Primordial Law Codex: I can manipulate heavenly laws
Chapter 25: The iron horned bull king!
Deep in the south east parts of the Asura Forest, Leon sat on top of a large tree as he observed the pack of wolves feasting on the remains of the iron horned cows he had hunted.
Most of these wolves were at the first heaven of the iron realm while their leader was at the third heaven of the iron realm. Leon had intentionally left the carcasses of the iron horned cows on the ground to lure some scavengers out, but he had not expected to encounter such a large pack of wolves.
After observing for a while and making sure the pack only had one beast at the third heaven of iron realm, Leon summoned his gatling gun and directly jumped down from the tree, landing in front of the wolf king who was dozing off under the tree.
When the beast opened its eyes from the sudden movement, it only saw the rotating barrel of the gatling gun right in front of its face and before it could even react—
Bang. Bang. Bang.
A barrage of bullets pierced its head, blasting it into smithereens.
"Awwooo... grrr..."
Seeing their king being attacked, the more than one hundred wolves at the iron realm let out howls of anger and charged towards Leon like mad bulls.
As they moved, the wind around them covered their body to the point that their figures turned blurry. Some of them even opened their mouths and spat out wind blades that whooshed towards Leon at incredible speed.
Seeing the rain of wind blades and the blurry silhouettes moving towards him, Leon did not panic. He turned the gatling gun toward the incoming wolves and continued firing, killing thirty more before the bullets ran out.
At the same time, the wolves reached Leon and raised their claws to tear this tiny human down to shreds. But at that moment, a dark silver serpent vine covered in crimson hue shot out from his back, latched onto a nearby tree branch, and yanked him upward in one fluid motion.
The wolves’ claws snapped shut on empty air as Leon was pulled to the tree top like a spring. He calmly landed on the branch, took out his two iron grade swords from his storage ring, and immediately jumped back down towards the group of wolves.
Enraged, the wolves spat out even more wind blades towards Leon. But this time, a fortress like rhino appeared in front of him and blocked all the wind blades, while a large eagle made of sword qi flew from behind the rhino and dissected the wolves into pieces wherever it went.
Leon also turned into a blur as he weaved through the wind blades and the sharp claws of the wolves. Meanwhile, the two blades in his hand turned into silver butterflies cutting down anything that came in their way.
Even when the wolves tried to gang up on him, the serpent vine would shoot out, latch onto a distant branch, and yank him out of the encirclement just as their claws closed in. If not for the vine constantly pulling him from tree to tree, changing his position mid air like a pendulum, he would have already been hit by a dozen wind blades.
Despite having an excellent bloodline skill like the wind blade and remaining well organized even after their king’s death, the wolves failed to pose any real threat to Leon.
In less than an hour, more than one hundred wolves were killed while the rest ran away seeing the slaughter of their group with no way of a comeback.
Leon also did not pursue the group, as it was too difficult to catch up to these creatures who had wind based elemental bloodline skills. If he were to run after them, he would only be able to catch one or two since they fled in different directions.
He let out a breath and relaxed his guard.
But suddenly, an overwhelming force hit him from the back.
From the impact of the blow, his body arched backward like a bow before he was sent flying into the distance. The force was so mighty that he rolled over a few times before smashing into an ancient tree.
Leon vomited a mouthful of blood and looked at the place where he had previously stood. There he saw a 2.5 meter tall giant iron horned bull glaring at him with hatred.
Leon swallowed hard. This big guy seemed to be the king of the iron horned cows he had killed earlier, and judging from the murderous look in its eyes, it had already concluded that the person responsible for the death of its kin was him.
From the qi fluctuations around its body, it was at least at the fourth heaven of mortal realm. If it was someone like that wolf king from before, Leon would have still dared to fight back. But these iron horned cows are known for their physical strength. Even if it was at the first heaven of the iron realm, Leon was no match for it, much less one that was at the fourth heaven.
"Mooooo!" The iron horned bull let out a loud bellow and once again charged towards Leon. Even without the enhancement from the wind element, its raw speed was much faster than the wolf king from before.
Leon only felt as though he was facing a speeding sports car at close range. His body did not even seem to react to the insane speed of the bull king.
Fortunately, at that time the spear qi in his meridians reacted automatically. The piercing nature of his spear qi sharpened his thoughts to an insane degree, and everything around him slowed down.
The leaves falling from the tree, the movement of the bull king, how every muscle in its body shook as it ran... everything seemed to be playing in slow motion in front of his eyes.
Leon didn’t dare hesitate and hurriedly summoned his whip spirit. The next second, a serpent vine shot from his palm and coiled around the branch of the tree above.
Before the bull king crashed into the ancient tree, the serpent vine pulled Leon upwards, narrowly saving him from being turned into meat paste.
But the bull king did not give Leon time to catch his breath. It bellowed furiously one more time and a massive ball of thunder formed above its head which shot towards Leon at an insane speed.
Even with his reaction speed enhanced by the spear qi, Leon was helpless against this ball of thunder as it had already turned into a huge net of thunder which did not leave any room to dodge.
Gritting his teeth, he activated his bloodline skill and a necklace with a golden ornate cross manifested on his neck before his entire body was covered in pitch black flames.
He also constantly used the serpent vine like a grappling hook to swing from tree to tree, desperately trying to shake away the damn bull king who was sprinting after him while constantly shooting thunder balls.
His body was already assaulted by the thunder more than a dozen times, but the Obsidian Crown Flame devoured the thunder qi from the attacks, leaving only the brute force of the blows to land on his body.
What was even more infuriating was that, despite its size, this ox king was even more agile than an iron realm cheetah and showed no sign of fatigue even after running for a while.
"Damn it, does this king have an ocean of elemental qi in its body? Why the hell is it not running out of thunder qi even after spitting this much out?" Leon cursed the bull king in his mind as he changed his direction towards the territory of the iron realm lizard demons he had scouted a few days earlier.
If his estimation was correct, in their group there were at least two lizards which were above the fifth heaven of the iron realm. Leon was sure that they would be able to at least stop this mad beast.
Just as he calculated, when the man sized lizards spotted the bull king rushing towards them, they bared their fangs and spat out poisonous saliva towards the bull demon.
Leon was also not spared, but the saliva that landed on his body was mostly from the lizards at the first heaven. So before it could even affect him, the Obsidian Crown Flame devoured the poisonous qi inside, turning it into normal saliva.
But the bull king was not so fortunate. Even with its invincible physique, it was deeply poisoned from the venomous saliva of the lizard demons.
"Mooooo!"
It bellowed furiously and threw out a few thunder balls towards the group of lizards before running away the way it came.
The lizards made hissing sounds in warning but did not pursue the bull demon. Leon also did not dare stay in that area, as he was still within the lizards’ territory.
After putting some distance between himself and the lizard demons, he noticed that the life force of the bull king was depleting at an alarming rate, so he decided to follow the beast from a safe distance.
