Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy
Chapter 300: A villian would burn the world for you
The sun beat down on the asphalt as the stock cars roared tackling the grueling two-hundred-lap race. Qie Xieling manoeuvred his sleek number 5 car through the tight turns and high-speed straightaways, feeling the adrenaline surge through his veins. A lot was riding on this race and he was very determined to win. He was doing a great job keeping up but on the seventeenth lap, disaster struck. In a fierce battle for position, his rival Bager forced him into a corner, causing Qie Xieling’s rear tire to burst. Smoke filled the cockpit, making it difficult for him to see and breathe.
Gritting his teeth his hands gripped the steering wheel, as he fought to regain control. He knew he had to make a quick decision. In a split second, he veered towards the pit road, making an unscheduled stop to change the damaged tyre.
As the pit crew hurriedly worked to get him back on track, Qie’ Xieling’s heart sank as he realised he had fallen two laps behind the leaders.
However, luck was on his side because as he rejoined the race, a caution flag was issued for debris on the track. The field slowed down, giving him a chance to catch up. He dug deep, focusing on his mistakes and the lessons he had learned during his training. He knew he couldn’t afford to make any more errors if he wanted to claw his way back into contention.
But as though possessed by gods and demons another driver was hot on his tail making him the target. As he gained momentum, driver 22, notorious for his aggressive tactics, cornered him against a menacing wall, threatening to end his race prematurely. Bager also loomed behind Driver 22, a gleam of malicious satisfaction in his eyes.
The impact sent Qie Xieling’s heart racing, but he refused to let them wear him down. With sheer determination, Qie Xieling manoeuvred his car, finding a narrow opening to escape the clutches of the wall.
The crowd erupted in applause as he regained his momentum while the commentators sang praises. They couldn’t fathom the idea that Qie Xieling was just a newcomer.
In the VIP lounge, Luo Muchen didn’t take his eyes off his lover. His expression remained unreadable but his eyes showed deep emotion. He worried for his safety endlessly yet at the same time he wanted his lover to leave them all in the dust and win.
"How is your injury?" asked President Yin as he swirled his glass of whiskey.
Luo Muchen didn’t move his gaze away from car number five as he replied, "It’s none of your concern."
President Yin took a sip his expression contorting from the strong taste. "Indeed... It is only my right as an elder to teach the younger generation. I wish you could understand that everything I do is for your own good."
Luo Muchen sneered coldly before saying, "You are right uncle. It was indeed for my own good that I was raised by a ruthless thug because if I was raised by you my morals would be skewed."
President Yin’s smile froze the whiskey burning his throat. With a humph, he looked away with annoyance. This brat truly lacked maternal education. The disrespect was beyond him.
The young woman who had been nervously watching Luo Muchen all this time gathered her courage and got up under her father’s urging.
She sat next to him and poured out some whiskey for him her eyes sparkling in the setting sun. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She had a boyish figure and short hair exuding beauty in a unique and captivating way. Her style leaned towards the effeminate side, with a touch of androgyny.
The combination of her short hair and fashion choices might occasionally lead others to mistake her for a young man. Her aesthetic had the potential to appeal to individuals across the spectrum of sexual orientations but Luo Muchen wasn’t moved. It seemed they had studied his preference and changed her style to suit his taste.
Unfortunately for them, his preference was Qie Xieling not someone like Qie Xieling.
"Gege, please have some," she called out sweetly and Luo Muchen felt an unsettling feeling inside him. He suddenly felt nauseated being called that. He ignored her but she didn’t seem to mind. She kept on with her endless chatter but Luo Muchen’s mind was in a distant land wondering how he could lure Qie Xieling to do it tonight. He had been starved for two weeks and each time he tried to seduce him he would be denied access. He almost got kicked out of bed once and it was so unbearable being apart from him.
From then on he was well behaved but it wasn’t easy. He didn’t know he had such an appetite until he tasted his lover’s addictive taste.
"... I do understand why you like him," she suddenly said bringing Luo Muchen back to reality. He was very displeased hearing her speak of his lover.
"He is tall, handsome and when he races he is like a god on the track. How can anyone compete?" she continued to say taking a sip of the whiskey Luo Muchen hadn’t touched.
"But one thing he can’t offer you though is children. I can give you that. You two can be together in private. All I want is the status of your wife in return you will have all the benefits."
Seeing that Luo Muchen hadn’t refused yet she felt even more courageous saying, "I know you have never been with a woman before... who knows... maybe if you have a taste you might change your prefer-." She stopped talking when she saw him take out a pistol and screw on the suppressor.
Her hand froze as she held up the glass the terror in her eyes evident. Others would ask her if she was so afraid why would she want to be with a villain like him? Because a hero would sacrifice for you for the greater good but a villain would burn the world for her. If she could get him to love her she would be the most powerful woman even more powerful than the first lady of the country. Just like most women she was attracted to power and could sense it from a mile away.
