Bell slowly opened his eyes and forced himself to sit up, his head hurt. His eyes widened as he looked around and noticed that he wasn’t in a forest.

The sky, for some reason, looked like it was made with sand mixed with rocks and it was closer to the ground, much more closer. No, it wasn’t the sky. He was in a cave!.

It looked similar to the mine in Drakenforge but it looks smaller, the wall had some kind of blue crystal that emitted light. Except from that, it was completely empty.

He looked around and thankfully, Ryu was just waking up. Bell ran to her and helped her to her feet.

"Are you okay?"

Ryu nodded and asked. "Where are we, big brother?"

"I don’t know" Bell replied, looking around. "It seems like we’re in a cave, but I don’t know how we got here"

Ryu still maintained her calmness, she took a few steps and pointed into the darkness. "There is something that way, let’s not go there"

Bell smiled awkwardly and picked up their bag. "But Ryu, that’s the only way out"

"It is?" Ryu asked, sounding rather surprised.

Bell opened his system and a window immediately popped up into his face.

[Player failed the quest]

[Player had been transported into a E-ranked dungeon]

[Beat dungeon boss to leave]

_that was rather easier than he thought_

"It must be some kind of trick, maybe part of the exam" Bell lied, but for some reason, Ryu didn’t look convinced.

"But I didn’t sense being moved"

"Now’s not the time to think about it, let’s just keep moving" Bell said and held Ryu’s hand and walked into the darkness.

_the punishment is just getting started_

Bell and his sister, Ryu had been walking for a while with nothing but shining crystals in the cave. Bell had taken a little piece he saw on the ground, it might be valuable.

They walked for some few minutes before Ryu suddenly stopped which immediately alerted her brother. He pulled out his dagger and stood in front of his sister, looking into the darkness.

"Not yet..." Bell heard Ryu whispered.

"Huh?"

"They are some monster in there" Ryu whispered. "About eight of them"

Reading the room, Bell also whispered as he asked.

"How far are they from us?"

"Not sure"

_thought so_ Bell thought and sighed. "We’ll approach quietly and take them out"

Ryu nodded, feeling part of the plan.

Bell slowly approached the darkness with Ryu closely behind, soon he was able to hear some grunting coming from the shadows.

His grip on Ryu’s hand tightens as they slowly walked toward the monsters, bell was sure it had heard monsters like that before. As he reach where the goblins were, he noticed that there was no way leading out of there.

The goblins were similar to the one he had fought at the forest, but they were a bit smaller and some of them were red. They were all dressed in same dirty rags and equipped with wooden clubs and short swords, all six of them.

At first, Bell was reluctant but he still walked in, it was like the cave which he had came through was waiting for him to walk out because it immediately crumbled, blocking the only way out.

Because of the noise, the goblins immediately noticed him and rushed towards him in frenzy. Bell quickly pulled out his dagger and stood in front of his sister with his weapon ready to strike.

[Punishment starts now]

[Wave: 1/10]

The first goblin to attack was a green one, equipped with a club. Bell blocked it with his arm and the club scattered as it came in contact with arm, the goblin seemed surprised and tried to jump backward but Bell grabbed its arm and stabbed it in the face.

The red one came in with a upward slash but Bell shifted back, knocking down Ryu by mistake and tried to retaliate but the goblins dodged and a green goblin was able to swoop in and stab Bell in his right arm. He dropped his dagger as the pain shock through his arm but held the green goblin by the neck and with all the the force he could muster, he slammed it against the red goblin, scattering their head on the ground.

He activated his [rage] skill and evaded another red goblin before stabbing it from behind and throw it body at the rest, and immediately attacked them with their visions blocked.

Some portals opened from the medium of the space and more goblins came out from it.

Bell fell to his knees, his arm bleeding and he was completely out of mana, and for some reason he wasn’t gaining any experience point from the monster he killed so far.

His body suddenly glowed in a bright green light and suddenly, he felt refreshed. His wounds slowly covered up but his mana didn’t come back.

He turned to look behind him, surprised by what happened. Ryu was still where he had told her to stay with her arms pointed toward him, she closed her eyes eyes and recited some spell but it didn’t work. She opened her eyes with a shocked expression as she looked around.

_i didn’t know she can cast spell like that_ Bell thought as he turned back to the portal that just opened. _she must not know about the cooldown when using a spell_

The new portal was wider that the ones he had seen, and also taller. A monster walked out of the portal.

It was some kind of goblin but unlike the rest, it was bigger, wore less clothing and was equipped with a helmet and a huge machete. Then another one into the cave and the portal closed.

They were ogres!

Bell quickly rushed them, it was better he attacked first and killed them before they get close to Ryu.

The first ogre attack with with it machete but thankfully, they were slower than the goblins so he was able to slip pass it and slashed the knee.

The ogre fell to the ground as Bell immediately jumped on top of it and was about to cut its neck but the other ogre attacked, he dodged the attack and the ogre’s weapon slashed through his partners neck, killing it instantly.
