Chapter 185: Chapter 183: Who’s in Our House?

Liu Yifei and the others standing by Fang Chenyi’s side were dumbfounded. The security guards who had rushed over to intervene were also stunned.

The surrounding reporters, who had already planned out their headlines, were utterly baffled.

’What the hell? All that hype, and this is what I get?’

Fang Chenyi quickly stepped forward and pulled the man to his feet, a speechless look on his own face. The guy certainly had a unique way of talking. He was speaking words of gratitude, but his tone sounded like he was spoiling for a fight.

Fortunately, the security guards arrived just then. Fang Chenyi glanced back, telling Lü Dong to handle the reporters. He then told Liu Yifei to have his deputy take over things in Paris for the time being, adding that they’d discuss the details later. Surrounded by the guards, he then pulled Bai Menghan along and broke through the crowd.

When the reporters saw they couldn’t get an interview with Fang Chenyi, they had no choice but to turn their attention to Lü Dong.

Two hours later, the Rolls-Royce chauffeuring the two of them finally pulled up to the gate of Villa No. 3 in Century Garden.

After a word with the driver, Fang Chenyi helped Bai Menghan out of the car. As he stood before the gate, gazing at the familiar villa, a wave of complex emotions washed over him.

The sounds of their arrival immediately alerted Char and the others, who had returned a day earlier.

After getting back, they had carefully hired a vehicle and spent the better part of a day transferring all the antiques from the plane.

Plus, since none of them had a habit of watching the news or browsing on their phones, they were completely unaware that Fang Chenyi’s plane had crashed.

"Oh, Boss, you’re finally back! We’ve already brought everything over for you. Since we don’t have a key to the villa, we put it all in the garage. Do you need us to help you move it inside?"

Seeing that Char was unaware of the plane crash, Fang Chenyi decided not to bring it up.

Thinking of the thousand-plus antiques, Fang Chenyi suddenly let out a sly chuckle. He then turned to Bai Menghan and said:

"Xiao Hanhan, didn’t you say last time that we don’t have a single antique in the house? So, what do you say we put all of them on display right here?"

Bai Menghan was at a loss for words. ’Antiques worth four billion, just displayed in the house? Isn’t he worried about burglars breaking in and stealing them...?’

Of course, Bai Menghan never argued with a decision Fang Chenyi made.

But it was already evening. Even if they were going to arrange everything in the villa, it would have to wait until the next day.

"Chenyi, will everything be safe in the garage?"

This was a high-end villa community with security patrols, but if word got out that there were four billion worth of artifacts here, this level of security would mean nothing. Even heavily guarded museums got robbed.

As she spoke, Fang Chenyi was already leading the way into the villa. Just as he opened the courtyard gate, a black shadow shot out toward them.

Fang Chenyi instinctively pulled Bai Menghan behind him, ready to throw a punch.

However, after an excited bark echoed out, Fang Chenyi lowered his raised fist.

He gave Er Gouzi’s head a light, annoyed slap as the dog draped itself over him, chiding it. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Get off, get off. Damn, you scared me."

After he spoke, he glanced back at Bai Menghan. "See? With this guy around, if a thief really does show up, he’ll at least give us a warning."

Once inside the living room, Char respectfully asked if the boss needed dinner. At his words, Fang Chenyi and Bai Menghan glanced at each other, both suddenly aware of their hunger. They had been so busy for so long without a proper meal, and Char’s question made their stomachs rumble.

After asking Char to prepare dinner, Fang Chenyi pulled Bai Menghan into the bathroom.

After a long, comfortable shower and a change into fresh clothes, more than two hours had passed.

Back in the living room, Fang Chenyi called Char, who soon wheeled in a serving cart.

Once Char and his staff had left, Fang Chenyi looked at the delicious spread before him and began to dig in with gusto. As he ate, he noticed Bai Menghan sitting there, staring at him with a reproachful look. He asked, a little confused:

"Xiao Hanhan, aren’t you hungry? Come on, eat. Old Cha and his team’s cooking has gotten even better. Here, try this. It’s delicious."

Bai Menghan shot Fang Chenyi a harsh glare, then set down her chopsticks and grumbled irritably:

"Hmph! My mouth is sore. I’m not eating!"

Fang Chenyi froze for a second when he heard her. Then he looked at her small, still-reddened lips and instantly understood. A look of pained affection on his face, he pulled her into a gentle embrace and said softly:

"Oh, it’s all my fault, all my fault. Next time, I promise we’ll wait until after dinner. Here, open wide. I’ll feed you."

By the time they finished eating, it was already past midnight. After waiting on Bai Menghan hand and foot until she was asleep, Fang Chenyi gave a sheepish grin as he glanced at her still-red lips. ’Heh, a little inexperienced the first time around. I’ll do better in the future.’

The past two days had been mentally exhausting, so Fang Chenyi didn’t go out into the community to scavenge for junk. Instead, he simply closed his eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning, Bai Menghan got up and left for school, leaving Fang Chenyi to sleep in until the sun was high in the sky.

He slept until he woke up naturally. After washing up and brushing his teeth, he went downstairs. One phone call later, Char wheeled in a cart with a delicious meal.

Full and content, he lounged in the sunroom, basking in the sunlight. Life was good. It couldn’t be more relaxing and comfortable.

Lying in the rocking chair, Fang Chenyi suddenly remembered something. He reached out and picked up the woven bag at his side.

He sat up a little straighter, opened the bag, and started to sort through its contents.

The woven bag contained ten cubic meters of space, like a small warehouse. It held various special reward items, as well as anything else Fang Chenyi wanted to store, so he made a habit of organizing it from time to time.

He pulled out a large stack of contracts and documents, reviewed them, sorted them into categories, and put them back.

He also took out the keys to several villas in the area and tossed them aside. ’No need for these unnecessary things to waste space in my bag.’

After tidying up one corner of the bag’s space, he gave a casual tug and pulled out a life-sized, hyper-realistic doll.

"What the hell, this isn’t an inflatable! This thing’s heavy, it must weigh sixty or seventy pounds! Where the hell am I supposed to get rid of it?"

Staring at the doll, which looked exactly like a real person, Fang Chenyi was at a loss. ’If I just toss this thing somewhere, whoever finds it will think it’s a dead body.’

Resigned, he placed the thing on the adjacent lounge chair for the time being and went back to organizing the woven bag.

CLICK.

"Heh, you sure know how to live, don’t you? Have you seen my review materials, Chenyi? Huh? Who’s that?"
