"Life essence jumped from 823 to 1323 and the completeness of the Four Spirit Weapon Forging Art increased to 50%. The only problem is that my body’s potential seems to have been increased to somewhat of a ridiculous level," Leon sighed as he looked at the 50000 life essence points he needed to collect in order to advance to the second heaven of the mortal realm.

One had to know that when he first completed the first heaven of the mortal realm, he only needed to collect 100 life essence, and this amount increased by 100 more life essence points for each minor realm. By the time he reached the 8th heaven, he only needed 800 life essence points to complete that minor realm.

But still, even with the help of the Primordial Law Codex, Leon grinded for 7 years just to reach the 8th heaven. If not for the boost he got every time he mastered a cultivation technique to perfection, Leon was not even sure whether he would have even reached this far.

Now the glaring problem was that even with his boosted cultivation speed, he felt his speed of cultivation was like that of a turtle, considering the fact that he needed 50000 just to break through to one minor realm.

But this also had its own advantage. Even though Leon was in the 1st heaven of the mortal realm, he could feel that his strength was even more than a cultivator at the 10th heaven of the mortal realm. It could be simply imagined how strong his physical body would be once he completed the first heaven of the mortal realm.

Another fact was that with each increase in realm, cultivation becomes more difficult and slow compared to the previous realm. By this logic, if Leon did not find an alternative way to speed up his cultivation, he might be stuck at the mortal realm for a long time.

But Leon did not have that much time in his hands, considering the fact that a squad leader who was on the 10th heaven of the iron realm was now eyeing his little sister. If he did not improve faster, he might be forced to helplessly watch his sister dragged away while he was powerless to help her.

"Let’s record one more technique. Probably it will increase the speed of my cultivation a bit more," Leon said with a sigh as he took out the manual for Serpent Vine Art and started flipping through it page by page.

"Push the Serpent Vine Art directly to perfection," Leon commanded once the technique was completely recorded.

The next second, Leon’s mind was occupied with various insights and memories related to the Serpent Vine Art. It seemed as though he had observed a rare type of plant called the serpent vine for years to comprehend this technique.

Serpent vine is a rather special type of plant. It has extremely flexible and elastic tendrils which are like a rubbery serpent. Once the vines coiled around a prey, its fate was already sealed, since it was hard to break free from the bind.

At the same time, the tendrils could also attack like a whip. Leon seemed to have integrated all these traits of the serpent vine into the Serpent Vine Art through numerous trials and errors before he finally created this whip art.

When Leon fully absorbed all the memories, he was astonished to see that he only spent around 250 life essence points to push this technique to perfection, unlike the other techniques which at the very least needed over 1000 life essence points.

"Is this because I have already comprehended the whip intent from the Ultimate Body Forging Art?" Leon rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

It seemed that if he had already mastered a technique to perfection, he needed fewer life essence points to push similar types of techniques to perfection.

"Whatever, either way it is beneficial to me," Leon mumbled to himself before he gave the command to merge the Serpent Vine Art into the Four Spirit Weapon Forging Art.

Once again, the familiar sensation came and a new set of qi circulation pathways appeared inside his body. The whip intent he had comprehended started flowing through the new pathways.

At the same time, a large amount of qi from the surroundings entered his body. But instead of strengthening his body like last time, it made his body much more flexible and elastic like a whip.

This elasticity was not limited to his skin and muscles alone. Even his bones seemed to become flexible, and he could feel that his body could now even more efficiently handle and redirect impact from blows. At the same time, it could focus his energy at a single point even more efficiently than when he mastered the whip intent with the Ultimate Body Forging Art and the Berserk Monkey Palm.

"Now, it’s time to give shape to my whip spirit," Leon extended his finger forward and the whip intent inside his body spread out from his fingers, taking the shape of a long and thick serpent vine tendril.

The tendril was dark silver in colour with comparatively small blood red leaves on its surface here and there. A crimson aura spread around it like a poisonous mist, making it feel dangerous and suffocating.

Leon held one end of the tendril and gave it a light flick. The next second, like a dragon’s tail strike, the tendril struck the air creating a loud sonic boom from the focused power at the tip of the tendril.

Leon swallowed hard as he felt the immense power unleashed by the tendril in his hand. If he was hit by this tendril at full force, he was sure that even with the protection of his hammer spirit, a layer of his skin would be peeled off effortlessly.

"The life essence I need for the first heaven yet again increased to 75000 along with the increase in completeness of the Four Spirit Weapon Forging Art to 75%. At the same time, my strength seems to have doubled compared to previously," Leon said as he felt the power and quality of the vital qi running inside his body.

"Brother, what’s that sound?" Just then, little Amy’s voice came from outside the door.

Leon immediately waved his hand and the whip spirit vanished. "Nothing, I just knocked over the water bottle."

"Oh, Uncle John is here to visit you," Amy’s voice once again came from outside.

Leon smelled himself and felt the stench coming from his body. After he came back, apart from removing the coat made from bear pelt, he had not taken a bath and immediately sat back to cultivate.

Now all the sweat from yesterday to now, combined with the healing ointment he applied to treat the swelling from the bee sting, created a strange odor which was not so pleasing to the nose.

After thinking for a moment, Leon decided to take a bath first. "Ask big brother to wait. I will come back in a bit after a bath."

"Okay," little Amy’s voice came from outside and Leon stood up and entered the inner bathroom of his room.

The wooden bathtub inside was already filled with water. Leon took out some powder made from aromatic herbs and sprinkled it into the bathtub.

Immediately, the water started to give off a pleasing smell. He started pouring water from the tub using a small bucket onto himself after he was stripped naked.

...

Half an hour later, Leon changed into a new set of clothes and walked out of the room. Due to his sudden increase in height and body size, this previously loose set of long sleeve t-shirt and pants seemed somewhat tight now.

"Huh? Did you suddenly grow taller?" John asked in confusion when he saw Leon walking out of his room.

Little Amy and Sister Coco also ran over and sized up Leon curiously.

Leon scratched his head sheepishly and said, "It’s the effect of one of the techniques that old man gave me."

"Seriously?" John asked doubtfully.

Leon sighed. "Stop pondering meaningless things. Come inside and select the technique you want."

He opened the door to his room and called John inside, where on the bed all the cultivation techniques were laid out one by one.

"On the first page of every manual, there is an introduction about the technique, its advantages and disadvantages. You can go through them all before selecting the one you want," Leon said as he walked out with little Amy and Coco.

It would probably take John some time to find the technique which suited him the best. After all, he did not have a cheat like Leon to point out what was the best technique for him.

"Brother, can I also cultivate? I also want to be as strong as you," Amelia said with starry eyes as she followed Leon to the hall.

Leon sat down on the dining table and Grandma Mercy served him food.

"Brother, are you listening to me?" Amelia asked with a pout when she saw Leon ignoring her.

Leon thought for a moment and shook his head. "Unlike me, you are a genius when it comes to cultivation talent. I have talked with your homeroom teacher and he told me that he had already contacted the higher ups of the Phoenix Academy regarding your talent."

"In at most a year’s time, one of their representatives will come to the 36th stronghold to assess your talent. Until then, you are not allowed to cultivate any cultivation technique. If you accidentally screw up and damage your body, it won’t be worth it."
