Primal Dragon: The Dragon and Phoenix Empresses are Obsessed with Me!
Chapter 55: Phase two beast blood
"Oh? Mind telling me what that is?"
Emperal asked curiously, to which the Infernal Dragon just chuckled.
"I’m sure you’ll know soon enough."
Emperal’s lips twitched, but he controlled himself. Looking ahead, he saw that Calder was sleeping with his legs in the air.
Seeing this, Emperal smirked. Taking the Stormvein Sword out, he slashed the blunt end at the nearby wave. Making it...splatter.
Whoooshhh!!
A big chunk of water hit the peacefully sleeping Calder like a freight train.
"HAaahhh!!!"
Calder jolted upwards, his eyes were so wide that a small fish got stuck in those sockets.
"W-WHO DARES!!?"
Emperal chuckled, hearing this, Calder snapped his head at him. A vein popped on his forehead when he saw this.
"You bastard! Today it is either you or me!!"
Saying that, he jumped, intending to land on Emperal. But the latter just side-stepped.
Emperal looked at him amusingly, "What is this new move?"
"It’s to crush you to death, bastard!"
Standing up, he swung his fist at Emperal, who easily dodged it. This continued for a few more seconds until Calder finally gave up.
"Alright, let’s go now."
Emperal patted his back with a smirk and got on the ship.
"So where is Vara?"
"She has already gone ahead, now come up."
After a few seconds, Calder and Emperal left for the Ashenfields Islands and went straight to the Tidewatch Port.
"So?"
"Hmm?"
"What’s with that silly smile on your face?"
"What do you mean?"
"Who are you kidding? Something must have happened in there to make you so happy."
Calder said, his eyes narrowed suspiciously. And Vara’s absence didn’t help either.
"Heh, it’s nothing. We just kissed."
"Ah, no wonder."
Calder nodded repeatedly, and he no longer paid any attention to Emperal.
"Calder," Emperal called him out.
"What?"
"Here"
Emperal threw five bottles at Calder, three of them were freezing cold, and the two...boiling hot.
Calder’s eyes widened the moment he saw what it was. "N-No way. This..."
He tilted his head and took a deep breath.
"Emperal you are my close friend, and probably the best one at that. But...these, I can’t accept."
He spoke, in those bottles were the pure Verth turned into liquid. A heavenly treasure. But the real treasure was the...blood.
It was the Blood of a Phase Two beast... Phase Two beasts and so on do not contain the Diluted or Common bloodline.
Every beast in Phase Two of cultivation has a Noble bloodline or above, and there was one iron rule in the bloodline system: if a lower bloodline beast could consume a higher or purer bloodline than them. Then they could, depending on their aptitude, evolve into a superior bloodline.
Just because of this one rule, the bloodline system of today is still running. And...existing.
Calder’s heart thumped when he felt the aura of the Noble bloodline in the bottle. It wasn’t a drop or two. It was two bottles straight.
Hearing his words, Emperal frowned. "You call me your friend, and in the same sentence, you say you can’t accept it? Stop whining and have those, these types of opportunities come only once or twice in your lifetime."
Hearing Emperal’s harsh words, Calder smiled in relief. If the bastard had spoken something touching or friendly, he would’ve definitely hesitated there.
"Since that is the case, I will graciously accept these gifts hehe~."
Calder spoke and carefully stored those bottles away in his storage ring. It was given to him by Vara.
Seeing that Emperal was still standing there looking at him, Calder sighed.
"Alright, since it has come to this. Let me tell you my secret, too."
Emperal raised his brows when he heard that, "Continue."
"I...wasn’t originally an Information Broker. I am actually...the youngest son of the patriarch of the Ironscale Clan."
Calder sighed as he looked into the distance. Hearing this, Emperal’s jaw almost hit the floor.
"Say what...?"
"Heh, it may be hard to believe. But it’s the truth. I am the bastard son of that bitch of a father. He had an affair outside with a snakeskin, that is. My mother, and from them, I was born."
At the end, Calder’s aura shifted. His joking and laughing aura vanished, replaced by pure...hatred.
His vertical pupils began to glow. "When it was discovered that I was born, the patriarch and his other wives gathered together and hunted my mother, burning her to ashes."
At the end, several veins had already popped on his forehead. The hatred was...deeply ingrained in his existence.
Emperal frowned when he heard those words. It was uncomfortable to hear it from such a jolly man.
But, he didn’t interrupt and let him continue. Calder took a few deep breaths to calm his thumping heart. But it was of no use.
"As a final act of mercy, or rather, to save his reputation, he let me live. I was a newborn then, and was assigned to the maids to take care of."
Emperal sighed when he heard this. It didn’t take a genius to know he was mistreated and possibly tortured in his own house.
Calder shifted his eyes, "I still had the chance, if only I had inherited my father’s noble blood. I would have had a place there. But, no. I was born with a common-grade bloodline, which further doomed my existence.
"I see, and after that, you ran away from there and have been under the cover of a broker," Emperal completed.
Calder couldn’t help but smile, "You always guess right, my friend."
"So? What are you gonna do from now on?" Emperal asked curiously.
"Till now, I had almost given up hope for revenge. Because of the obvious lack of strength, but with this...maybe now, I could at least dream about it."
Calder chuckled and laughed out loud.
"That’s the spirit."
Emperal nodded in appreciation, such a strong spirit...was rather rare nowadays.
"The Tidewatch Port will arrive in an hour or so, there we will go our separate ways. And let me tell you something, Calder."
Saying that, he stepped forward. Calder was surprised when he saw the intensity in his eyes.
"I have some scores to settle with royalty, too, so I need you to ascend and have my back when the time comes."
