Primal Dragon: The Dragon and Phoenix Empresses are Obsessed with Me!
Chapter 36: The roar that shook the heavens
Emperal’s eyes went cold when he heard those words, but being who he was, he still didn’t lose his cool.
"This foolish brat won’t act like the stupid cunt she is now; there is someone else pulling the strings."
The exact thoughts of Emperal, who was also observing from above. His eyes swept the entire Dragon Clan like hawk eyes.
"But...as long as I have Vraelyn. I don’t need to fear an—!!"
Emperal’s eyes widened when he saw four shadows materialize in front of him. He stopped walking.
"The Dragon Princess’ personal faction members"
Emperal muttered as he observed the five grinning men who were approaching him.
"Princess, what is the meaning of this?"
Emperal’s eyes turned sharp as he glared at the floating woman above.
"How dare you address me directly, you piece of trash!?" The princess scowled, raising her hand, she ordered the men below.
"Beat him and throw him outside."
The moment those words echoed, a fist crashed onto Emperal before he could even properly register the princess’s order.
Looking from above, Emperal gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. The next second, his clothes were almost torn, and he was beaten in the middle of the cheering crowd.
Emperal lay on the ground, receiving what felt like the twenty-eighth kick on his stomach. His swollen eyeball moved through the crowd...alongside the Emperal floating in the air.
In the highest chamber, there sat the Supreme Dragon Empress. Her silhouette was visible to all. Emperal’s heart felt heavy when he saw there was no movement inside the chamber.
"Was she...involved in this too? Or was she the one who wanted to sever ties—"
Just as his mind was about to be consumed by the overwhelming hatred.
VRRRAAAAAOOOHHH!!!
An earth-shaking, overwhelming Draconic roar burst through the skies. Causing heaven and earth to tremble.
It was so powerful that the reality or the illusion in which Emperal was staying...started to break apart.
Everything and everyone was reduced to dust, leaving a sole existence floating in the sky.
"This...? The Infernal Dragon?"
Emperal’s shocked voice reverberated through the skies before darkness swallowed him whole.
...
"HAH!!!!!!"
In an instant, Emperal snapped open his eyes and was horrified to see his entire body almost in a state of semi-paralysis.
With just his right ankle and left arm functioning, Emperal gathered all his Verth and concentrated on these parts—only to fail.
His Verth was frozen, and the Verth veins had narrowed so much that they were barely letting any visible Verth pass through the channels.
Not counting on his Spirit Root, Emperal hurriedly moved his ankle and left arm. After a few seconds, he began to move upward.
SPLASH!!
A hand shot out of the still but deadly pool, gripping the edges. Emperal used the remainder of his strength to propel himself upwards.
SPLASH!
After struggling for a few seconds, he finally managed to come out.
"Hah, huff!!! Huff!!"
Emperal took deep breaths, his hands couldn’t stop shaking as he was terrified.
"This...this was way too close! Even a few seconds later, I would have been an icicle for the likes of the Infernal Dragon."
His eyes unconsciously shifted to the spot where the earlier vessel was hovering, but to his surprise...there was nothing up there.
Fortunately, before he could have another panic attack, the Infernal Dragon’s calm voice echoed in his mind.
"Check your Spirit Root"
Which...he eagerly did, his eyes swept through the area where his Spirit Root was located. And the moment he saw that, his eyes widened.
"This..."
He couldn’t help but be speechless, above his Dormant Spirit Root. The earlier vessel was hovering exactly above it.
It was spinning silently as threads of pure Verth flowed down in a laminar flow. His Spirit Root was silently absorbing it.
Albeit in embarrassingly low quantities.
"Finally"
Emperal exhaled lightly and closed his eyes.
"Dragon, wake me up a few hours later and...thank you."
Saying that, Emperal drifted into the world of dreams. The Infernal Dragon was silent when he heard his words.
...
A few hours later...
Emperal’s brows flickered, light slowly returned to his eyes as a rough ceiling came into his view.
"...How long was I out?" Emperal slowly sat up and muttered sleepily.
"Exactly two hours and forty-five minutes," The Infernal Dragon replied. Emperal nodded.
Sitting up, he assessed himself. The Verth channels were restored, and his body was brimming with Verth and vitality.
"I...basically have my own Verth generator. Which is...far purer and more effective than the outside world."
It was indeed as such; he basically had an infinite Verth generator in his body. He would never run out of Verth.
But...
"Sigh...such a heavenly treasure is wasted on me," Emperal sighed, the Spirit Root. It can only absorb so much.
But everything wasn’t lost, the quality of Verth he had access to was basically purer than the purest Verth spot in the entire Draventhar. He didn’t know about Verandis, because there was also the Land of Elves.
He stepped towards the entrance and moved through the door. Walking ahead, he soon reached the end, where he saw a trembling Calder sitting cross-legged.
It had been exactly fifteen hours since they had arrived here, so it was natural that this guy couldn’t bear it any longer.
"Calder"
Emperal called out.
"I’m awake. Are you done with your business?"
Calder replied with his eyes still closed.
"Yes, now let’s go."
"Let’s go, huh, alright! You go inside Gorven’s stomach, and I will go inside Dresh’s as—"
Emperal kicked him before he could finish his words.
"Ouch!! Bastard, that hurts!"
Calder snapped open his eyes and hurriedly stood up, glaring at Emperal.
"Hurry up and let’s get the hell out of here, or you will be dead in the next few hours."
Emperal chided, hearing his voice, Calder shook his head and sighed.
"So? What’s the plan? I’m sure you have an escape plan, right?" Calder asked, hope shining in his eyes—only to be brutally crushed by Emperal’s next words.
"Nope, we rush outside. There is no other way out, since this ’space’ isn’t even in Verandis."
The moment those words echoed, all colour drained from Calder’s face.
"I knew it, you punk!!"
