Chapter 294: Chapter 110: Jing Qi Gives Qin Mei a Passbook

"This is insane! What am I seeing? Oh my god! The Fourth Wife of Jing is incredible. She can even cure a disability."

"Heavens! It’s really true!" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The neighbors in the alley all came out to see for themselves.

"What kind of wife did Jing Si marry? She’s so incredible, she actually healed Jing Qi’s legs."

News that Qin Mei had healed Jing Qi’s paralyzed legs spread through the alley in an instant.

Faced with the neighbors’ inquiries, Jie Jingshan simply told the truth without embellishment, while Qin Mei just smiled and said nothing.

Back home, Qin Mei rubbed her cheeks, which were stiff from smiling so much. Jing Qi’s legs were the best testament to her abilities, but this wave of publicity was exhausting. Although she hadn’t said a thing—Jing Qi had done all the talking while she just smiled along—even just smiling was tiring.

"Jing Qi, I’m going to my room to nap for a while," Qin Mei said to Jie Jingshan with a yawn. Instead of pushing Jing Qi back to her room, she simply grabbed the two new sets of clothes—one for her and one for Jie Jingchen—and headed to her own room.

Qin Mei tossed the newly bought clothes onto a chair, went into the bathroom to change into her pajamas, washed her face and feet, then got into bed to sleep.

She had only meant to sleep for an hour, but she’d gone to bed late last night and been woken up early by Granny. Qin Mei fell fast asleep and didn’t wake up even after two hours.

When Jie Jingchen got home from work, Qin Mei still hadn’t woken up. The door to their room wasn’t locked from the inside. Jie Jingchen frowned. ’She remembers to remind Jing Qi, but forgets to do it herself,’ he thought.

He looked at Qin Mei sleeping soundly and was about to wake her, but seeing her peaceful expression, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He decided to let her sleep and wake her when dinner was ready.

Jie Jingchen left the room, quietly closing the door behind him, and headed for the kitchen.

Standing in the kitchen, Jie Jingchen was at a loss. Qin Mei hadn’t bought any groceries, and neither had he. What were they going to eat? ’Surely we can’t just eat plain rice?’

"Fourth Brother!" Jie Jingjue ran into the kitchen, his excitement palpable. He grabbed Jie Jingchen’s hand. "Fourth Brother, I have great news to tell you!"

Jie Jingchen’s brow furrowed. His amber eyes were devoid of any emotion as he shook off Jie Jingjue’s hand. "What great news?"

"Fourth Sister-in-law cured Jing Qi’s legs!" Jie Jingjue announced, practically bursting with excitement.

Jie Jingchen scoffed, a hint of mockery in his eyes. "Jing Qi told you?"

"Fourth Brother, what’s that supposed to mean?" Jie Jingjue’s expression soured.

Jie Jingchen arched a sharp brow, his lips forming a thin line. Looking at Jie Jingjue as if he were an idiot, he lied without batting an eye. "Qin Mei is my wife. We don’t have secrets."

Jie Jingjue was rendered speechless by Jie Jingchen’s words. He gritted his teeth and said defiantly, "Jing Qi said I was the first person she told."

"She lied to you," Jie Jingchen said, crushing his brother’s spirit without a shred of mercy.

"Impossible, Jing Qi wouldn’t lie to... me..." Jie Jingjue’s voice trailed off. He wasn’t so confident anymore. The old Jing Qi would never have lied to him, but the Jing Qi of today... ’it’s hard to say!’

"Is that so?" Jie Jingchen arched an eyebrow, thoroughly amused.

Losing his nerve, Jie Jingjue still puffed out his chest. "That’s not important! What’s important is that Jing Qi’s legs are healed."

Jie Jingchen said nothing, as he agreed with that point.

"Fourth Brother, Fourth Sister-in-law cured Jing Qi’s legs. She’s my savior. From now on, for the rest of my life, I’m her man," Jie Jingjue declared.

Jie Jingchen’s face instantly turned cold, his eyes darkening. His low voice carried a bone-chilling iciness. "Jie Jingjue, watch your words."

"Did I say something wrong?" Jie Jingjue asked, completely oblivious to the danger.

"What do you think?" Jie Jingchen’s tone was glacial, and a storm was brewing in his eyes.
