Chapter 1031 - 332: Live Report from Yu Wenbo, Our On-Site Correspondent_3
???
A sense of foreboding lingered in Skai's mind. In just a moment of distraction, two bright tail flames indeed appeared on the distant sky, racing towards them at incredible speed.
"Anti-aircraft team! Prepare to engage!"
A squad scrambled out of the truck with single-man missiles in hand, opened the lens covers, connected the visualization systems, and attempted to lock onto the incoming military drones.
However, as soon as the ultraviolet and infrared lasers from their missiles tried to lock on, a warning immediately flashed on the pilot's side.
"Hmph..."
With a disdainful snort, they swiftly activated their electronic warfare systems, aiming intense electromagnetic interference signals and microwave radiation directly at the laser signal sources.
If it were a fully-fledged anti-aircraft system, they wouldn't dare try such tactics even if they had the guts, but these Cubans couldn't handle these weapons anyway.
On the other side, the anti-aircraft team quickly noticed the anomaly, and could only shout in the channel,
"Damn! We've exceeded the anti-interference system's limits, can't lock on, they're coming over."
It wasn't just the anti-aircraft missiles; even the soldiers manning the electrically-controlled electromagnetic machine guns felt their brains heat up, as their screens turned into mosaics and scrambled images, forcing them to retreat helplessly.
The commander's forehead exploded,
"Activate manual air defense, everyone else disembark and scatter!"
The Cuban troops scattered chaotically like ants, trying to minimize casualties in the impending bombardment.
Meanwhile, without electronic system assistance, it was difficult for the electromagnetic machine guns relying solely on human eyes to keep up with the high-speed hovering aircraft, resulting in a large number of shells being fired into empty space.
Whooshβ
The high-speed low-flying aircraft even stirred up a cloud of dust and debris, shrouding the surroundings in smoke and ash.
As the two planes approached overhead, the containers mounted beneath them opened up.
Black objects rained down from the containers like a carpet bombing, resembling aerial bombs being dropped.
But why were the bombing planes flying so low?
One of the black objects happened to fall not far from the commander.
Oh my, this thing was probably two or three meters high, packed with possibly hundreds of kilograms of explosives!
Terrified, the commander dashed for cover behind a large truck. ππ³π¦ππ€ππ£π―β΄π·π¦π.πππ
Yet the expected explosion didn't occur, and the surroundings fell eerily quiet.
It wasn't until the dust began to settle that one bold soldier peeked out from behind cover.
"What's this?"
He discovered that the nearby object seemed to be neither a bomb nor explosives.
The objects were lying or embedded in the ground, square-shaped, without any sign of detonation.
The partially transparent shells of several fallen objects had broken, revealing something mysterious inside.
Skai gestured with his mouth to his personal guard,
"You, go see what's inside."
The guard was reluctant but forced himself to approach one of the fallen objects.
Before he could speak, the thing inside started moving by itself.
Bang!
The display case lid was forcibly kicked open from the inside, and a person wearing a red and white coat with a red visor helmet emerged.
The surrounding Cuban soldiers were dumbfounded.
No... What's going on?
Are these things filled with people?
For some reason, the personal guard felt inexplicably panicked in front of this person, wanting to escape immediately.
Especially as the red visor lit up in the dark, casting a terrifying pressure that made his legs tremble.
"Interesting..."
The Truth Department member coldly said, looking at the enemy before him,
"Now, traitors, face the wall."
His voice was like a signal, as the display cases were successively kicked open, awakening the Hell Divers.
The personal guard swallowed, looking helplessly at the commander.
But in the moment he turned his head, the Truth Department member drew an electromagnetic pistol from his waist.
Bang!
The bullet pierced through the guard's head.
The commander shouted,
"Open fire!!! Take them down!"
The number of dropped Hell Divers exceeded a hundred, and despite being massively outnumbered and lacking concentrated firepower, they should have been immediately suppressed by the well-prepared armed forces.
Yet, as if intimidated by their descent from the sky, as soon as the firefight began, the Cuban soldiers rapidly found themselves at a disadvantage.
"Dare to fire at us, traitors, your courage is commendable and worthy of praise."
The Truth Division member sidestepped a volley of bullets, firing slowly and methodically at the surrounding enemies.
Every Hell Diver here was equipped with a full set of heavy subcutaneous armor and full-body heavy bulletproof vests, which, though not as absurdly bulletproof as the MT-3, needed almost no evasion against non-large-caliber weapons.
Moreover, everyone here was at least a level 25 combat soldier.
What does that mean?
Four of them could easily overrun an armed gang hideout of dozens.
It's reminiscent of the late-game stat inflation unique to RPGs.
Unlike the others, though, after the tense and thrilling crash-drop transition CG, the public relations crew kicked open their display case and pulled out not guns from their gear box.
But a camera.
Another player journalist, belonging to Brother Dao's station, eagerly ran over as the two found a relatively safe spot on the edge of the battlefield to start their broadcast.
The public relations crew pointed the camera at the journalist, giving an OK gesture.
"This is Yu Wenbo reporting live from the Cuban battlefield."
In front of the camera, Yu Wenbo spoke into the microphone,
"Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see, under the valiant assault of the Hell Divers, the long-entrenched Cuban rebels in the Pig Bay area are being crushed and falling apart!"
"Under the guidance of the Super Earth Government, the clearance operation against the rebels in this area is expected to be completed soon."
"What? You ask why the Hell Divers are so efficient? Of course, it's because of the Hell Diver Standard Armor, not only light and comfortable to wear, but also effectively resists enemy fire..."
