Rowen Hale, one of their eight major stars, had also left them and signed with Ember.

Ember was on cloud nine thanks to this. After all, Rowen Hale was one of the most influential and respected actors in the whole entertainment industry.

With him under her agency, her influence received a boost, solidifying her position above others.

Aren didn’t know why, but Ember had begun to call him just to bitch around or share her achievements. Like when she acquired Rowen Hale, she called him to share the news.

And now, she called him to bitch about Scarlet.

"Scarlet has approached Aden Stokes, Adrian Jones, and Cassian Law. I heard she even offered them better conditions than me." Ember said in a displeased tone.

"But why do you call me to say all this?" Aren asked with a puzzled sigh.

"What do you mean why? Wasn’t it you who said I could poach all the celebrities from Titan Crest Entertainment if I listened to you?"

Aren rested his face in his palm tiredly. "I didn’t mean you will get ’every’ celebrity. After all, it depends on the offers you make whether the celebrities will sign with you or not. How can I be blamed if some celebrities choose other agencies because of better offers? Moreover, how could I have known that Miss Scarlet would gather the money this fast?"

"Hey, why are you addressing Scarlet as Miss Scarlet?" Ember said in a slightly offended tone. "Just call her Scarlet. No need to show her this much respect."

"Miss Ember, I cannot do that," Aren said in a humble tone. "I’m merely a newbie actor. You and Miss Scarlet are chairwomen of powerful agencies and streaming platforms. You belong to one of the most powerful families of the country. I cannot afford to offend either of you."

"Oh?" Ember’s tone suddenly turned amused. "Then didn’t you think I would be offended when you asked for ten percent profits? And what about the time when you came with Linda? You called Scarlet smarter than me, on.my.face."

"Miss Ember, there was nothing to get offended about." Aren said, voice amiable, "Ten percent profits was just my rightful compensation. As for when I called Miss Scarlet smarter, I said it to get your attention. After all, you weren’t even listening to my deal. No intelligent person would get offended by such small things, right?"

Aren was emphasizing that if Ember was intelligent, she wouldn’t get offended. After all, he couldn’t afford to make an enemy out of her. She was like a double-edged sword. He had to tread carefully around her; otherwise, she might cut him instead of his enemies.

"Yes, you’re right," Ember laughed lightly. "I’m not offended. I even feel grateful that you came to me with that deal. After I acquired so many celebrities, my grandfather praised me for the first time, and that too, in front of the whole family. It had never happened before."

"Congratulations, then," Aren said politely before making an excuse to disconnect the call, "I need to prepare for shooting. I haven’t understood my role yet. So I’ll need to end the call."

"No, wait. I forbid you from ending the call."

However, Aren still disconnected the call despite her warning. He would just say he didn’t hear her voice and ended up cutting the call.

However, just when he thought it was over, her call came.

Now, he was in a predicament.

Should he pick up?

If he didn’t, she might get offended.

Does he have a choice?

Realizing that he had no other choice, he picked up her call.

"Hey, why did you cut the call when I forbade you?" Ember’s displeased voice came.

"I didn’t hear your voice then."

"Whatever, listen to my full story. I’ll not allow you to cut the call before that." Ember demanded.

"But why, Miss Ember?" Aren asked tiredly. "Aren’t you busy?"

"I’m very busy, but I also need to tell you this."

Ember then began to recount how her grandfather praised her in front of the whole family. Even her father, the chairman of Sun Automotive, was proud of her.

Meanwhile, the other family members, like her aunt, the chairwoman of Sun Cosmetics and beauty products, were envious. She never received any praises from Ember’s grandfather.

Similarly, Ember was the first among her siblings to receive such praises.

Since Phoenix group was their direct rival, they had never defeated them so cleanly before.

Moreover, due to this scandal, Sun Group’s image also improved in people’s minds, making them prefer products from the Sun Group over Phoenix’s.

Her grandfather was all praises.

For around an hour, Aren had to listen to her while thinking inside:

’Why do I have to hear all this? Does she not have any friends?’
