Chapter 250: How to appease one’s husband

"Ma’am, should we send the bill to them?" asked a tall man with red hair as he passed her a clean handkerchief.

Lee Ya took it from him as she replied, "No, I know he has a very important shipment worth twice the price of my shit. Hijack it tomorrow as reimbursement and compensation for pain and suffering."

"Yes ma’am," he replied.

Meanwhile, Luo Muchen’s grip on Qie Xieling’s arm remained unyielding as they stood inside the cramped elevator. Seeing how angry their boss was his men didn’t dare get in with them. They wisely chose the stairs.

The air in the elevator grew thick with tension, making it difficult for Qie Xieling to catch his breath. He could feel the raw anger radiating from Luo Muchen, his once gentle touch now transformed into a vice-like grip.

"You can let me go," he mustered the courage to speak, his voice laced with a mix of defiance and resignation. "I won’t run."

Luo Muchen’s gaze remained fixed ahead, refusing to acknowledge him. Instead, his grip tightened further, his nails piercing Qie Xieling’s skin, leaving faint red marks in their wake. Qie Xieling winced, trying to hide the pain that surged through his arm.

As the elevator doors slid open, revealing the bustling ground floor, Luo Muchen led Qie Xieling out with an air of authority.

His men kept a safe distance unwilling to intrude upon their leader’s private turmoil. The nightclub’s chaotic atmosphere faded into the background as they stepped outside into the cool night air.

Surrounded by Luo Muchen’s vigilant protection detail, their presence a silent reminder of the power he commanded, Qie Xieling was forcefully guided towards a waiting SUV.

The guard by the door opened it, and Qie Xieling was shoved inside. Luo Muchen followed suit, his anger palpable as he settled in beside Qie Xeiling.

Bo Ailun who had been waiting outside immediately lunged forward when he spotted Qie Xieling. Just as he was about to dash over Jolie grabbed the back of his collar and pulled him back. Bo Ailun almost tripped from that yank.

"Hey, what are you doing? He looked so angry. I am afraid he is going to do something to him," he said and Jolie let him go.

"Are you tired of living? If you go I promise you he will beat you for meddling in domestic affairs. You don’t want to intervene between married couples otherwise they will turn against you. Let’s hope it won’t turn into a scene of domestic violence. Lin Lin is too fragile," she said and Bo Ailun was so confused that he thought his brain was broken. What married couple? What domestic violence?

As the convoy of six black SUVs pulled away from the chaotic city street, the dim glow of the passing streetlights cascaded into the car, casting fleeting glimpses of Luo Muchen’s tormented expression. His once composed demeanour shattered, replaced by a seething rage that threatened to consume him.

Luo Muchen’s hand absently tugged at his tie, a futile attempt to alleviate the invisible constraints that seemed to suffocate him. The fabric felt like a noose around his neck, a constant reminder of the whirlwind of emotions raging within him. Qie Xieling watched silently, his heart heavy. He wanted to say something but that would most likely anger him further.

In the midst of the tense silence, the hum of the engine and the distant sounds of the city provided a sombre backdrop to their journey. As the city lights blurred into streaks of colour, Qie Xieling couldn’t help but wonder when it will be the perfect time to tell him what he got.

Six sleek SUVs barreled through the ornate iron gates of the large estate, their powerful engines reverberating through the silence of the night. The vehicles came to an abrupt halt, their tyres skidding on the gravel as if the urgency of their mission demanded such a dramatic entrance.

The doors swung open simultaneously, and a group of armed men clad in black suits emerged, their eyes scanning the surroundings with a heightened sense of vigilance.

In one of the cars, Luo Muchen, his face etched with a mix of fury and betrayal bellowed at his driver and bodyguard, commanding them to exit the vehicle with a thunderous roar. The two men scrambled to obey, their movements quick and efficient, leaving Luo Muchen alone with Qie Xieling.

Luo Muchen’s anger simmered as he glared at Qie Xieling, his eyes burning with a mix of disappointment and rage.

"Do you ever think of anyone but yourself?" he seethed, his voice laced with a venomous edge. The question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of the tension between them.

A self-deprecating smile tugged at the corners of Qie Xieling’s lips as he reached into his pocket. Luo Muchen’s instincts kicked in, mistaking the gesture for a potential threat. In one swift motion, he grabbed Qie Xieling’s wrist, his grip firm and unyielding.

"If you go down this path, there is no going back," he warned, his voice low and filled with a mix of warning and pain.

Carrying on with his actions, Qie Xieling withdrew his hand from his pocket, revealing a sleek design cell phone. Luo Muchen’s gaze flickered to the device, his heart pounding in a chaotic mess of emotions. He couldn’t make sense of what was happening.

"I told you that I will get back everything that belongs to you with interest," Qie Xieling murmured. "There is now malware in Lee Ya’s server. All you have to do is erase everything, and all the black material she has will be gone."

Luo Muchen’s eyes narrowed as he contemplated Qie Xieling’s words, the weight of the situation settling heavily upon him. The lines between friend and foe were blurred in this moment and he didn’t know how to react.

"You think I would believe you?" he said his chest still a chaotic mess. How can someone as selfish as Qie Xieling do this for him when he was really the one who betrayed him in the first place? It didn’t make any sense.

"Here, you can check it yourself. When you have confirmed it you can come find me in the basement," replied Qie Xieling before handing him the cell phone and opening the car door.

Luo Muchen’s henchmen glanced at the open door expecting to see a bruised and battered Qie Xieling but what did they see? He was stretching his waist muscles before walking into the house.

It was then they discovered that Qie Xieling was no cat but an immortal. How could one have so many lives escaping death each time? He was such a lucky bastard.
