Chapter 182: Demon Cultivator
Fengyu looked at the origin of the voice. Among these weapon refiners, would there be one so desperate to get this formation?
When he looked over, the other person did the same.
"450,000 spirit stones." Fengyu called out, a frown forming on his face.
This person... was not peaceful.
He didn’t know when it started, seemingly starting from when he got the Prophet of Peace inspiration... but he gradually had a feeling for peace.
While it wasn’t as accurate as Zimu’s or those of his believers, he could still roughly guess whether a person was more or less peaceful.
It was because of this that he had given a partial agreement to allow Liling’s friend Han’er to rent an acre.
When he entered, he had inspected the weapon refiners. Most of them had a slight aura of peace. After all, being weapon refiners, they remained cooped up in their refining stations most of the time. Only a few had a less peaceful aura, but after asking, he realised that those refiners crafted offensive weapons, which explained the difference.
But looking at this person... it might be because of his lack of experience, but this person was the first to give him an extreme sense of repulsion.
It was as if the person was inherently not peaceful, as if their whole being was exactly the opposite of his.
"470,000 spirit stones," the calm voice called out, a smile forming on his lips as he asked Fengyu, "Fellow daoist, why not give up this formation to me?"
"500,000 spirit stones." Fengyu turned away, ignoring this person.
The sense of repulsion made him even unwilling to remain in their presence.
In this state, his own aura unknowingly increased by several points - those around him felt a power subtly spreading from him, forming a shield against that person.
Liling and Han’er were confused but didn’t say much, as it wasn’t targeted at them.
Ming, on the other hand, became wary. He had talked with Silver Shadow a lot since he was always in the field. From him, he gained a general understanding of what was happening. Zimu gained a special ability and this ability was transferred to Fengyu too, and then to other ducks. Even Silver Shadow had gained a bit of it after discussing it with them.
Feeling this aura so suddenly here, he realised that it was an extremely dangerous one -
The other person, being ignored, was confused. In this private setting, who would make enemies so blatantly?
Others, seeing this situation, didn’t say anything. Both of these were newcomers, so you’d have to refer to the vouchers first.
Looking at the vouchers... the one on Fengyu’s side was Liling with a wide circle of friends, while the other person’s voucher... didn’t even sit with him.
Inexplicably, at this moment, in just a few glances, people had already taken sides.
Even the host didn’t say anything, only waiting to see what would happen.
"Fellow daoist, have I wronged you?" the person asked, a cold look emerging on his face. He had paid a lot to enter this gathering, and it was even just a temporary membership, not a full one! After this gathering, he’d have to discuss with the voucher about getting a real membership.
So this situation where people looked at him badly could negatively influence his membership!
How would he find such a wealthy private gathering again?
"You, a demon cultivator, appear among us Creation Masters. Do you think people don’t know?" Fengyu asked calmly, his eyes looking weirdly at him.
It might be that everyone was familiar, so they didn’t test each other. But when they heard this, they all took out various items or used techniques and spells -
Most people came up empty, but among them, those old members like the host and the extremely talented ones like Liling all got a weird look on their faces. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Everyone realised how wrong the situation was, their eyes fixated on the demon cultivator.
"I’m not-" he tried to deny, but no one listened.
After a moment’s thought, he used a different approach, "So what if I am a demon cultivator? The city is neutral, not demon nor righteous!"
"The city is neutral, but do we have to be? There are plenty of demon Creation Master gatherings, why not go there? All we produce and sell are normal items. Since you’re a demon cultivator, it really makes one question why you are here." Fengyu hit the nail on the head, his accusation garnering silent approval.
People took out their weapons and prepared their spells, clearly intending to fight.
Inner city? Heh, inner citizens might have a natural affection for each other, but this didn’t mean they’d accept a demon sneaking into their gatherings!
Just kill him and report to the city that he had evil intentions.
Any non-demon force is inherently closer to righteous, simply because the superficial behaviour of righteous people was non-action in public.
Everyone looked at each other and the demon cultivator felt the pressure growing increasingly.
He turned to the host and shouted an extremely high number, "600,000 spirit stones!"
But the host... only looked at him, not moving at all.
"Leave," the voucher suddenly stood up and pointed at him, his face angry, "I invited you temporarily for this gathering! Are you actually planning to rob us? Leave now, else I’ll be the first to attack you!" the man threatened.
If something happened, then he would have to pay compensation! Just thinking of this, he was extremely angry, a hammer appearing in his hand.
"I’m leaving!" the demon cultivator hurriedly said. He knew that once he was attacked, he would never be able to leave!
Scared, he could only rush out - but as he did so, he couldn’t help but glance at Fengyu for a moment.
A moment of silence was followed by breaths of relief. Even if they’re wealthy and powerful, in the end, Creation Masters aren’t Battle Masters - so their power will inherently be lower than cultivators of the same level, especially against demon cultivators!
"Fellow daoist, I apologise for this incident!" the voucher cupped his hands to Fengyu in apology.
"Demons are best at concealment, you should just be more careful when inviting people, even if it’s temporary..." Fengyu remarked, not adding more, as he himself was a new member and it was inappropriate to comment further.
