Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack
Chapter 990 - 970: The Start of School
On September 1st, Qhianqhian and Tianyi stepped into the classroom of Grade 2, Class 7.
As soon as she entered, Qhianqhian’s mind was filled with a song: red, yellow, green, green... little carp blowing bubbles...
It really was a mix of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet colored hair. Their serious school uniform looked somewhat out of place?
"Quiet down." The old man at the podium tapped the blackboard, pointing at the two of them and said, "These are the new transfer students in our class this year. Introduce yourselves."
"Deng Yulu." Tang Tianyi said his name with great composure and then kept his aloof silence.
After all, those wolf-like eyes were too familiar. Can’t girls nowadays be a bit more reserved?
Qhianqhian walked to the blackboard, wrote down their names, and said loudly, "I am Deng Yuqi. I’m the planned and anticipated child of my parents. As for him, my brother, he’s an accident. Please take care of us in the future."
Tiantian smiled sweetly, making Qhianqhian shiver. She had practiced these six words nearly a thousand times yesterday, for fear of accidentally writing Luo Qianqian instead of her alias, which would have been awkward.
Continuous whistles echoed; Class 7 was the lowest-ranking science class.
And there were numerous students who had transferred from other schools after being expelled or something like that. Third Middle School had no concerns; they accepted them all and dumped them into Class 7.
This resulted in each grade’s Class 7 turning into a no man’s land.
The old man looked at the names on the blackboard and the two individuals, frowning slightly. How did kids like these end up at Third Middle School?
Looking at the group of unscrupulous students below, he pondered for a moment and asked, "Why did you transfer to Third Middle School?"
This was a question not only he wanted to know, but the whole class was curious about.
The vibe these two exuded was clearly out of sync with Third Middle School. Proper school uniforms? Beautiful handwriting? No way they were expelled from somewhere.
"Because..." Qhianqhian chuckled, "We live right next to the school. It’s closer to home that way, and learning is the same everywhere."
The old man looked at the two children with a hint of regret. Why on earth was it for such a reason?
He sighed, "You can take the seats at the back; there are still empty spots there."
Most of the seats in the classroom were fixed and couldn’t be easily rearranged because each group had their own cliques. Provoking these students could lead to unpredictable outcomes.
After all, this class had already gone through four homeroom teachers last semester...
"Thank you, teacher." Qhianqhian followed the aloof Deng Yulu and obediently walked to their seats, nodding and smiling to greet the surrounding classmates.
Seeing this smile, the people around seemed a bit uncomfortable.
They were used to roughhousing, so suddenly having a ’pure’ kid in the class felt a bit awkward. They forced smiles, twitching their cheeks at Qhianqhian.
Most of the time their expression was anger; smiling? How do you even do that?
People sitting elsewhere, seeing such terrifying smiles directed at the ’pure young girl’ Qhianqhian, felt a bit worried for her, yet she seemed unaffected, even sincerely asking, "Is your face uncomfortable? Did you sleep on it wrong?"
Instantly, the boy’s face turned red, awkwardly turning around. How was he supposed to respond?
Tang Tianyi silently lowered his head.
As expected, Qhianqhian was right; personas and all, they’re just acts.
Yesterday, when Deng Ming brought their profiles over, he didn’t forget to assign them personas, fearing they’d expose their true nature.
Deng Yulu? Cold, not inclined to interact with others, doesn’t like to talk, likes sleeping, playing basketball, and shields loved ones, doesn’t allow his sister to be bullied.
Deng Yuqi? In summary, just a simple Little White Flower.
Qhianqhian calmly played the part of this naive Little White Lotus, donned with a face of innocence.
Lost...
Tang Tianyi silently noted down to award Qhianqhian the Best Acting Award.
"Are you siblings?" A girl next to them tossed a lollipop onto Qhianqhian’s desk.
Qhianqhian smiled and nodded, "Thank you. We’re twins, fraternal twins."
"Twins and yet so different, how strange." The girl swept her brown wavy long hair, "I’m Lu Mei, and I’ll have your back from now on."
Why did she add the bit about being fraternal twins???
Feeling like her explanation had fallen on deaf ears, she momentarily zoned out.
"Have your back?"
"Uh, I mean I’ll protect you." Lu Mei, looking somewhat smug, said, "So no one will dare mess with you from now on."
"Wow, you’re amazing..." Qhianqhian immediately showed an admiring expression, looking at Lu Mei with anticipation.
"Not at all, hahaha..." The silly girl laughed, seemingly never having been praised like this before, and quickly pointed at Deng Yulu, who had already cleaned his desk and was maintaining his persona lying down, "Does your brother have a girlfriend?"
Qhianqhian was a bit stiff.
Tang Tianyi perked up his ears, waiting to hear how Qhianqhian would respond.
"He doesn’t have a girlfriend yet because he likes guys." Qhianqhian said mysteriously, leaning closer to Lu Mei across the aisle.
Tang Tianyi froze on his desk; he likes guys... likes guys... guys...
"Then does he have a boyfriend?" Lu Mei’s eyes lit up, quickly asking, full of interest.
Surprised by this reaction, Qhianqhian blinked, turned around, and nudged Tang Tianyi, "Brother, do you have a boyfriend?"
A face of pure innocence.
Tang Tianyi helplessly knocked on her head, "Don’t think about those things, or you’ll get a beating from Dad." Then he lay back down.
Qhianqhian pouted, "That’s why I’m the love child, and you’re an accident, an accident."
"What to do with an accident? A mere 998, and you’ll be home the same day." The girl in front of Lu Mei laughed, chiming in, turning to look at Qhianqhian, she raised an eyebrow, "Girl, this class isn’t easy to mix in. Having someone to back you up is a shortcut, but make sure it’s someone trustworthy, or you could end up getting beaten."
Qhianqhian looked at the girl in surprise, her face filled with nervousness and anxiety, seemingly genuine.
The girl smiled contentedly, "See that one? The one with red hair? That’s the Big Sister of the girls in the class." She introduced carefully.
However, Qhianqhian counted carefully, there were only seven girls including herself.
Such a Big Sister...
Nonetheless, she kept nodding occasionally, acting humble.
"Deng Yuqi, come solve this problem." The old man, seeing the only one who seemed capable of learning nearly being led astray, was instantly furious and called out directly.
He was the acting homeroom teacher of this class and also the math teacher.
Qhianqhian leisurely stepped forward, picked up the chalk, quickly finished writing, and smiled sweetly at the old man, "Teacher, this part was already taught in middle school."
The old man’s mouth twitched. Of course, he knew this part was taught, but in this class, there were hardly any who could solve it!
After some thought, his curiosity piqued about Qhianqhian’s prowess, and he wrote another problem, "Continue."
Qhianqhian continued to write it out.
Blinking, she casually wrote another problem, "Teacher, this is the problem I’m currently working on, please have a look."
After speaking, she leisurely returned to her seat.
Tang Tianyi glanced up once, amused, then lowered his head again.
The class fell silent at that moment; this new student seemed a bit impressive?
