Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards
Chapter 165 - Inspiration!
After some consideration, Fengyu bought the robe. He also asked her whether she was selling any second stage items.
Seeing him so generous and knowing he was a doctor with deep pockets, she told him that she was indeed planning to sell a second stage item in a bit over a year’s time, and that he should save at least half a million of spirit stones and possibly some special items or think of other things he could trade, since she would be selling this item at the next internal gathering of inner citizens.
Fengyu was naturally elated to hear this, especially since the internal gathering was likely something only a few people had access to, or maybe these were gatherings held privately and only a few people participated.
Shanqing never told him about it, meaning he either wasn’t part of a gathering or he didn’t have the right to invite others. Regardless, now that he had a way to enter one, he would definitely prepare more than just this!
After leaving the courtyard, he didn’t visit any other place but returned to his own field.
His most important matters were completed, he had a daily job, earned many spirit stones and contribution points, cultivated rather quickly and would accumulate a lot of wealth for the internal gathering to come.
Based on the fact that the gathering of beasts started somewhat early, Fengyu knew that the Beast Tide would never start later but only earlier than the usual time, so he no longer added other things to his work and instead focused on his own things.
...
In a blur, a year passed by. Fengyu’s cultivation... had finally reached the breaking point!
He looked at the Qi Bowls in his dantian, different patterns now formed at their bottom. Waterfowl and ducks, these were his main focus. So the pattern, looking close to a duck yet not fully, was the symbol of his path.
Spiritual light shone in his dantian, at the edge various wisps of cultivation showing signs of converging to his third and largest bowl, but he was focused on the transformation, suppressing them.
Right then!
The symbol of ducks and waterfowl rose into the sky of his dantian, shining a supremely bright light down on everything!
Instantly, various information appeared in Fengyu’s mind, information detailing his cultivation, and also giving him the option to contract beasts!
Herd Leader, Herd Elder and Herd Member!
It was clearly separated, the benefits as clear as before, but at this moment... he suddenly saw something else appear besides these!
They visually appeared below the leader but above the elder, and they were called the ’Grand Elders’, their specific title not shown, yet Fengyu could see that each of these positions held a much higher meaning than previously...
What did they mean? What was their use? What benefit could he get? Countless thoughts appeared in his mind, yet he had no answer to any of them. In this situation, he could only try... but he would try it after he contracted the first and foremost leader!
"Zimu," Fengyu called out to Zimu who sat in front of him, observing his cultivation.
"Quack?"
"It’s time." Fengyu only said these two words, and said nothing else. In that moment of silence, he already willed his cultivation art -
Something unexpected happened, something he had never thought would be possible -
An illusory bowl, extremely small, manifested right in front of Fengyu!
It was extremely small, smaller still than his own smallest early-stage Qi Bowl, yet it carried an air of extreme importance. Fengyu instantly guessed it, but he didn’t know exactly what it meant.
A moment’s hesitation could lead to various bad endings, so he didn’t hesitate any longer and willed it to continue.
The bowl slowly fell and landed in front of Zimu.
Information appeared in Fengyu’s mind, directing him on what to do.
Fengyu looked at Zimu and asked, "Are you willing to become the leader of my herd, the highest and most important, yet also carrier of responsibility, the Herd Leader and my closest companion?"
"Quack, I’m willing!" Zimu agreed right away, no hesitation, no delay, only immense trust in his eyes.
His words instantly caused the bowl to tremble and fell on Zimu’s head!
Right then, it transformed from a bowl to a crown, to a small diadem and finally to a headpiece with a diamond in its centre, a waterfowl symbol hidden inside. Attached to Zimu’s head, it transformed his usually cute appearance to that of a young prince, the prince of waterfowl!
In that instant, a light shot out of the diamond and entered Fengyu’s mind -
It travelled all the way to a place he couldn’t see, before it stopped there. An invisible connection formed between them.
Just as Fengyu thought it was over, he felt his own two inspirations tremble, as if in joy, as if they finally got their lost brother -
The mysterious light contracted and expanded, forming the subtle form of Zimu, then taking another form... finally, it only became a diamond, a giant diamond, pure and beautiful, its light travelling all over Fengyu’s mind as some knowledge befell him -
"True Spiritual Inspiration!" he exclaimed, shock evident in his voice.
It was abrupt, happening in an instant, with no chance for him to react when it was already over and he gained the third inspiration he had worked for.
And with the inspiration, an accompanying piece of information washed over him -
[Prophet of Peace]
This was the name of his inspiration, a name he couldn’t even give but something that had a direct name. And more than just this, there was even a small story connected to this name -
[Being the closest to the Deity of Peace, raising him and caring for him, you have become the Prophet of Peace that shall assist the Deity in awakening the Innate Peace in all beings!]
Fengyu looked at this story, sceptical... what was this? Did he reincarnate again? Who was the so-called Deity of Peace?
He looked at Zimu and asked, "Are you the Deity of Peace?"
"Yes!" Zimu proclaimed directly, "In these past few days, I have learned from the scriptures you gave me and I understood their path. Hidden in the scriptures is the Path of Divine! This path is to spread a certain truth to all people and improve their life.
Although I was only able to glean a rough idea, I finally understood why the Buddhists care so deeply about karma and why the Taoists revere nature so much.
The founders of these two and their leaders are those that follow the path of divine, and doing both, caring for karma or following nature, improves the lives of people!
After much thought, I realised that this path is very suitable for me.
Rather than fleeing from chaotic places and being scared when meeting unpeaceful people, I realised that the best way is to awaken the peace in all people, make them see and spread peace, making the whole world comfortable for me!"
"You..." Fengyu looked at Zimu in shock! Wasn’t this a bit of an egoistical dream? So you’re willy-nilly creating a cult just so you feel a bit better in the world?
Ignoring the latter, what Zimu said about this so-called Path of Divine should be real. Essentially, it was to become the deity and benefit from the worship of believers, right? And the core was improving the people’s lives, which was also beneficial. In the end... isn’t this basically becoming a sect leader?
He wasn’t a demonic cultivator, so he really couldn’t call it a cult. Not only would it directly make people wary, it would also attract the ire of those righteous religions. The most he could do was establish a sect under the name of peace, recruit disciples to follow this path, and so on...
Dispelling these thoughts, he focused more on the ability of this -
A Domain-Type Spiritual Inspiration!
That’s right, domain!
An aura of peace would be left where he was.
Fengyu looked at this information for a long time... first of all, he didn’t even really understand what this aura of peace was, secondly, he felt that this inspiration contained a lot more than just this aura, since the name sounded so great.
Only after checking the information deeply did he understand it.
Essentially, wherever he remained for a long time, an aura of peace would gradually be created there. This aura is like the aura that Zimu detects.
How this aura would make the place peaceful was beyond his knowledge, but Fengyu generally understood its use and connection with the inspiration’s name...
Wherever a prophet stood for a long time... wasn’t this essentially asking him to preach about Zimu’s cult?
And after preaching, that place would be left with his aura. If it had any use, then it would indeed be the best inspiration used for converting people!
Fengyu was confused about all of this... what was his own benefit from this?
