"What’s up?" John asked.

"Thank God, you finally answered!" Emerald on the other end heard John’s voice and breathed a huge sigh of relief. "Boss, currently there are invitations from the World Pokemon Breeding Association, Mythical Research Association, and thirty-two other organizations. Which one do you want to go to?"

"Why so many invitations all at once?" John was confused. Normally there were invitations too, but never this many flooding in at once.

"Given your status, boss, only thirty-two made the cut. They’re the absolute top world-class organizations. Over a thousand national-level groups sent requests too, but I rejected all of them."

"Over a thousand?!" John was even more confused.

"That’s right."

"Why? What exactly happened?" John asked again.

"You don’t know?" This time it was Emerald’s turn to be suspicious.

"What am I supposed to know?" John had already gotten used to the differences between the game world and reality, but after this conversation with Emerald, he felt like he’d lived several lifetimes.

"Emmm, boss, just check the trending searches and you’ll understand."

John hung up and opened the news interface to check trending topics.
