Sage of Humanity
Chapter 1965 - 1963: Brahman Valley Attacks
In the two years before the closure of the Asura Field, a rather significant event happened at the Moon Jade combat field. A mysterious expert defeated Arbuluo from the Ancient Savages World and then defeated Gusheng from the Yellow Dragon World, ascending to the top position of the Moon Jade Ranking.
When the Moon Jade Ranking was decided that time, countless Moon Jade cultivators were shaken.
After all, they had long known the strength of Arbuluo and Gusheng; these two were in a class of their own on the Moon Jade level. Since they arrived at the Asura Field, no one else had ever shaken their positions; only they were worthy opponents for each other.
Maintaining a balance for many years, suddenly one day, it was broken by a mysterious expert; how could the Moon Jade cultivators not take notice?
Although there were some people watching that day, it was not many, coupled with Lu Ye hiding his name on the combat ranking; apart from a few who knew his background, most people did not know his specific origin or name.
Later, this legendary figure, who rose to fame quickly as the top of the Moon Jade Ranking, suddenly vanished, no longer appearing in the combat field, with his ranking falling repeatedly until by the time the Asura Field closed, he was beyond the five hundred mark.
But no one underestimated him because of this. He remained the universally recognized number one on the Moon Jade level by all cultivators!
Many rumors spread that the top ranker did not care about his position, hence not continuing to compete in the combat field ranking. In truth, during that period, Lu Ye was helping the Sky Asura Race with the bloodline curse poison issue, and he received the same discounts on material exchanges in the treasure vault as the Sky Asura clansmen; the benefits from being the Moon Jade top rank were indeed ignorable.
Sun Zheng undoubtedly had watched the combat scene of Lu Ye against Arbuluo or Gusheng, and immediately recognized him.
The other Moon Jades had not seen Lu Ye before; upon hearing Sun Zheng’s words, they all looked over curiously, admiring the mysterious Moon Jade top ranker, and now seeing him in person, they all came forward to pay their respects.
Lu Ye returned the salutation one by one.
After some casual greetings, since it was a first meeting, there wasn’t much to say, just a simple introduction.
Lu Ye turned to Yuk Yaorao, and amidst her tense and anxious gaze, he spoke, "Junior Sister Yuk, I must be going now. Take care; we shall meet again if fate allows!"
Yuk Yaorao, although she anticipated what Lu Ye would say, still felt reluctant when the moment arrived, pursing her red lips and nodding, "Senior Brother, you too take care!"
Sun Zheng glanced at Yuk Yaorao, understanding, smiled, and spoke, "Fellow Daoist, are you leaving already? Why not rest for a bit?"
If someone can defeat Arbuluo and Gusheng, they will surely become an extraordinary talent in the future, leaving Sun Zheng in awe. Junior Sister Yaorao obviously has feelings for him; if he can help facilitate this bond, it would be beneficial for Yuk Yaorao and Jiuxuan in the future.
Yuk Yaorao’s thin skin wouldn’t allow her to ask someone to stay; he naturally had no such concerns.
Lu Ye shook his head, "Brother Sun, I appreciate your kindness, but I need to find the path home."
Sun Zheng tried his best to persuade him, "There’s no rush right now. Fellow Daoist might not know, Senior Uncle Cen Xin deduced that this area is a Shura Domain hidden by the power of the Asura Field. After the Asura Field closed, we scattered around here; presently, it’s challenging to discern direction here. Senior Uncle deduced Jiuxuan’s location through some secret technique. Rather than searching randomly, why not return to Jiuxuan with us and ask Senior Uncle for assistance; it might be easier than searching alone."
Without Lu Ye relying on the seven-color Divine Lotus to connect to the Soul Race ancestral land, this would undoubtedly be a solid suggestion. However, since he vaguely sensed an entrance to the Soul Race ancestral land, there was naturally no need to waste time.
His gaze swept past Yuk Yaorao behind Sun Zheng, seeing her hopeful expression, yet Lu Ye shook his head again.
Just as he was about to speak, the powerful might of Sun Blaze suddenly erupted from the cabin room upstairs, followed closely by a woman’s voice reaching their ears, "Enemies are attacking, continue forward and prepare the defenses!"
As her words fell, Lu Ye vaguely saw a figure flying out from that side, rushing towards the depths of stellar space with immense power.
On the building ship, all cultivators were startled.
Sun Zheng reacted quickly, calling out, "Increase speed, activate the protective array!"
Numerous cultivators swiftly busied themselves.
Lu Ye couldn’t help but expand his Mental Consciousness, quickly furrowing his brows, as he vaguely sensed many powerful auras rapidly approaching.
At that moment, from the depths of space far away, intense sounds of combat erupted, as Jiuxuan’s Sun Blaze faced the incoming enemy.
For her to actively engage, the opponent is undoubtedly another Sun Blaze.
"Follow me, Senior Brother!" Yuk Yaorao suddenly grabbed Lu Ye’s hand, pulling him towards a direction, and soon they entered the ship’s interior.
Sun Zheng was already standing there, with various cultivators stationed in different formations, urging their power.
"Who are they?" He asked gravely.
In one of the detection formations, a cultivator closed his eyes, concentrating, using the array’s power to explore the surroundings. Upon hearing Sun Zheng’s inquiry, he immediately replied, "I see Van Goh’s starboat!"
"As expected, it’s them!" Sun Zheng seemed to expect it, clenching his teeth, asking again, "How many are there?"
"Less than ten..." The cultivator replied, his face changing instantly, "No, there’s more, at least fifteen!"
Sun Zheng’s face suddenly turned pale, fifteen people. It’s not many, but those who dare to come at this moment are undoubtedly Moon Jade cultivators, meaning there are fifteen Moon Jade cultivators, while there are only a few on their side.
He immediately understood the urgency of the situation. Somehow, the Brahman Valley had gained insight into their movements, first using Sun Blaze to draw away Senior Aunt Cen Xin, and then launching an assault with over a dozen Moon Jade cultivators. This was an attempt to annihilate everyone on their ship.
The number of Moon Jade cultivators on each side was vastly different, making it impossible to confront them. He could only order the speed to be increased to the maximum and try to escape swiftly.
On Lu Ye’s side, Yuk Yaorao was still tightly gripping his hand, her fingers clenching with evident nervousness.
"Brahman Valley is..." Lu Ye softly asked.
Yuk Yaorao snapped out of her thoughts and explained, "The Brahman Valley Galaxy is a neighboring galaxy of Jiuxuan. Our relationship with them isn’t good, with frequent clashes. This time, they must have discovered our movements and are now targeting us."
She hadn’t expected that after finally reuniting with the cultivators of their home galaxy, they would encounter such a situation. She felt somewhat apologetic: "Senior Brother, I’ve implicated you."
Lu Ye shook his head. With his cultivation at the current level, cultivators of the same rank posed no threat to him. The only real threat was from Sun Blaze.
However, Brahman Valley seemed ill-prepared. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have sent so few people. Without a second Sun Blaze, he wasn’t worried at all.
But if there was a second Sun Blaze... he decided inwardly that he would store Yuk Yaorao in the Small Flower World and activate the power of the red talisman to flee if necessary.
"Senior Brother Sun, we can’t escape." A cultivator shouted.
Such a massive tower-ship-style starboat could accommodate more cultivators, but it was not as fast as smaller starboats. The attacking cultivators, riding smaller starboats, naturally caught up easily.
"Prepare for battle!" Sun Zheng’s expression turned cold, and at his command, the battle erupted immediately.
Moments later, the tower ship trembled violently. The cultivators’ shouts echoed continuously, and the strength of the protective array steadily decreased under the relentless assault of the enemy. Once the protective array was broken, the enemy could do whatever they wished.
Sun Zheng stepped up to Lu Ye, bowing deeply: "Fellow Daoist Lu, this unexpected turn of events may involve you, but when the lips are gone, the teeth feel the cold. We may need you to help us fend off the enemy. Can you join us to resist them?"
The actions of Brahman Valley indeed caught Jiuxuan off guard, but they couldn’t have expected the top of the Moon Jade Ranking to be here. Sun Zheng had seen Lu Ye compete with Arbuluo firsthand, knowing the significant weight of holding the top rank. If Lu Ye agreed to fight, Jiuxuan might turn the tide.
"No problem." Lu Ye nodded.
At this point, he couldn’t just leave. He certainly couldn’t tell the people of Brahman Valley that he wasn’t a Jiuxuan cultivator and ask them to let him go; they surely wouldn’t agree.
So, as Sun Zheng said, he was already entangled in this matter, and thus, he had to fight back.
Sun Zheng was overjoyed: "Thank you, Fellow Daoist, in advance!"
He turned away, clearly to rally everyone before the battle.
Lu Ye glanced down: "Junior Sister Yuk, I have to go face the enemy."
Yuk Yaorao nodded: "Be careful, Senior Brother."
Lu Ye shook his hand, and when Yuk Yaorao looked down, she realized she had been holding his hand all along. Her ears turned red, and she quickly let go.
A moment later, on the deck, five Moon Jade cultivators from Jiuxuan gathered, making six figures including Lu Ye.
It’s not that Jiuxuan only had a few Moon Jade cultivators; these were just the ones who could gather. Others were scattered across the Asura Domain and hadn’t gathered yet.
Looking at the Brahman Valley side, over a dozen figures surrounded the tower ship, each using their methods to make the protective array shaky.
"Sun Zheng, it’s been a while!" A voice suddenly shouted—it was a Moon Jade from Brahman Valley. The voice dripped with pride and arrogance: "Didn’t expect we’d meet here."
Sun Zheng’s face was sullen, and he didn’t respond.
"Who’s the strongest amongst them?" Lu Ye suddenly asked, standing beside him.
Sun Zheng replied, "It’s the one who shouted—Jyang An, who ranks within the top thousand on the Moon Jade Ranking."
"That’s quite impressive," Lu Ye nodded.
In the vast Asura Field, with so many Moon Jade cultivators, being in the top thousand on the ranking was indicative of exceptional strength. As they spoke, Lu Ye looked up at Jyang An. After one glance, he found the face somewhat familiar.
He vaguely... seemed to have seen it somewhere before?
Jyang An seemed to notice his gaze, turning to clearly see Lu Ye’s face, which made him momentarily stunned. At that moment, he, too, felt the same strange familiarity.
He vaguely... seemed to have seen this person somewhere before?
