"Shit! I let my guard down and underestimated him! And what the heck was that power!?"

The Verth Wielding Titankin sucked in a cold breath when he saw that.

With just a single kick, he had almost broken his skull! His eyes shifted to seriousness when he saw this.

A few meters away from him, the Alchemist lay on the ground, frozen. A bead of sweat dripped down his chin as he looked at Emperal in horror.

"H-He was that strong? No wonder that bastard asked if anyone else knew about this matter!"

The Alchemist hurriedly looked around, searching for an exit.

KUNCHHHH!!!

"Arghhhh!!!"

Before he could even attempt to get up, a small knife ripped through the air and stuck into his thigh, pinning him in place.

"Sit down for a few minutes there, I will be back."

Saying that, he swung his fist back instantly, blocking the gigantic fist, but this time, he wasn’t able to hold as Verth protected his body had thinned.

BOOM!!!

He was instantly smashed into the wall, cobwebs spread around the area, and dust filled the air.

"Cough!! Shit, my Verth! What a useless Spirit Root!" Emperal couldn’t help but curse, seeing his reaction. The Verth Wielder was surprised for a second before snorting in disdain.

"Hmph! A trash Spirit Root is trash at the end of the day. No matter who uses it!"

Saying that, he took out a sword. It was a longsword; gripping it tightly, he swung it a bit.

"But... a beast is still a beast. I don’t want to die a dog’s death," he muttered. In the next second, the air around him shifted, and his sword began to glow.

He coated it with his Verth, making it far sharper and more lethal than before.

"Well, it couldn’t get any worse."

Looking around, he still saw the Alchemist writhe in agony with a small sword stuck in his thigh. Gathering the remaining Verth in his legs, he jumped towards him with all his might.

Krnchh!!

With a sickening sound, he pulled the sword off his thigh, eliciting another feral cry out of the Alchemist’s throat.

"SON OF A BITCH!!!!!"

Emperal, of course, ignored him and turned towards the Verth Wielder, who was once again walking towards him calmly.

"It’s no use, you have almost exhausted all your Verth. It’s merely a matter of time before you fall."

"Worry about yourself first," Emperal snorted.

"That’s some situation you have gotten yourself into."

Suddenly, an arrogant voice echoed in his mind.

"What great timing, I really missed you."

Emperal smirked, sarcasm lacing his words. Hearing this, the Infernal Dragon merely chuckled.

"Haha, you really don’t realize your situation, do you? One hit and you are dead from that blade or... his fist."

"Thanks, that information was just what I needed."

"...Ahem, jokes aside. Go for the bottle near that man and consume one pill. Despite it not being a Verth restoration pill, it does contain enough Verth to use Kraeth’sol once more"

Emperal almost slapped his thighs. "The solution was in front of me all along."

Well, one couldn’t really blame him. From the moment he had arrived here, he had fought with the two of them, not getting even a single break. Naturally, his brain would omit some details to make his mind more alert.

His eyes shifted to the Verth Wielder. In a second, his blade came in a high diagonal that forced Emperal to jump backwards. The blade missed him by a few inches; if he had a bit of Verth inside him... he could have blocked it. But, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here.

Looking at the Titankin, rather than back away, he stepped into the strike’s ending. With a twist, he swung his blade towards his hand. The Titankin moved back immediately; he had good instincts. Emperal’s blade would have severed his wrist.

Emperal continued and pushed further. He was relying solely on his instincts and swordsmanship. In a matter of a few seconds, the two exchanged a dozen blows!

During the final exchange, Emperal lined his back with the Alchemist and deliberately took a hit, resulting in his body being smashed back towards the Alchemist.

"Hmm?" The Verth Wielder raised his brows when he saw, confused about Emperal’s actions.

Smashing onto the poor Alchemist, Emperal gritted his teeth as he endured the pain coursing through his body.

In a single second, he had found the bottle. Without hesitation, he swallowed one pill.

"Shit! He was after the damn pills!"

The Titan roared and dashed towards Emperal with all his might. Reaching above him, he swung his blade violently at the man.

Grabbing the wrists of the unconscious Alchemist, Emperal pulled the man over and ducked down!!

Slash!!!

SRRRR!!!!

To the horrifying realization of the Verth Wielder, his blade severed the Alchemist’s body... in half!

"W-What!?"

Ignoring the liters of blood and the internal organs stuck to his body, he hurriedly slid back and somersaulted, creating a safe distance.

"Huff... Hufff!! That was really close! He almost had me."

Emperal muttered and hurriedly popped the appearance-changing pill into his mouth. The moment he did, a warm feeling spread across his body, filling him with rejuvenating energy.

His face felt weird, as if insects were crawling all over him. For the change, he took the dead wolfkin’s face and memorized it.

Alongside the changing of appearance, Verth streamed in his veins and filled his entire body. His Verth was close to filling half his veins!

Essentially, he recovered nearly half of the Verth he had before coming here.

"Ahh~ Finally, that Dragon said something useful," Emperal muttered. With a swing, he slew the blood off his blade.

The Verth Wielder didn’t hesitate anymore. With a roar, he charged straight at Emperal!

"Heh, come. Even I wanted you close."

With a smirk, he threw the small sword towards the Verth Wielder, specifically his knees!

Since the Verth Wielder was charging towards him, he didn’t have much time to dodge the incoming knife. At the last moment, he managed to twist his legs.

Sweeeeshhh!!!

The knife barely missed his legs, but a deep scratch was still created. He couldn’t help but smirk.

"There goes your last cha—"

"Kraeth’sol"
