Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 231 - 229: The Archfiend, The Strongest Villain
Javier Sinclair gestured nearby and said, "They have roasted Spirit Hare over there... braised, spicy... Celeste, don’t you want some?"
He walked over, tossed down a handful of Spirit Stones, and bought a ready-roasted one to go.
"Don’t you want any? Are you sure?"
He walked beside her.
He reached out his hand,
and a flower appeared in it.
"For the mother of my child."
Celeste Grant chuckled softly.
"You think you can win me over with a single flower? In your dreams."
"I see. That must mean I haven’t given you enough."
He reached out his hand again, and several more flowers appeared.
And then, he snapped his fingers.
Red blossoms began to drift down from the sky.
The blossoms vanished moments after touching the ground. They were conjured using Cultivation and Magic.
The people in the night market stopped in their tracks.
"Wow, it’s so beautiful!"
"Why is it raining flowers? Is today some kind of holiday?"
"It must be a male cultivator with profound Cultivation trying to make a female cultivator happy. We’re just lucky enough to be here for it! Quick, take a picture for me with your phone. It’s gorgeous! Every single flower is a bit of his Cultivation. Who could be so extravagant? I can’t believe he’s using his Cultivation like this."
Someone pointed at the two of them.
"Look! I think it’s them."
"That guy is so smooth. No wonder he has a wife! My blessings to them. They look so perfect together."
Celeste Grant blushed. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
She grabbed his hand and ran.
"Come on, let’s go!"
Javier Sinclair let her pull him along.
His gaze was fixed on her.
’To me, the world is a fleeting illusion. Only you are as real as the verdant mountains.’
He wrapped an arm around her waist, and in an instant, they vanished from the night market, reappearing in a distant pavilion.
It was very quiet here.
They were alone.
When Celeste Grant turned her head, she found Javier Sinclair staring at her.
"What are you looking at? Let’s eat." As she spoke, she pulled him down to sit in the pavilion and handed him the barbecue. "And from now on, you’re not allowed to make it rain flowers whenever you feel like it."
Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "You didn’t like it?"
Celeste Grant blushed.
"I did like it... It was just a little embarrassing with so many people watching."
"I bought this roasted Spirit Hare for you. Eat up."
"Thank you, husband."
"So, am I still sleeping on the floor?"
"Seeing as you’ve behaved yourself, I suppose you don’t have to... for now."
The two of them sat in the pavilion, eating barbecue and talking, when they saw people approaching in the distance, their voices carrying over.
It was a female cultivator in white robes chasing a thin, young child who looked to be no older than ten.
Celeste Grant glanced over.
The female cultivator was none other than Jocelyn Grant.
Javier Sinclair looked at her.
"What’s this eyesore doing here? Should I toss her to the far ends of the earth?"
Celeste Grant shook her head slightly. "Let’s watch first."
Javier Sinclair nodded. "Alright."
He raised his hand slightly.
And casually set up a Barrier.
From inside the Barrier, Celeste Grant and Javier Sinclair could see out, but Jocelyn Grant, standing outside, could not see in. Likewise, she couldn’t hear their conversation.
Celeste Grant took a bite of her barbecue skewer, her eyes fixed on Jocelyn Grant.
’Wherever the heroine shows up, the wicked villainess always has to pop up just to be put in her place. This plot device is really something else.’
’Too bad for her. This villainess only knows how to pin the heroine down and beat her. Letting her turn the tables on me? Not even in her next life.’
’The plot is certainly persistent.’
’I was just trying to have a nice barbecue date at the night market with my husband. We even came to this secluded spot, and we still managed to run into Jocelyn Grant.’
Javier Sinclair looked at Celeste Grant and gently tapped her forehead. "What strange things are you muttering about now?"
Celeste Grant trusted him completely. So, as long as it was safe to talk, she didn’t mind telling him a few things.
With that thought, Celeste Grant pointed to herself, then toward Jocelyn Grant. "I’ve never explained this properly before. Do you know why The World’s Will has always favored Jocelyn Grant? Let me put it this way: this world was originally a story written with Jocelyn Grant as the main character. Then, some mighty being must have shifted the stars and constellations, creating this reality based on that story. The Cultivation World we live in is actually a real world that evolved from a world inside a book. Do you understand what I’m saying?"
Even as she spoke, she was testing the waters to see if she was allowed to say such things, half-afraid she’d be struck by lightning or that her life would ’restart’. She had dropped small hints to Javier Sinclair before, like how odd Jocelyn Grant was, but this was the first time she had revealed the true nature of their world. When nothing happened after she finished speaking, Celeste Grant breathed a sigh of relief.
Javier Sinclair looked at her.
"Is this another heavenly secret you’ve glimpsed?"
Javier Sinclair believed her. With his level of Cultivation, he could already perceive some of the fundamental laws and rules of the world.
He had always sensed something strange about this world, a feeling that it was both real and illusory. Ever since the Heavenly Dao last mended its rules, the world had felt more complete. Now, after hearing Celeste’s explanation, he finally understood.
’But for her to peer into such a critical secret... has it truly not harmed her?’
Thinking of this, Javier Sinclair brought his fingers together, lightly tapped her on the forehead, and scanned her entire being from top to bottom, including her Primordial Spirit.
He confirmed there wasn’t the slightest bit of damage.
"Glimpsing heavenly secrets truly doesn’t cause you any harm?"
Celeste Grant clasped his hand.
"Look at The Archfiend, so worried about me."
He averted his gaze slightly.
"You’re the mother of my child."
"Hehe. No wonder they say a man head-over-heels in love is the best gift a woman can ask for."
"Nonsense."
"Don’t worry. I’m perfectly fine."
Javier Sinclair’s gaze fell on her face.
"So, about this ’villainess’ and ’heroine’ you mentioned?"
Celeste Grant grinned.
Her face was alight with gossip.
And she began to tell him all about it.
"Okay, let me tell you. It’s the ’untold story’ of a female cultivator with a special constitution and her nine men. And the plot is... a little risqué. The heroine of this story is Jocelyn Grant. And me? I’m the wicked villainess of the book. I’m meant to be a living blood bank and a stepping stone for the heroine and her group on their Cultivation journey. I’m the villainess who’s supposed to pop up, cause some trouble, and then get humiliated by her."
Too bad for the original story, the Celeste Grant of this world was a transmigrator. This wicked villainess refused to follow the script. All she did was beat the heroine down.
"And the reason everything’s different now is because I know all this, and I refuse to bow to a pre-written destiny. Since I didn’t follow the original plot, the tables have turned. Now, I’m the one consistently putting Jocelyn Grant in her place, and man, it feels good."
She let out a cold laugh, her gaze turning icy as she looked toward Jocelyn Grant.
A hand reached out and gently stroked her head.
Then she heard him speak. "Celeste Grant, you’re not the wicked villainess. To me, you are the heroine."
Celeste Grant smiled.
"That’s right! Who says the villainess has to stay the villainess? Who says she can’t become the heroine? If you ask me, everyone in this world should be the protagonist of their own story. Why should anyone have to be someone else’s sidekick?"
Javier Sinclair asked curiously.
"Then what’s my role in this story?"
In truth, he could probably guess even if she didn’t tell him.
Celeste Grant smiled. "The ultimate villain. The kind that the heroine’s entire posse couldn’t defeat even if they all teamed up against you."
