2nd Stage, a yellow aura, and he makes his way towards a separate ’window wall’.

Peyton: "How ’bout I take a look too. Might as well do something today, see what’s going on around this ’unique’ city."

The old man, who isn’t connected to Seiõr, is unable to see the shining yellow aura, looks at the changed design of his colleague’s eye.

Mr. Dustin: "Boy, those alien eyes sure are somethin’. My damn back won’t let me swing one of those swords to save my life.

So can all of the other people with those weird eyes use telescopic vision too?"

Peyton chuckles and shakes his head.

Peyton: "As far as I’m aware of, I’m the only one in the city with this power. It’s why I was appointed this lookout job in the first place.

All I have to do is close my left eye and focus on a spot with my right. My vision then starts zooming in and out depending on my mental command as if I was looking through a scope.

Because this is my job, I’ve gotten better at ’locking on’ to what I want to focus on."

Mr. Dustin: "Huh, that’s amazing..."

Mr. Dustin uses his human eye to peek through the lens of his telescope.

Facing the opposite glass wall, Peyton closes his blue and orange human eye and begins to peer over Roronora City with his ’Scope Eye’.

The alien eye user starts his observation by looking down at the base of the building he’s in. Scanning over the automobile and foot traffic of the dusk transitioning city.

People with and without an Eyelien are laughing, talking to each other, and entering customers holding the doors open at stores for the exiting customers.

Drivers allowing pedestrians to cross the street and parents arguing with a tantrum throwing child, right outside of a toy store across the street.

As the sun’s light no longer reaches the active community, the sidewalk’s city lights turn on.

The young redhead smiles at the current normality of his current surroundings.

Peyton(thinking): *When Don Laban claimed control over everything, and created the ’Master/Pet’ system, I only agreed to fight one of those damn monsters after seeing that it could be done first. Just so I wouldn’t become a slave, essentially.*

He sees a young boy walking a dog on a leash turn the corner as another child riding his bike, bunny hops off the curb to avoid hitting them.

Peyton(thinking) : *As an official citizen, I never even entertained the idea to own another human as a ’pet’.

It’s clearly not right, but of course, people took advantage of the self beneficial system.*

A mother pushing a baby carriage out of a store, waves goodbye, and continues down the brightly lit sidewalk with top covered stroller.

Peyton: *Although, if I had known Mr. Dustin... would I have bought them for their freedom?

But then he wouldn’t have his new grandchild...*

With his back turned to his older coworker, Peyton doesn’t notice Mr. Dustin’s wrinkled face drop.

Taking his eye away from the telescope lens, the elderly gentleman removes his glasses, completely exposing his crows feet besides to his wide horrified eyes.

Peyton(thinking): *I would’ve never thought the ’Master/Pet System’ would just end over night like it did, but ever since then, the atmosphere around the city just feels...’real’.

Almost like the world was before those damn aliens.*

Mr. Dustin wipes his forearm over his eyes quickly, then uses his sleeve cuff to clean his glasses and immediately rests his glasses back on the bridge of his nose to peer through the scope again.

Peyton unintentionally continues to comb the nearby area with his ’Scope Eye’, then he notices something.

Suddenly, on top of a smaller building a few blocks away, a person with a red SoulSeiõrShield is hopping across the rooftops.

The young curious scout focuses in on the suspicious individual and notices there is a little girl in the suspect’s underarm.

Soon after realizing that, Peyton witnesses another individual, with a ’black fire’ covering their head, chasing after the other person retreating with the child.

Peyton(quietly): "What the fu-..."

Mr. Dustin: "ahh.. Ahhhhhhhhh!"

Mr. Dustin horrifically panicking and the sound of the telescope falling to the floor is heard.

Peyton turns around in shock to see Mr. Dustin fall backwards on to his ass.

The young man runs over to help and kneels next to his elder.

Peyton: "Mr. Dustin, what happened!?

Are you okay?!"

The startled old man raises a shaking finger, pointing out the window wall he was just looking out of.

Mr. Dustin: "Th-Th-The ala- alarm...!"

Peyton, gets to his feet and moves to the window, finally looking far out to the borders of Roronora City.

His yellow eye aura immediately changes to a scared blue and his eyes grow in horror once he sees the surrounding, suffocating swarm of smaller Icemen, beginning to enter the city.

With a clear view of all the encircling giant Icemen, a few miles from the city borders.

The wall of aliens is a half mile thick, with every Icemen shoulder to shoulder.

Peyton runs to his desk, gets to the phone, and with his now shaking hand, he presses ’666’. Without a ring, a woman picks up on the other end.

Woman on Phone: "Is this a drill?"

Peyton: "No! Activate the alarm! A giant mob of Icemen have begun invading Roronora City, they’ve already broken the gates and there’s giants too!"

Pointing out of the destroyed top floors of the building, are giant loud speakers. The begin projecting the same sirens Shelly heard after breaching from the woods.

With SeiõrSnow falling, the unsettling alarm begins echoing throughout the early night sky.
