Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1023: Waiting All the Way Through
Summer Sutton spoke with such emotion, but unexpectedly, the butler listened without a trace of expression on his face.
"My master does not meddle in outsiders’ affairs. Miss, please leave. The Ink Family has its own rules; outsiders are not allowed here." The butler reminded her and walked ahead, leading her downstairs.
Summer Sutton had traveled a long way to get here, and now that her goal had not been achieved, she was unwilling to leave.
However, if she continued to stay in this room and remained locked up, the result could be even worse.
Summer pondered for a moment and then followed the butler out of the room.
With her face lowered, she walked while quietly observing her surroundings.
Summer clung to the hope that on her way out, someone from the Ink Family might appear.
As long as she could see a member of the family, she might be able to directly plead for their help.
Surprisingly, she did not see anyone from the Ink Family on her way downstairs.
Even after walking out of the castle and through the garden for quite a while, she did not see anyone who looked like the owner.
After sending Summer out of the castle, the butler closed the garden gate.
"Go straight ahead and follow the road you came on during the day, and you will be able to leave," the butler reminded her from the garden.
"Sir!" Summer clutched the garden railings, wanting to say something more, but the butler turned and headed back inside the castle without looking back.
He no longer paid any attention to Summer. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Summer’s main purpose for coming was to find a way to heal Watt Bennet’s leg injury, and having accomplished nothing, she could not possibly leave.
After the butler left, Summer did not follow his directions to leave; instead, she stood outside the castle, waiting.
She couldn’t believe that if she stood there long enough, she wouldn’t see anyone from the Ink Family!
What Summer lacked least was perseverance, especially considering how important this matter was to her. She had enough patience to continue waiting there.
Standing outside the gate, Summer continued to wait.
After a whole night of waiting, no one came out of the castle.
Summer was unfazed and continued the next day.
She had gone a whole day and night without eating or sleeping, but she seemed not to feel tired, just standing outside the Ink Family’s gate, eyes fixed on the castle, with no intention of leaving.
In the morning, a light drizzle began to fall.
The Ink Family gardeners, who were trimming the plants in the garden, noticed her outside, taken aback by the sight.
A kind-hearted middle-aged man told her in French that it was dangerous to stay there for too long.
Summer understood his words, but she did not understand what he meant.
Ignoring it, she continued to wait outside.
By noon, the rain intensified.
The summer rain arrived suddenly, with violent storms pounding down, painfully heavy like pellets on her body.
There was no place to shelter from the rain outside the Ink Family’s gate, so Summer had nowhere to hide or dodge and continued to stand in the rain, waiting.
Failing to meet anyone after a day, she believed that if she waited a few more days, there would eventually be someone to meet.
From a direction in the castle, a slender figure stood silently on the balcony, watching the scene from afar, momentarily lost.
The rain grew heavier, enveloping the entire castle in mist, obscuring everything from view.
The water on the ground rushed like a river.
Summer’s eyes were stung painfully by the rain, making it difficult even to open them.
