Pirate Kingship
Chapter 918 - 528: Blood Mist Night: Bizarre - Sheep Eater
As early as last night, Byron’s Guardsmen [Wings of Death] and the elite Marines of the Lancaster Party, under the command of Guardian Knight Bruch, [Blood Red Whiskey] Alfred, and Honest Man Eight Fingers, reoccupied Kingston.
Then, a curfew was imposed immediately, and stability was restored.
The Lancaster Party knew this city, which they had lost control of for two years, inside and out.
They swiftly occupied key departments, the national treasury, and watched over the residences of the Royalist Party’s core members...
After pirate ships blocked the sea routes, messengers were dispatched ashore to deliver orders to the lords’ castles and city halls.
Administrative officials and nobles were required to go to the Royal Capital to meet the new King and participate in the coronation ceremony of the [King of the Wild Hunt].
Failure to comply would label them as traitors, punishable by stripping of titles at best, and execution at worst.
Lords and core leaders of both the Royalist Party and the Earl’s Party were completely wiped out. There was no need for another battle to individually dismantle the fortresses; a single decree was enough to stabilize the entire country.
Of course, Byron’s New King Group almost hoped for a few insubordinate fools to pop up.
The pirate officers who hadn’t had their fill of excitement were clamoring for a scapegoat to make an example of, to show everyone who the true power was now!
Before dawn, the Guardsmen organized the ceremony for the new King’s entry into the city, announcing to all citizens of the Royal Capital that the Lancaster had returned.
They donned the formal uniforms of the Hightins, holding bolt-action rifles, lining up like iron walls on the Temm River Dock.
Behind them, citizens of all classes, officials, and nobles of the Royal Capital squeezed the limited space to the brim.
The major central administrative departments, the House of Commons, consulates of various countries, universities, chambers of commerce, and guilds of Transcendents... no organization dared to make an excuse not to attend, and those who came were certainly the prominent figures.
No matter their stance, upon seeing with their own eyes the [Legendary Warship Golden Deer] mentioned in the intelligence, and the Interdiction Cruiser Fleet seemingly all emanating golden light, they suddenly felt as if they had awakened a talent for "singing and dancing"; being gentle and compliant was their true nature.
They embodied the phrase "rule by virtue" to perfection.
So, without waiting for the Lancaster ceremonial officers to lead, the cheers of the people from all walks of life, deeply impressed by the new King’s "virtue," rose like a tidal wave:
"Long live Your Majesty!"
"Long live!..."
Byron, riding on the [Eight-legged Horse] Sleipnir, was the first to step onto the port; neither his uncle nor his father came to steal his thunder.
Accompanying him were the two queens, Catherine and Violet, riding Phantom Warhorses.
Cardinal Archbishop Teresa, holding a Silver Cross and radiating Holy Light, followed closely, symbolizing support from the "Church."
Behind them were over a hundred towering, icy Full-Armor Knights from the [Mad Hunt Legion], with the colorful iris flag, representing Byron’s identity, fluttering in the wind.
Once they dismounted, the knights marched in perfect sync, causing even the ground to tremble slightly.
Even though it was the most splendid parade, to others it resembled more a ruthless slaughter machine like a flood.
Behind them were the neatly arranged Navy and Marines, with impeccable military dress and solemn expressions, not the slightest hint of a disorderly force.
Their entire beings exuded the new regime’s distinctive enthusiasm and strict military discipline, in stark contrast to the private armies of the nobles.
In Byron’s Spirit Vision, he could clearly see the wavering Mind Wish Power above the Royal Capital quickly stabilizing, nodding in satisfaction:
"He who is strong leads, this is the firmest Mandate of Heaven in the Mortal World."
Some people reminisced about his undefeated grandfather Henry V and his kind and virtuous uncle Henry VI, hoping for the Lancaster’s lawful succession to continue with him.
Some people admired power, firmly believing that justice would conquer evil because power itself represented justice, feeling fortunate to have a strong protector.
But more people feared his military might, and after weighing the pros and cons, they realized the consequences of causing trouble might cost their precious lives, so they quickly hid away their various schemes...
The collective is indeed the strongest power in this world, yet mastering the art of leading people to follow their will is the most difficult knowledge.
As Byron led the procession forward, waving to the people, he saw a banner made with the headline of an extra edition:
"Welcome Your Majesty to his loyal Kingston!
The people of Kingston, who suffered under the tyrannical rule of the White Rose Family, will be forever loyal to the great Red Rose!"
But he shook his head inwardly:
"Eternal loyalty? What an extravagant word.
Edward IV lost his throne because he believed in the nonsense of ’Great Loyalist Byron Tudor.’
There is no eternal loyalty in this world, only eternal interests."
Mortals can hardly imagine the great power of Gods, even if it’s just a Pseudo-God, they are experts at manipulating Mind Wish Power.
[Nether Authority] allows Byron to directly observe and interfere with the sea of human collective subconsciousness, clearly seeing the emotional Divine Light exposed on each "collective" at this moment.
Blue represents calmness and reason, yellow signifies joy and hope, red stands for enthusiasm and welcome, black-red indicates hostility, pure black denotes hatred...
Especially the "forgiveness rumors" spread by Gus had quietly fermented for a night, and with the [Echoes of History], who supported and who opposed was all laid bare.
