Chapter 70: Elven King

Seraveth’s eyes became so wide that one could definitely fit an egg in those sockets. Although it was only for a moment. She definitely saw it; that glimpse was more than enough to know who he was.

"F-Father!"

"Yes, I saw it."

The Dragon Emperor spoke in a calm tone, though his face was a bit strange.

"How the hell did that brat end up in Niravana’s hands?"

Looking ahead, his eyes hardened. "I’ll deal with this later; the summit is important."

Seraveth, though unconvinced, dared not disobey her father. Looking in his direction one more time, she followed her father.

...

In one of the buildings, Emperal and Soleine landed on the ground. Looking around, he observed that he could clearly see everyone from the other buildings, and it was probably the same for them as well.

But amongst all the beings, the one who demanded his attention was the...Elven King. His eyes were grey, as if there was no emotion in them.

"Soleine, that’s the Elven King?"

He asked, without pointing or turning in his direction. Soleine stared at him for a second before nodding.

"Yes, he is one of the strongest and oldest beings to live on Verandis. His power is...boundless."

For the first time, Emperal saw a different expression on her face, rather than the usual confident one. It was a...serious expression.

"Why that face, Soleine? Is he that powerful?"

He couldn’t help but be puzzled; his confusion stemmed from the situation of the humans.

"Zerathiel Mythravel Zephrus. Yes, he is powerful. And let me tell you, that man’s powers are...otherworldly. Better be careful."

Emperal, of course, nodded; he obviously wouldn’t go and pick a fight with the man. But suddenly his body twitched. Shifting his eyes, he saw the person whom he loathed the most.

"That...bitch is also here, huh?"

Emperal spoke, barely squeezing the words out of his throat. His hands were trembling, barely holding back the urge to cuss at the harlot.

"Emperal..."

Soleine sighed when she saw this; she could feel the boundless anger and frustration behind those eyes, along with a profound sense of...helplessness. Seeing that his mind was headed on the path that would definitely lead him to trouble at the summit, he forced himself to calm down and sighed.

"I am alright, Soleine, it’s just my emotion—"

Emperal paused, he couldn’t help but rethink what he was going to complete.

"These days...aren’t my emotions way out of control?"

Emperal’s expression slowly changed as he glanced at his hands. "No, it’s not these days. It was from the time when I had absorbed that multicoloured blood and inherited the Infernal Dragon’s powers!"

He realized it in an instant, because even when he was humiliated publicly, there was a certain calculation going on in the back of his mind. It was a kind of consciousness that refused to let him sink into despair or entertain any negative thoughts.

"Sigh, you really are a genius, Emperal. You even figured this out, and yes. After inheriting my legacy and powers, my arrogance, my nature, my characteristics, my traits...everything will integrate inside you soon."

When he heard those words, his expression changed drastically.

"The fuck! You are telling me that...now?"

"...I forgot."

Emperal snorted when he heard that, but this wasn’t the time for that. Looking at Seraveth one more time, he shifted his eyes to the...Humans.

But he, of course, didn’t recognize them, turning his gaze. He saw Soleine sitting comfortably on the sofa and having some drinks.

He walked forward and stood behind her, "So? Mind telling me about them?"

He spoke, gesturing to the Human Emperor seated in one of the buildings. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Oh, you mean Aldric? Yes, he is honestly an extremely competent and clever king. The only thing he hadn’t inherited from his grandfather is...that monster’s overwhelming strength."

Emperal raised his brows when he heard that, even with the severe lack of his general knowledge. He, of course, knew who Kaelen Verdant Valdenmere was.

"I...see."

Emperal nodded and just stood back, since he already knew about the Titans. He didn’t pester Soleine about them.

"The pure-blooded Titans are really different from the mixed ones present on the borders of Draventhar."

He noticed, looking down. He saw that every major building had finally been occupied. Aside from the five major powers in Verandis, there were also other ones, such as the Head of the Alchemy Guild.

"The...Aureliam Pact, huh? I thought they were just called the Alchemy Guild." Emperal looked at the names on their robes and instantly recognized what was written there.

"Yes, they are the ones who manage all the pills, cultivation materials, and the medical/pharma works. They are quite important people, so nobody messes with them."

Emperal nodded, his mind couldn’t help but drift towards the Alchemist he had killed in Greenvale. Thinking about that, he couldn’t help but smirk.

Step Step Step

On the grand stage below, a pair of footsteps echoed. Instantly grabbing everyone’s attention. It was an Elven woman, a...really well-endowed one at that.

Every eye was on the woman walking towards the middle of the stage, and the Elven scanty clothes didn’t help either.

Just as Emperal was about to see that woman, he felt a chill down his spine. Looking down robotically, he saw Soleine’s eyes had darkened. They were...swirling.

His eyes twitched when he saw this, "You would have been questioning my manhood if I didn’t see that chi—woman down there."

He spoke, but his words obviously had no effect on the woman. Looking down, dark thoughts began brewing in that pretty head of hers.

"Should I kill her now...or after the summit?"

Emperal, of course, conveniently ignored her rantings and muttering. Looking down, his eyes turned serious.

The Elven woman with deep platinum hair smiled, "Emperors and Empresses, you have my deepest gratitude for gracing us with your collective presence. I am Wusha, and I am honored to be the host of this summit."

Wusha spoke and bowed her head...towards the Elven King. Who merely nodded his head, taking that as a clue, Wusha stepped forward and waved her hand.
