Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 852: What Can The Consorts Do?
The large lioness had her piercing yellow eyes wide open as she observed her vicinity with firm vigilance and a strong gaze.
They solidified around her body but when she noticed the blonde-haired man walking toward her, she seemed to melt.
"Your Majesty..." Katari muttered. Her strong facial expression crumbled when Kael came close to her and the coldness and emptiness she had been harbouring within her heart were washed away.
"Katari," Kael said with a sigh. For someone who did not have any genuine emotions toward anyone, he sure was absurdly excited to see Katari.
Why wouldn’t he? Even cold-hearted corporate bosses would miss their highest-performing employee.
His most competent Consort. If anyone deserved his affection, if he ever had one, it would be Katari.
"Welcome back, Your Majesty," Katari said with a slight smile.
"I could say the same for you," Kael said.
At this time, the other consorts in the room were also waking up.
Alora, Nalii, Priya, N’bayé, Eidel, Chloe, Olivia, Diane, Memphis, Wei, Zabita, and Katari.
They were all here. Except for Ruda, all of Kael’s official consorts were here.
One by one, they all greeted Kael.
Sensing that the atmosphere here may be a bit uncomfortable, Kael flicked his fingers and caused the sticky atmosphere to get flushed out of the room.
"Kael, thank you..." Nalii said as she held Kael’s hand after her body was cleaned.
All of them transformed into their humanoid forms and wore their various attire.
Chloe who had made it back for her evolution at the last minute got really close to Kael. She was the one who had spent the most time away from Kael among all of them and desperately wanted to resume her clinginess once again.
"It’s all fine, your strengths benefit me. I hope you all will make yourselves more useful now that you have no excuses," Kael said blandly.
N’bayé raised an eyebrow, Katari didn’t show any reaction, but the others wore looks of eagerness.
They didn’t find Kael’s words offensive, they couldn’t. In fact, they were a little excited to go out and test out their new power levels.
Even Alora who was usually cold had a bright blue glint in her eyes as she looked at Kael.
The power that they had gained with this evolution was so unique and it was worth appreciating.
"Let’s go," Kael said as he turned away and walked to the vacant door.
He would like to see for himself what they could do, even though he already knew what they could do.
"What about Ruda?" Eidel suddenly asked as she followed Kael with the rest.
As they walked, the space around them began to twist and turn, folding on itself like a curtain.
Before Kael reached the door, the scenery around them had changed completely. No longer were they in the room, now they were on top of the Apex Pyramid, where the throne hall was supposed to be.
"Ruda?" Kael raised his eyebrows as he stared at the sky and the distant horizon where cracks were repeatedly appearing and disappearing again and again.
Phestus was hard at work, keeping Kael confident in his long-term plans.
Thinking about the number of ownerless Heavenly Beacons that were being created right now, Kael felt satisfied. A few complicated variables here and there but they didn’t know what Kael had in store for them.
Unlike them, he had long given up on following those silly rules.
"Katari, you can bring Ruda back," Kael said as he turned around and looked at Katari.
Katari frowned for a second before relaxing her expression. Kael was right.
The other Consorts looked at her. Memphis and N’bayé were especially scrutinizing every one of Katari’s actions for different reasons.
Katari brought her hand to her face. She held up her middle finger and her thumb, pressing them together.
The space around her was condensed into a transparent visible vibrating armlet with these simple motions from her.
Conquering Essence flowed in her body, recharging her cells and boosting them all to enormous extremes.
*SNAP!*
Katari snapped her fingers. Instantly, the aura of an immortal leaked out, bursting out of Katari and blowing away all the particles at the top of the pyramid.
The consorts were all stunned. But they were even more flabbergasted by what happened almost instantly.
"What?" A familiar voice exclaimed in confusion.
Ruda looked around, finding herself standing on top of a gigantic megastructure with a golden sky hanging high above her head.
She was still wearing the outfit she got from the City of London.
Tight, black, sleeveless crop top, black joggers, a purple sweater tied around her curvy waist, and a face cap with the same colour theme.
It was...fashionable.
Just now, she had been talking with Kael’s clone in Planet Gadi after waking up from her slumber and they were in the middle of a discussion when the space around her folded without warning.
Before Ruda could assess what was happening, she was in Leonine Heaven. Just like that.
No heavenly gate, just pure connection between two avatars, a Space Lionheart acting as a medium.
How could that have been possible? Even Katari was unsure as she just followed her instinct and did what she felt she could do.
Kael looked at them. Now, they were all in the same place at the same time.
There was no need to greet Ruda again, but the other consorts definitely missed her. Especially Eidel.
Eidel rushed forward and gave Ruda a bear hug, burying her head into her sister’s shoulder.
Eidel and Ruda no longer looked alike. Where before she and Eidel were practically identical except for the colour theme and different fashion styles, now they didn’t even look alike.
Harbouring the genes of her human father and mother, it was expected that she would not look the same anymore.
Thankfully, the memories she had inherited from her past life through the system were enough to bridge that gap.
When Eidel hugged her again, Ruda could not help but remember the very moment her chest was pierced through, when Eidel had run over, crying and trying to save her.
It was a really dark moment because they had all thought that she would die.
Yet, here she was, all because of Kael.
Ruda, gently, wrapped her arms around Eidel. So what if they no longer looked alike? They were still proud sisters belonging to the same Pride Leader. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Soon, Nalii came and also joined in on the hug, Olivia and Diane followed.
The rest like Zabita, Wei, Alora, and N’bayé just looked on without doing anything. They too were glad that Ruda was back...kind of.
Katari and Memphis kept to themselves for obvious reasons. Memphis was still occupying her mind with the study of her power level while Katari was carefully studying the logs of the lion system to understand completely what had happened.
Both of them were ready for action.
Sensing that time was of the essence, a speedy telepathic message was shared amongst them and they all released themselves from the hug, looking back at Kael who had been observing them calmly.
He had allowed them their time.
"Kael, what about the lions on Planet Gadi?" Ruda asked at this moment. Those lions, although still trapped in humanoid forms, were lions at the end of the day.
Kael nodded, "I’ve already started leading them into Leonine Heaven. The new Primordials will soon be taken care of by their respective vassal administrators.
The world outside the Alphaverse...is not safe."
Hearing this, all of them nodded their heads. They didn’t even ask why, they just agreed. They were not blind and they could see the significance of what Kael was doing.
Just the one particular news about the Heavenly Breakout alone was enough to cause outrage. Talk more about the Alphaverse, invading and conquering the Hive Heaven, and breaking so many rules.
"What do you need us to do, Kael?" Katari asked.
Kael brushed his gaze upon all of them. Before he answered, he had to arrange all that was happening right now in his mind.
The Hive Heaven was conquered but there was a Gap Entrance right now and it was looking like the Divine Factions were about to get their hands dirty.
From Kael’s observation, not everyone would fight for the universe. Actually, some wanted a piece of the pie themselves. Kael suspected that the Court of Reincarnation was part of the second group.
Selfishness ruled all.
For now, Kael did not have any immediate treatment for those variables, and some of his other preparations will have to come forward if he wanted to do anything.
Next was the Ancient Felines. Those ones would definitely not sit back after what Kael did to them in Original Heaven. They may not admit it to themselves but Kael had made it personal now.
At least, Kael knew them as his enemies. And being aware that they were his enemies allowed him to be able to prepare. Offence or defense, it didn’t matter since Kael was going all out and he was not going to stop until they ceased to exist.
But those were his enemies in the open, what about his enemies in the dark? What about his enemies that had not yet announced themselves?
Well, with the stunt Kael was pulling these days, it was expected that they would soon make themselves known.
Gabriel? Kael had not heard from him since he had been forced to cast him out of Leonine Heaven.
He would have preferred that Gabriel be killed at that time but none had the chance or the opportunity to do such a thing. No one knew where Gabriel was or what he was doing.
’Hmm,’ Kael creased his brows. Wasn’t Gabriel the hidden ally of the Ancient Felines? He was telling one they had chosen to betray them all.
Surely, if he could deal with the Ancient Felines, then finding Gabriel should also be a possibility.
Silently, Kael shifted the Ancient Felines to a high-priority concept and was already drafting a mission to be posted on the mission board.
Alas, that was not all.
