Chapter 31: Palatable Offer

The first thing she hurried to check was the broken wall of her room, sharp edges of wood stuck out from the sides of the hole. She would have commended the force that the liquid had slammed against the wall with if she wasn’t devastated by this damage.

Slowly she turned her head through the hole and saw a woman with her legs wide apart. And from the center point of her legs, where a narrow slit was situated, elongated a trail of wetness, her bed was soaked, there were little streams of whitish water sinking between the planks of her floor and even in the sitting room here, the ground was wet.

Her face was carved with utter disbelief.

’How could this be?’ Chang’e thought to herself.

Even though she knew that Shi Lan was a different man, this... this made no sense to her. How could he make a woman spill so much of her essence?

From there, her mind wondered what exactly the lady on the bed would have experienced, what kind of paradise, or hell, she would have gone through in the few hours that she had been here with Shi Lan.

She remained where she was, startled but frozen.

Even Wei Shi Lan spoke...

"Ahem..." He cleared his throat. "It seems we will need a renovation, don’t worry, we have enough money... or do you prefer a new house?"

He asked her, waiting for her response.

But Chang’e was long gone, her lustful mind, having wandered to obvious places.

He glanced back at Qing Rou who had passed out and was now in a very deep sleep. Then he turned to her, and then waved his hand in front of her eyes.

Then she flinched and staggered back.

"Brother Lan, when—"

"I think it’s convenient for me if you call me Shi Lan."

Chang’e hesitated, looking slightly concerned. Then she accepted with a soft nod, after which she turned to look at the lady on her bed with that concern growing on her face.

"Shi Lan, what did you do?"

Wei Shi Lan glanced back and sighed. He placed his hands behind his back and walked forward.

"You see, I discovered that this young lady has a very unique body constitution... so I helped her become twenty years old again even though she was almost sixty already."

Chang’e’s eyes widened.

"Really?"

Wei Shi Lan nodded with a smug grin.

"Of course, who do you think I am. My reputation as the Benevolent Leader is not an empty shell, you know, and no mortal is truly yet to comprehend the vastitude of my technique."

Chang’e’s gaze radiated something akin to worship.

"Shi Lan, you’re amazing."

Then she glanced at the lady and Shi Lan caught the ghost of another kind of emotion, something that he believed to be envy?

He knew this situation, all too well, in fact, this was the reason why he had said what he said earlier, in order to get this kind of response from Chang’e.

"You know... you also have a unique body constitution."

Chang’e heard and flinched, immediately shaking her head.

"Oh no, no, no, I certainly do not. I am just a mere nobody, please don’t award me with such grace."

Shi Lan paused, only studying Chang’e in silence and saying nothing after she vehemently rejected his statement about her unique body constitution.

He folded his hands, his gaze still glued to her. Then he asked.

"So you knew?"

Chang’e flinched as if she was caught stealing. She tried to avoid Shi Lan’s gaze, but his head followed her, his gaze piercing into her face.

"You knew about it, didn’t you? I see you knew."

He straightened.

"Well this will make things easier. I can also make you look twenty years younger."

He spoke with a plain tone, nothing evident in the way each word rolled out of his mouth.

"But yours will require a more delicate and intimate method."

He stared at her, intentionally looking at her voluptuous chests.

"And I understand that you’re a married woman, but if you come to me, I will not turn you down. Think about it, it will be the best day of your life. The day you dare to grab the tails of the heavens."

He scoffed and walked away but paused for a moment.

"When she wakes up, collect three gold coins from her and send her away. Make sure she doesn’t stay one second longer."

Shi Lan continued walking, as he stepped onto the edge of their home, Chang’e’s voice called out to him.

"Shi Lan."

He paused and turned back. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Do you want to be somewhere right now?"

"Yes."

She hesitated, looking down.

"Can I ask where?"

Shi Lan responded with a nonchalant tone.

"The Medicine Hall."

Hearing the response, Chang’e’s eyes widened and hints of displeasure appeared on her face.

"D-D-Do you have to go?" Her tone fell slightly lower.

"Yes. I’ll be back soon."

Shi Lan said and walked out of the house.

He greeted Xia Xia outside and gave her ten copper coins for her work for the day. Everyone in the house earned everyday based on how the business that day was. Today, business was good, on other days, Wei Shi Lan gave them, three, four at most five copper coins, for each person. Of course, this was aside from paying ten copper coins every day for the use of their homestead.

Chang’e stared at him with a strange dissatisfaction in her heart. She bit her lower lip as she watched him walk out of the gate and eventually left her view.

Wei Shi Lan made his way to the Medicine Hall, where Sui Rong’s manor was located.
