Reborn as the Dragon King's Son-In-Law
Chapter 34: Distant Nephew?
In a living room in the castle of the Dragonia Kingdom, a handsome young man with fiery red hair sat and talked with the Dragon King, Lucius La. Lucifer. As the head of the Lucifer family, Lucius’s duty was to greet this uninvited guest and entertain him in the palace.
The status of the young man before Lucius was not that of a noble, unlike the young master of the Skylord family. After all, the status of the young man in front of Lucius was that of the oldest and strongest young master of the Vermillion family. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Charles S. Vermillion was the name of the young man. As a man of the same generation as Athena and Elize, Charles’s strength was much greater than that of the average young dragon in the Dragon Realm.
The only dragon of the younger generation who could defeat Charles was Athena. But Athena completely ignored Charles’s arrival. However, Athena was currently not in the palace and was still traveling to carry out her duties outside the kingdom.
Actually, Athena already knew what had happened in the Dragonia Kingdom. It had been more than four months since the young master of the Vermillion family visited the Dragon King’s family residence. As the eldest daughter of the Dragon King, Athena did not like Charles at all, as he was too arrogant about his status as a distant relative.
"Greetings, Uncle. Please accept this small gift from me. I haven’t visited you for almost a month. By the way, where is Ms. Athena? I really want to see her."
"Sigh... Charles, why do you still come to visit us almost every month? Isn’t the agreement still two months away? Please return to your place right now. Even though you are my wife’s nephew, you are no different from Lilith’s distant nephew. It is not worth visiting us so often. If it weren’t for you having a talent that defies the common sense of living beings, you wouldn’t have the opportunity to visit this palace as you please."
For some reason, a cold laugh came out of Charles’s mouth. The arrogant attitude shown by Lucius was not a big problem for Charles. On the other hand, Charles realized that his uncle truly hated him as a guest.
The status of the Vermillion family in the Dragonia Kingdom was that of distant relatives of the royal family. But their power was no lower than that of an empire. Therefore, they had the power to trample every noble within the Dragonia Kingdom.
Lilith’s relationship with the Vermillion family was only that of a distant relative. But Lilith belonged to the older generation that existed before the Vermillion family was even established in the Dragon Realm. Unfortunately, almost all members of the Vermillion family considered themselves to be the closest nephews of the Dragon Queen.
In reality, from Lilith’s point of view, the Vermillion family was no more than ants that she could step on at any time. Lilith’s power was enough for her to return the Vermillion family to the time when they were first created. But Lilith felt a little pity for all the members of the Vermillion family. Even though they were just bullies trying to get closer to Lilith, they were still her distant relatives.
It would not be a good thing if Lilith intervened directly to destroy the Vermillion family. Even Lucius knew what his wife wanted to do to the Vermillion family. Instead of being afraid of and worried about his wife’s power, Lucius decided to let his wife do as she pleased.
Even though the citizens considered Lucius to be the main pillar who would protect the Dragonia Kingdom, Lucius realized that Lilith was the true pillar who had protected the Dragonia Kingdom in the past. If it weren’t for Lilith, it would have been impossible for the Dragonia Kingdom to survive the war that occurred hundreds of years ago.
An involuntary cough came out of Lucius’s mouth. Lucius’s previously cold expression turned lazy. Recalling the image of that stupid man, Lucius couldn’t help but hope that the man could finish his training on time and come out of it soon.
From the start, Lucius did not hate his future son-in-law and did not consider him to be a nuisance. On the contrary, Lucius considered his future son-in-law to be a promising man who could protect Athena and the others from attacks by outsiders.
Lucius’s only wish at this time was for his son-in-law to succeed in improving his strength after this six-month training period. Although six months was a short time for anyone to begin training, Lucien’s talent was enough for him to increase his strength much faster than the average living being in the entire world.
"Please don’t joke around, Your Majesty. I visited this place only because I wanted to give Your Majesty a chance."
"What other chance? Don’t tell me you want to bribe me just so I will give you my beloved daughter?"
"That could be said. But it is not exactly like that. I didn’t come here just to discuss that. Rather, I want Your Majesty’s future son-in-law to give up the match in the next two months. Otherwise, I probably won’t hesitate to kill that human brat."
The word "kill" that came out of Charles’s mouth was not a good thing for Lucius. Suddenly, killing intent surged out of Lucius’s body and reached the outside of the palace. Even the guards and servants in the palace could feel Lucius’s powerful killing intent.
"Are you serious? Brat, you underestimate that human too much. You’ll regret it later..."
Charles’s face turned cold. The two guards standing outside the entrance immediately entered the guest room without hesitation and began to protect their master. But Lucius showed no further reaction towards Charles. Instead, he stood up and walked out of the living room.
"Belittling my son-in-law is no different from insulting the Kingdom of Dragonia. The heir of Lord Velvet God is being belittled by this damn brat? How dare he! Who does he think he is? Ck!"
After Lucius left, a sly smile formed on Charles’s lips. Previously, what Charles had done was merely an act to see the reaction Lucius would show if he threatened to kill his future son-in-law. However, Charles had no idea what Lucien’s status was from Lucius’s perspective.
"Young Master, are you okay?! The killing intent released by the Dragon King almost made us lose consciousness. I’m afraid he will soon break through to the next stage..."
"That’s none of our business. Our sole purpose in coming to the Dragonia Kingdom was to see the old man’s reaction. Even if the old man had reached the peak of the Dragon Emperor stage, he wouldn’t have the chance to break through to the Dragon Overlord stage in just two months. It would probably take at least dozens of years."
Charles’s two guards looked at each other. Although they were confused by their young master’s calm reaction, they believed that no one in the same generation as Charles could defeat him, especially a human.
"Hehe. There’s no need to worry, Young Master. That human is absolutely no match for you. I’m sure that before the fight starts, Young Master will be able to reach the Great Dragon King stage!"
