Chapter 353: Gruelling training with bae

Jie was so annoyed by Qie Xieling but he also saw there was no space. After this, he decided to add another rule. There should be no more than ten people in an elevator at a time. Qie Xieling was looking away with a casual expression like he felt absolutely nothing of this situation. It was as though he was just helping an elder and that was all.

Jie glanced at Qie Xieling’s Adam’s apple and as it bobbed he couldn’t but want to touch it... or maybe take a bite. Just a tiny bite wouldn’t hurt, right?

When he realised his line of thought he got even more upset. His annoyance only intensified when he noticed that familiar scent coming from him. It was the same scent that still lingered on his bedding after Qie Xieling invited himself into his bedroom.

Its sweet undertones strangled his heart and he suddenly felt conflicting emotions. His heart started racing even though he was irritated by the situation. The elevator ride felt like an eternity to him, despite its short duration.

He tried to steady his racing heart and remain composed, but he couldn’t help but be intrigued by the scent that seemed to linger around Qie Xieling.

As the elevator finally reached the training room floor, the group disembarked, and Qie Xieling stepped out into the corridor but when he turned around he found that the old man wasn’t following.

"Uncle Jie aren’t you coming?" he asked but he shook his head no before the elevator doors closed.

Qie Xieling shrugged his shoulders and walked to join the others. When he entered the training room his blood surged like he was high on caffeine. His eyes widened with awe as he gazed upon the sprawling expanse before him. The room was a haven of cutting-edge technology, filled with towering mechs and sleek remote-controlled ships scattered across the vast training floor. The sight was nothing short of mesmerising, and Qie Xieling could feel his excitement building up within him.

Unable to contain his enthusiasm, he took a step forward, ready to immerse himself in the wonders that lay before him. But just as he was about to sprint towards the nearest mech, a firm grip on his collar halted his progress. Mauve pulled him back and said,

"Recruits start here," his voice carrying a note of sternness. Qie Xieling reluctantly turned his gaze away from the captivating machines, realising that his initial excitement had gotten the better of him.

He nodded obediently but his heart was still itching. Before the physical training started, a sudden announcement blared through the training room’s speakers, momentarily grabbing everyone’s attention. "Leila, deduction of ten per cent salary for fraternising," the voice declared. Qie Xieling’s eyes looked around and saw that everyone was looking behind him. He saw the same woman who smacked his behind throwing her hands in the air while her companions laughed at her.

Qie Xieling was a little surprised. They were in a blind spot when she smacked at him but it seemed nothing could escape the enforcers’ eyes. He let out a throaty chuckle while putting on the fingerless gloves he was given to wear.

Putting aside his concerns, Qie Xieling focused on the gruelling physical training that awaited him. He was led through a series of extreme exercises that pushed him to his limits, testing his strength, agility, and endurance.

With each passing minute, his initial excitement waned, and a sense of regret settled in. He questioned his decision to sign up for this demanding job. If this was what he had to go through every day then he was going to suffer. As a certified couch potato, he couldn’t help but cry out. What was even more upsetting was that before he came into this world his character was in the Zeden Coalition army yet his muscles felt like they were going through intense training for the first time. Qie Xieling lay on the ground flat his chest rising and falling his body covered in sweat.

Mauve squatted near him and asked, "How are you feeling?... I honestly thought the number one most wanted man in the universe would be able to endure."

Qie Xieling rubbed his throbbing temples and said, "I am hungover so naturally I am not at my best."

After he said that there was some sort of commotion and everyone was gathering in formation. Qie Xieling sat up while Mauve looked back. Their captain had made an appearance and from the looks of it, he was not in a good mood.

Mauve helped Qie Xieling up and they stood in a disciplined formation like the others.

The air grew heavy with a mixture of fear and excitement as they watched the captain walk towards the podium. Standing beside him, Bo Ailun addressed the crew. His voice resonated with authority as he declared, "Today, you have the honour of engaging in one-on-one combat with the Captain himself. It is a rare privilege so take full advantage of it." He scanned the room, seeking volunteers for this coveted opportunity. They all knew how rare an opportunity it was. Per year the captain only came down here once or twice.

Eager to prove their mettle, a sea of hands shot up, eager to face the captain. Bo Ailun nodded approvingly, his gaze sweeping across the room. "Very well," he said, a hint of admiration in his voice. "We have no shortage of volunteers."

Luo Muchen stepped down from the podium and walked through the crowd his steps measured and confident before stopping in front of Qie Xieling.

Qie Xieling’s eyes met Luo Muchen’s gaze, unwavering and defiant. He scoffed as he pushed his hair back. He knew no matter what the circumstances in that world Luo Muchen would always be drawn to him even when unprovoked.

Bo Ailun gestured for the crew to clear some space, allowing the impending duel to unfold without hindrance.

Qie Xieling wasn’t scared, but exhausted and hungover but he still wanted to spar with him. He still had grievances to air out with him.
