Chapter 202: Flooded with Gifts

But as soon as I stepped inside my office, I gasped!

The entire office was filled with flowers, boxes, and bags. There were so many gifts spread around the room that I had to double-take to make sure I walked into the right place.

If previously, my office resembled a flower shop, now, it looked like an entire warehouse. Multiple bouquets holding a hundred roses were scattered around the room. Each rose in its unique and beautiful color lit up the room like a rainbow.

The scent of fresh flowers filled the room, making it feel like I just walked into a bottle of the best-smelling floral perfume.

What is all of this for?

I was looking forward to my daily bouquet, but I never expected to walk into an entire forest!

Slowly, I made my way over to my desk, setting the ice pack down momentarily. There were four small boxes sitting on my desk. Each one was wrapped in a beautiful red silk bow that contrasted beautifully with the cream color of the box.

I lifted the largest of the small boxes, weighing it in my palm to gauge what could be inside it.

Perhaps a pen? No, it’s something heavier.

Unable to guess the contents, I tugged on the end of the silk bow, pulling the ribbon right off. I lifted the lid on the box to discover another box inside. This time, it was a black velvet jewelry box with a logo I didn’t recognize.

Jewelry?

I quickly pulled out the velvet box and opened it, revealing a beautiful necklace. It had a unique design with three jade stones that were cut into the shape of long cylinders. A delicate gold chain bridges them together, forming a simple yet elegant necklace.

"Wow. This is beautiful. I’ve never seen jewelry like this before, even after all of the research I did for the Sophia event."

I ran my fingers across the jade, feeling its ultra-smooth surface.

My eyes darted to the other three boxes, and I immediately turned to open them.

The second box contained a set of jade bracelets made from the same jade as the ones in the necklace. They were so beautiful that they appeared to glow on their own.

I reached into the velvet box and lifted one, slipping it onto my wrist.

"Oh wow!" I gasped. I hadn’t expected it, but the green jade looked beautiful against my pale skin tone, almost as if it were picked out specifically for me.

With excitement, I opened the third and fourth boxes in succession. They were also both part of a matching set. The third box had a pair of jade earrings in a similar style to the necklace. The jade cylinders hung all the way down, almost reaching the base of my neck.

And the fourth box was a set of four jade rings. They were all carved from solid jade and were thinner than any jade ring I’ve seen before, making them appear dainty.

I took a moment to admire this simple but incredibly elegant set of jewelry, taking the time to try it all on. It was only when I looked at my reflection in my small compact mirror that I realized how much I was smiling.

After admiring the set of jewelry a little more, I carefully took it off and placed the pieces back into their boxes. I turned my attention to the rest of the room, where there were at least another twenty to thirty boxes, except this time they were a lot larger.

Just as I walked over to open the first of the large boxes that was resting on the coffee table, I heard a knock on my door.

"Miss Moresi, I have a delivery," Blake said from the other side.

Another delivery? Surely it’s not more gifts?

I walked over to the door and opened it. Blake flashed me a small smile, but his eyes immediately landed on my swollen cheek.

"Sorry for disturbing you. I was told to deliver this to you."

He held out a small box. By the logo, I immediately recognized it as one of the best medical ointments on the market.

"Thank you very much," I said, accepting the box.

"Anytime, Miss. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist with."

Blake flashed me a look of concern before excusing himself. I nodded and thanked him once more before returning to my office.

Walking past the gift box I was about to open, I went straight to my desk and took a seat in my office chair.

"Let’s get this ointment on before doing anything else," I mumbled and pulled out a larger mirror I kept in one of my desk drawers for when I needed to touch up my makeup.

I opened the small jar of ointment, causing a faint herbal aroma to waft out. The moment I applied the ointment to the swollen area of my face, I immediately felt a nice cooling sensation.

The originally white ointment melted into my skin, leaving behind a glossy finish. I could visibly see the redness fading in the areas where the ointment was applied.

"Wow, this stuff works fast. I thought it would take all day," I said as I examined myself in the mirror.

With the injury taken care of, I glanced back at the mound of unopened gifts in front of me. I honestly wasn’t sure how to react to all of these gifts.

So far, I loved each one I opened, but the reason why I got them all was what confused me.

I made my way back over to the coffee table and opened the large box in the center of the table. The moment I lifted the lid, I saw a pair of black stiletto heels.

"A new LAYLA design?"

My eyes widened in shock as I pulled one of the heels out of the box. They were a style that I’ve never seen before, not even from LAYLA’s most recent catalog!

"Where did he find these?" I asked, mumbling to myself as I closely inspected the shoe. Everything about it was perfectly in my style. There wasn’t a single thing about the shoe that I did not like.

I placed the shoes back inside the box and opened the next box...
