When Luo Muchen arrived at his office he was in an exceptionally good mood. He looked like a man with a happy wife at home. The moment he reached his office he found Secretary Chen standing outside with a blank expression. She looked like she had been standing there for a while and was specifically waiting for him.

"Didn’t I assign you to Qie Xieling?" he asked. At the time he had demoted her because she had let Qie Xieling run rampant in his mansion but now it wasn’t a demotion because she was now working for his boyfriend.

"Yes and I am here to discuss him," said Jolie her expression stern. She was looking out for Qie Xieling and didn’t want anything to go wrong in this world thus she came to the head himself to address the issue.

"Come in then," he said and as he sat down in his chair, Jolie placed an envelope on his desk.

"I intercepted Bager’s cell phone and from what I can tell he is going to be a problem. I suggest he gets eliminated before it’s too late."

Luo Muchen opened the envelope and took a good look at its contents. He still had a lot of money on Bager and it was because of this that he hadn’t dealt with him yet.

Now looking at this evidence it was quite concerning. "I will increase security detail around Qie Xieling," he said but even he wasn’t confident that would be enough.

"You can but what about her? Miss Bi might look harmless but the fact that she is meeting with Bager means there is nothing good coming," she said not afraid to challenge him. She could give a flying fuck staying in character. Qie Xieling was after all her responsibility.

"I have already sorted her out," he said while rubbing his upper lip with his index finger. He suddenly leaned forward and looked her dead in the eye before saying,

"It seems as though your loyalties have shifted. In the past, you wouldn’t dare speak to me like that."

Jolie smiled looking like a fiend. She didn’t deny it at all but reaffirmed it.

"Yes from the day you affirmed your interest in him my loyalties changed. I will protect him with my life," she said and Luo Muchen was a little surprised. This was what he wanted, someone who would protect his lover with their lives but why did he feel threatened?

"Good, is that all?" he asked and Jolie nodded her head. If she could go and kill Bager she would but she was afraid that Leong Jinn would notice something was wrong.

As soon as she left his office Luo Muchen glanced down at the pictures scattered on his desk. He knew no amount of money was worth Bager hurting his lover.

Thus he picked up his cell phone and dialled a number. When it got picked up he said, "I have a job for you."

Halfway across the globe, a man stood at the open door of the skydiving plane, adrenaline coursing through his veins. The deafening roar of the engines drowned out the world around him, and he was about to leap out of the plane.

Just as he was about to leap, his cell phone vibrated in his pocket. Curiosity piqued, he retrieved his phone, his gloved fingers fumbling to answer the call.

He brought it to his ear, expecting a call from a telemarketer. However, what awaited him on the other end of the line was his boss.

"I have a job for you."

Caught off guard, Alex glanced back into the plane. His eyes met the lifeless gaze of the pilot and the crew, their bodies still strapped to their seats after he had killed them. "What is it, boss Luo?"

"I need you to eliminate a target," said Luo Muchen, his tone chillingly matter-of-fact.

"Should I make it look like an accident?" he asked pulling the straps of his parachute.

"Accidental," replied Luo Muchen.

"Okay give me two days," he replied, his voice barely a whisper. "Consider it done," before he hurtled towards the earth below.

As the plane crashed into the unforgiving mountainside, a thunderous explosion echoed through the valley. Alex, suspended in mid-air, opened his parachute, the fabric billowing above him, providing a moment of respite from the freefall.

As he glided down towards the earth, his boss’s voice crackled through his earpiece once again, breaking the silence. "Alex, are you freelancing?"

The question caught him off guard. He wasn’t freelancing but he had found out this pilot and his crew had been sex trafficking people so he decided to deal with them free of charge.

"No, boss," he replied firmly, his voice devoid of hesitation. "I’m still with you, I promise."

Luo Muchen cut the call and decided to start work but just as he found his focus his cell phone rang.

Thinking it was his lover he excitedly picked up his phone only to find out it was his uncle calling. He reluctantly picked it up but it wasn’t his uncle on the other line but his uncle’s secretary.

"Sir... the president requests your audience. He requests you meet in the usual place," he said and Luo Muchen’s jaw tightened his eyes flickering with rage.

Who was his uncle? Well, he was the current president of the country. The man had distanced himself from him before he was even born. When his mother fell pregnant with a triad boss he told her that they didn’t have a relationship.

Luo Muchen’s mother begged that he at least recognise her son but he refused considering that his nephew had half of the triad boss’ blood. It would affect his political career.

When he was born his mother died during childbirth. It was his father who buried his mother and raised him despite him having a wife. When his father died he was given half of the triad and his younger half sister was given the other half. The two divided their operations in half.

Fast forward to the future his uncle became the president and came to his nephew trying to throw the family card around but the man used him to reduce the crime rate country-wide to further his agenda. When Luo Muchen realised he was being used he steered clear of his uncle but it seemed his uncle wasn’t done with him yet.
