Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master
Chapter 1571: The Worm King
Yet when William joined the fight and watched how the masters started to fight following the orders of their leader, William could tell this time would be different.
Armed with the experience of the first fight, the leading master already shared his experience with other masters. He didn’t stop just there, he even placed a few tactics and ideas to fight the monsters based on the different elements his masters had.
He picked the earth element masters to stay on one side, intervene only when the worms would roar and start showering everyone with rocks. These masters would intervene at this point, form either umbrellas of rocks or try to affect the falling rocks over the heads of the masters to either change their direction or make them turn into smaller-sized rubble that wouldn’t harm anyone.
Seeing this made William smile, inwardly commending this master for his smart wits. As for William, he started using his first technique right from the get-go, killing one worm every one minute. Like before, he killed all the worms and left two for the masters to handle.
This time, he knew the fight wouldn’t be tough or that deadly for the masters. The lack of a single death even after the passage of ten minutes spoke volumes about how good progress his master’s was undergoing.
Then he moved to other spots, where he noticed similar situations from his masters there.
William thought he would need to shoulder most of the work and fights till the worm king would arrive. But it seemed that after this battle, his intervention wouldn’t be needed a lot. In fact, after the end of this battle, his intervention would be so minimal that he wouldn’t even need to fight at all.
Fang took over this role from his shoulders, moving from one spot to another in the subsequent battles, aiding the different master teams and making sure to make the fights swifter.
Even when each wave consisted of over fifteen worms at the same time, his masters never struggled. Seeing such progress that was developed over the course of three days made William feel pride.
After all, these masters were the most elite masters picked from his guild and different worlds. They represented the top talents in lots of lower realms. And something told William that his simple plan might yield more surprises in the future.
William planned that once he established himself in the upper realm after ascension, he would start looking for the future big names and recruit them early on. But now, he started to see hope in his guild masters to develop many prodigies and strong masters in the future.
As the situation was progressing more smoothly, turning from deadly situations into training camp style, something new developed.
The worm king arrived. And to make things worse, it didn’t arrive alone; the thunderous birds appeared.
The first to come was the worm king. The king didn’t come in the normal entourage of fifteen monsters; it appeared with around fifty worms.
William knew it was here just from the fierce shakings that came with it. If the normal worms developed shakings enough to make the ground tremble underneath their feet, the worm king’s shakings were strong enough to make a few masters lose their footing and fall to the ground.
Recognising what was coming, William instantly sprang into action. He instantly dashed towards the direction where the worm king would appear, followed closely by Fang and his group.
"Do you know what is coming?" Seeing William move after an entire day of staying stagnant told Fang that something big was coming.
"It’s the worm king," William said, "make sure to use your strongest attacks right from the start. There will be a bigger worm this time, with a few others slightly bigger than others, but a bit smaller than the biggest one. Attack any worm, but leave those bigger ones to me."
"Sure," Fang knew acting brave at this point wasn’t going to help at all. So he followed William’s orders and plans to the letter.
And when he and the other masters arrived at where the worm king and its entourage were, he realised how tough the situation was.
There wasn’t a small number of fifteen worms, but a staggering fifty. On top of that, ten of these were way bigger than others, with one that was obviously bigger, having three heads that each threw rocks over the heads of the masters.
Yet the rocks weren’t just simple rocks. Some were ignited by fire, others were covered by sharp, icy spikes. Each head unleashed different forms of the rocks.
Yet to William, this wasn’t a problem at all. He knew the worm king was so hard to handle, especially when it was protected by the elite worms on its side.
The elite worms were worms at the upper limit of the white grade, very close to step into the green realm. And yet, they looked menacing and deadly, especially with their two heads.
William left the other one-headed worms to Fang and other masters, and focused entirely on the worm king and the elites around it. Fighting them was too much even for him, but luckily, he was already at the green grade.
That made him fight the worm king without any speck of worry. If it were a higher grade, like blue or even silver, then William would use another alternative method to fight these worms.
But he adopted a more direct approach, simply evading the falling rocks while launching his two techniques in succession, one after the other.
The second technique would engulf two or even three worms together, clearing a path for him to pass through, while he would attack and kill the worms using his first technique.
Thanks to the annoyance from the many heads that rained down different types of rocks over his head, his killing speed decreased. After five minutes, he managed to kill his first worm, and it was a very remarkable feat in his eyes.
