Relentless Pursuit After Divorce
Chapter 1776: Memory Confusion
Helen Melendy’s heart ached fiercely, and her complexion turned a few shades paler.
The face of that woman was the same one she had just seen.
What is the matter with this memory?
Was the woman just now Harry Hall’s ex-girlfriend, or was it her brain’s memory confusion, mixing people up?
But if there was no such memory, why would her mind have such a vague yet incredibly real fragment, as if she had witnessed it herself?
"Helen? Helen?"
Harry Hall’s voice suddenly rang out in front of her, interrupting her thoughts.
She suddenly snapped back to reality and met Harry Hall’s eyes, filled with worry that couldn’t possibly be feigned.
"Huh?"
"What’s wrong? I’ve been calling you for a long time with no response."
He leaned down to touch her cheek, "Your complexion doesn’t look good either."
Helen Melendy recalled the image that had just appeared in her mind, then looked again at the overflowing concern in Harry Hall’s eyes. After hesitating for a moment, she shook her head and said:
"I seemed to remember some things from the past, but they’re blurry, and I couldn’t clearly recall what they were."
She glossed over it with a brief and perfunctory explanation.
Perhaps it was indeed her memory being muddled, because after seeing that face, she subconsciously integrated it into the image from earlier.
Perhaps the woman in the image was herself.
She remembered Elly telling her that she and Harry Hall had been together since college, and Harry had no other women besides her; Elly wouldn’t lie to her.
She didn’t want to be affected by such an unfounded memory, nor did she want to cause unnecessary trouble for Harry Hall because of such an image, so she decided not to mention it again.
Harry Hall noticed that her complexion was still a bit pale. He could sense that she was brushing off his question, but he didn’t think too much about it, only wondering if she might have recalled moments from when she was stabbed.
That incident still terrified him when he thought about it, let alone her.
Worried that her mood might be affected, Harry Hall quickly said:
"It’s okay, if you can’t remember, just let it go. Maybe you’ll gradually recall things from the past in the future."
"Hmm."
Helen Melendy nodded and stopped thinking about the image, and with the shop assistant’s help, she changed out of the wedding dress.
The two of them chose a style that Elly Campbell had helped pick before, handed it to the shop assistant, and then left.
The closer the wedding approached, the more Harry Hall beamed with joy, which even made life a bit easier for his subordinates, the Hall Clan’s partners, and even the Richards Clan.
Leanne Richards had probed Harry Hall’s temper several times, causing her brother to stumble repeatedly, and eventually she genuinely settled down.
No matter how unwilling she was to let Helen Melendy marry into the Hall Family, she didn’t dare to say a word in front of Harry Hall, though she often cursed Helen behind her back.
Of course, she used to be estranged from her son, but their relationship had not deteriorated to such a degree before.
For the sake of her future well-being, she still attempted to mend her relationship with her son, and to give her brother a hand.
So, after some days passed, she proactively went to the Hall Clan to repair the relationship with Harry Hall.
The easiest step for a mother to reconcile with her son is to bring him food, show concern, and inquire about his well-being.
Although Harry Hall wasn’t the slightest bit moved, he didn’t make things too difficult for her either.
"Harry, please don’t blame me for always having a problem with Helen Melendy. It’s not that I’m against her, it’s just..."
