Reborn as a Landlord
Chapter 255 - 133 Lian Yeye Vents_2
Lian Yeye was just about to burst out with a bellyful of words when Lian Manman waved her hand to stop her.
"Sister Huahua, do you need Yeye to tell you what you’ve done?" Lian Manman sneered, "Today, it’s not Yeye who needs to speak, it’s you who need to give Yeye an explanation."
"Yes, Sister Huahua, you tell us what to do," Lian Yeye nodded.
"What, what to do?" Lian Huahua said, darting her eyes around.
"Sister Huahua, that’s not right. If you don’t plan to talk here, then let’s go back to the house," Lian Manman said, reaching to pull Lian Yeye away, pretending to leave, "Yeye has steeled herself, are you willing to do the same, Sister Huahua?"
"Wait, let’s just talk here," Lian Huahua hastily stopped the two of them. Yeye wasn’t afraid of begging, but she was scared of not being able to marry into the Song Family.
Lian Manman and Lian Yeye both looked at Lian Huahua.
Lian Huahua, after all, was not like Lady Gu, who could shamelessly maintain a thick skin; biting her lip for a long time, she hadn’t started speaking, but her face turned bright red. However, she knew that she couldn’t evade today’s matter without conceding.
"Yeye, about that day, I did you wrong. I didn’t want to..." Lian Huahua finally said, biting her lip.
Lian Manman rolled her eyes secretly. Lian Huahua still wasn’t being honest.
"Sister Huahua, there’s no one else here. Can’t you just tell the truth? Who doesn’t know what’s on your mind? You and yours planned long ago to make Yeye take the blame, yet you say you didn’t want this to happen." Lian Manman retorted.
"This matter, I didn’t consider thoroughly... We are family, we all understand, no one’s blaming you, right? This... this isn’t such a bad thing," Lian Huahua tried to defend.
"If it’s not really a bad thing, why is it Yeye, and not Auntie, not Sis, and not Duoduo?" Lian Manman immediately asked.
"This..." Lian Huahua was tongue-tied. Though she claimed this wasn’t a bad thing, she knew it certainly wasn’t good. With Yeye as the scapegoat, why would her own people take the fall?
"Sister Huahua, it’s clear what you’ve done, yet you still play smart and aren’t being honest. This is you bullying Yeye," Lian Manman said, "If Yeye gets angry, I won’t be able to calm her down."
Yeye indeed looked furiously at Lian Huahua.
Lian Huahua’s heart raced with panic; she had experienced Yeye’s stubbornness before. Yeye, not as cunning as Lian Manman, didn’t think things through and might really storm back into the house and blurt everything out in front of the guests, which would be terrible.
The only solution now was to bow to Yeye, endure until she rode in the sedan chair and entered the Song Family as the legitimate Young Lady of the Song Family. Then, no one would be able to do anything to her.
"Yeye, I did you wrong," Lian Huahua lifted her hand to wipe the corners of her eyes, softening her voice, "Fortunately, it’s no loss to you. I will make it up to you. Yeye, whatever you want, I’ll agree."
"I don’t want anything from you," Yeye said grimly, "You set me up, and you won’t let me speak out. I can choose not to speak out, but I demand to kick you out. Will you let me?"
Lian Huahua was taken aback; she had thought that promising Yeye some benefits, maybe some silver or fabrics, would be enough for Yeye, after seeing so little in her life, to let the matter go. But instead, Yeye didn’t want any gifts; she intended to hit her.
"Yeye, I’ll give you silver, I’ll make you new clothes," Lian Huahua hurriedly said.
"I don’t want your silver, or clothes," Yeye remained unmoved.
Lian Huahua turned to Lian Manman, hoping she would say something to persuade Yeye. But Manman seemed completely oblivious to their conversation, intently examining the growth of the cabbages.
"Yeye, hitting me won’t do you any good. I’ll give you..."
"Are you going to let me hit you or not? If not, I’ll go back to the house right now..." Yeye said, turning to walk away.
"Yeye, don’t go," Lian Huahua cried out in desperation, hurrying forward to grab Yeye.
The backyard was originally all vegetable beds, and though the vegetables had been harvested, the soil hadn’t been tended to and was uneven. In her panic, Lian Huahua’s small feet stepped into the vegetable bed. She became unsteady, grabbing the back of Yeye’s clothing, leaning forward, relying on Yeye to hold her up and keep from falling.
"Yeye..." Lian Huahua smiled, attempting to say some sweet words and placate Yeye.
Yeye turned around, raised her hand, and slapped Lian Huahua’s face.
"Ouch!" Caught off guard, Lian Huahua exclaimed in shock, disbelief on her face.
Yeye, after one slap, still felt unsatisfied. Raising both hands, she slapped Lian Huahua several times more, left and right. Lian Huahua, taller than Yeye and leaning forward, took the hits directly on her face. As she attempted to straighten up, wavering back and forth, unable to stand steadily, the last of Yeye’s slaps didn’t reach her face.
Nonetheless, it was enough punishment for Lian Huahua; Manman clearly saw red handprints forming on Huahua’s face.
After her initial shock, Lian Huahua became enraged and madly extended her fingers to scratch Yeye’s face.
"You, you wretched girl, you dare to hit me! I’ll tear your skin off..."
Seeing this, Manman quickly pulled Yeye away. Huahua was older and taller than both Manman and Yeye, but she was disadvantaged with bound feet and not accustomed to manual labor, unlike Manman and Yeye, who were both agile and strong. Huahua’s grab missed, and tripping over a clod, she tumbled into the vegetable bed.
"You, you’ve conspired against me..."
