Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack
Chapter 1469 - 1449: 3 Boys and 1 Girl – Children’s Group
"The Resurrection Pill acts as a death sentence for the living," Yan calmly stated to Luo Qianqian, "Its effect is on a deceased person; using their fresh blood and heart as a medium, it is administered to a living person, allowing them to gain the memory and legacy of the deceased. However, the living cannot survive for more than a year, and records indicate they may die within a month."
"This kind of thing doesn’t belong to the category of elixirs, it’s more like a poison, and it’s more suitable to look for me. But, I won’t take it." Mo also walked over, heard Yan’s words, and responded, "The Resurrection Pill is very sinister; although the ingredients are all ordinary Spiritual Herbs and Medicines, the combination and the special catalyst turn it into something very strange, comparable to the Puppet Pill."
Luo Qianqian shivered slightly and fell silent. Then, seeing the four people approaching, she curiously asked, "Have you found a suitable one?"
"Yes." Mo nodded, "We mainly seek experience, so choosing missions involving beasts is best. I saw two A-level ones with decent difficulty, which we should manage, and another involves a Spiritual Medicine guarded by a Spiritual Beast; we might as well accomplish it on the side."
Luo Qianqian nodded, and since they had already chosen, she stopped looking.
The only problem is that A-level missions and above can be accepted simultaneously, and whoever submits the task first completes it.
If tasks are submitted simultaneously, the task issuer selects whose submission to accept for the reward.
Another option is to sell the item to the Adventurers’ Guild for task points and rewards, or choose to keep the item and not receive points.
After waiting for a while, she looked at the brand-new Token with surprise, but obediently handed it to Yan.
Yan handed a paper with the task number to the counterpart, who looked at these tasks with slight surprise but quickly processed them. Unlike previous Low-Level Missions, High-Level tasks have a Jade Token containing all detailed information imprinted with spiritual power, and of course, acquiring this Jade Token costs money.
However, because this team is very remarkable, the fee was waived, a privilege even a small Adventurers’ Guild has.
"Let’s go." Yan calmly collected the items, without intending to distribute them among others, who also had no objections, and they all left.
After they exited, a group quickly followed them, some interested in Luo Qianqian’s bulging baggage, more were intrigued by the six individuals.
"I saw your task," Luo Qianqian excitedly said to Huangfu Yihui and Yann Yao, aware of those trailing but unconcerned due to the crowd, "It has to be alive, with a substantial reward."
Huangfu Yihui: "..."
Huangfu Yanyao: "..."
What could they say? Thankfully, they don’t appear often, so few know their appearance?
"I know you two are fiery, here, cool down." Luo Qianqian calmly reached into her bag, pulled out two cans of cooling tea, and handed them to the two, blinking, "It’s likely someone will soon come to snatch something from my bag."
Yet no one knew Mr. Black Cat was napping in the bag.
"Give me something to eat," Luo Shufan laughed, as just the idea of going back to deal with those miscellaneous construction and future development, and land planning issues had crossed his mind.
Luo Qianqian glanced at Luo Shufan and, sulking, silently took out a lollipop, an enormous one.
Available for purchase at the Forget Worries Tea House, though only five small palm-sized ones are available monthly.
Luo Qianqian pulled out a head-sized one; the largest was given to An Hao, who had auctioned it at the Forget Worries Tea House, proving the youngest brother more savvy at making money than all of them.
Luo Shufan’s mouth twitched, but he unwrapped it and handed the packaging to Luo Qianqian; they all knew such items shouldn’t be discarded carelessly.
Holding that candy caught everyone’s gaze on the street; even Luo Shufan felt slightly embarrassed despite his pride and bit off a piece in sheepishness, speechless at Luo Qianqian’s observing demeanor.
Luo Qianqian openly knocked off a piece from the candy, threw it in her mouth, and laughed, "This flavor isn’t as good as the smaller ones, after all."
In a light-hearted manner, everyone took turns striking off a piece, transforming the once round candy into a peculiarly shaped object...
"B-big brother, how much for a piece? Can I buy some?"
A sallow-looking little boy drooled, clenching a small silver ingot, longing for the candy in Luo Shufan’s hand.
Luo Shufan was dumbfounded at the prospect of anyone wanting to buy food he’d already eaten, even if they’d chipped it off...
"Do you want to eat it?" Luo Qianqian was defenseless against children, bending down to ask the little boy.
The boy nodded determinedly.
"I want a Baozi; buy me one, and I’ll give you a piece," Luo Qianqian smiled.
The boy sprinted off: "Wait here..."
After a while, a panting little boy returned, followed by three more kids, two boys and a girl, carrying baos; however, their attire was more ragged than the first boy’s.
The girl timidly eyed Luo Qianqian, wondering if her brother’s claim about the candy for bao trade was truthful.
Luo Qianqian knocked off a piece of candy, handed it to the little boy, and accepted the baos, smiling, "Do you think I can eat so many baos?"
"But... our money only buys baos." The little boy looked bewildered, momentarily dumbfounded.
"Alright: But four baos won’t suffice. Little sister, could you fetch me two more baos? I’ll give all this to you," Luo Qianqian, fondly eyeing the shy little girl who didn’t resort to begging, proposed. Such kids weren’t detestable.
The girl nodded earnestly and dashed off.
Their faces lit up as they bartered six baos for a monstrous lollipop, albeit with pieces chipped off...
"So sweet!" The little girl joyously exclaimed at Luo Qianqian, "Big sister, thank you."
"Eating too much sweet stuff means brushing your teeth to avoid cavities, though these are custom-ordered at Forget Worries Tea House. Alright, we’re off." Luo Qianqian clarified, sounding informative to the onlookers, then turned and walked off without attachment.
"Forget Worries Tea House... Brother, let’s visit Forget Worries Tea House, shall we?" The little girl, candy in hand and joy in her heart, remembered the kind older sister and the unforgettable tea house.
"Sure." The boy watched Luo Qianqian’s group depart and decisively nodded, "Ultimately, there’s no place for me at home, let’s go."
