Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy - Chapter 576: "Maybe you should. "
Luo Muchen sighed softly as he placed his hand behind Qie Xieling his movements small and unnoticeable or so he thought. He took another bite of his wrap his countenance facing the sea of lights but the corner of his eye was fixed on Qie Xieling beside him.
Qie Xieling finished the wrap and scrunched up the foil into a ball before tossing it into the nearby bin. With a muffled thud, it landed inside the trash can perfectly. š³šš²šš ššš»š¼š§š²š„.ššš¦
"Wow, nice shot," said Luo Muchen his lips almost brushing against Qie Xielingās ear. Qie Xieling felt so hot with a blush spreading from his cheeks to the rest of his face and neck.
"Itās not that great. I am not as good as you," he said and Luo Muchen took his last bite of his wrap and crumpled the foil.
He knew he could make that shot but he moved his hand down slightly on purpose and missed. "Uh... you are probably tipsy. Thatās why you missed it. Plus itās dark," said Qie Xieling trying to encourage him. Luo Muchen walked over to the trash can and picked the foil up before casually throwing it into the bin.
Qie Xieling thought he was going to try again thus he was a little surprised. Luo Muchen swayed a little almost missing his footing but in truth, he wasnāt anywhere near being tipsy.
Luo Muchen settled between Qie Xielingās legs and pressed his palms against the hood of the car meeting his gaze. Qie Xielingās breath stagnated his entire body tense. He felt an intense thrill that was very difficult to hide. He could already imagine himself caressing Luo Muchenās neck while tilting his head to the side for him to kiss his.
His Adamās apple rolled not knowing where to put his hands and feet.
"So you arenāt going to tell me?" he asked again this time his voice husky making Qie Xielingās ears itch.
Qie Xielingās lips quirked slyly.
"Itās not my fault that you have the memory of a goldfish," he said but Luo Muchen corrected him.
"Actually goldfish have a good memory that can last up to a month," he said and Qie Xieling laughed out loud before saying,
"So your memory is even worse than that of a goldfish. Interesting."
Luo Muchen entranced by those gorgeous eyes leaned in even closer. His gaze shifted to Qie Xielingās moist lips. He wanted it. He wanted a taste. Just a taste of what it would feel like.
Qie Xieling didnāt move. He was just staring at him as though waiting. Waiting for something to happen. Luo Muchen felt a scorching fire at the pit of his stomach. If Qie Xieling didnāt stop him he would do it. He would kiss him. But just as they got closer he faltered, he leaned his head against Qie Xielingās shoulder. He couldnāt resist anymore. The more he resisted the stronger the urge.
Qie Xieling rubbed Luo Muchenās back. For a moment he almost thought that Luo Muchen was going to kiss him but it must have been his illusion. His eyes shone like he had made a decision. He gulped down the remaining beer in the can and pulled Luo Muchen off of him.
Luo Muchen wanted to apologise for taking liberties with him when Qie Xielingās lips met his. The city lights blurred as Luo Muchen lost himself in the kiss, in the taste of spicy chicken, the bitter taste of beer and the promise... of something more.
The kiss was fleeting but it was dizzying. Luo Muchenās pupils trembled in disbelief. He touched his lips gazing down at Qie Xieling who appeared nonchalant like nothing had just happened right now.
Qie Xieling wasnāt nonchalant at all. His hands were trembling slightly. He wanted to see Luo Muchenās reaction. If it was bad then he stood no chance. But looking at him now he couldnāt tell whether it was good or bad. He was looking at him with an unreadable expression.
He decided to take a page from his uncleās book and be direct. "You didnāt like it? For a second there I thought you were going to kiss me so I kissed you first."
He pushed him away and Luo Muchen obediently stepped back his mind lagging. He was still processing what had just happened.
He sat down next to Qie Xieling and took out another beer. He drank more than half of it before asking, "Are you... drunk?" He recalled the last time something like this happened between them. Qie Xieling was drunk out of his mind and he didnāt even remember anything of what happened that night.
Qie Xieling chuckled softly and said, "No." A memory that he had long buried deep down resurfaced. He had been drunk before in the hotel and he kissed Luo Muchen while pressing him against the wall. He hadnāt fought him off back then. Was that why he was asking if he was drunk?
The two of them looked up at the night sky together. The stars above seemed to shimmer brighter, their presence serving as a silent witness to what was about to happen.
"That." He gestured between them. "You and me. The way you make me feel."
Qie Xielingās breath caught as he kept facing forward. "And how do I make you feel?" he asked before clenching his jaw.
Luo Muchen who had been waiting for this moment leaned in closer, his lips brushing Qie Xielingās ear. "Like Iām standing on the edge of something incredible. Like Iām about to fall."
Qie Xielingās lips quirked slightly the biting wind blowing away the heat on his ears.
His pulse raced his next words dancing at the tip of his tongue. He set the beer can down and turned to Luo Muchen, their knees touching. "Maybe you should."
"Should what?" asked Luo Muchen and Qie Xielingās hand gently rested on Luo Muchenās thigh, his fingers tracing along the other manās pants with a light touch that spoke volumes.
"Fall."
Under the silver moonlight, Luo Muchen found himself leaning towards Qie Xieling, tempted by his words. He would gladly fall.
