Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 916 - 918: How Is the Affair Progressing?
Linda found that Edward Benson was treating her increasingly well.
It’s fair to say he was attentive to every detail of her daily life, taking care of everything personally, leaving nothing out. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Linda sat on the sofa flipping through a magazine, spotted Edward Benson coming out from inside the kitchen carrying a fruit plate.
"Linda, I just made a fruit plate with all the fruits you like to eat."
Edward Benson placed the fruit plate in front of her, handing her a fruit fork, Linda lifted her eyelids, looking at him, "I don’t like fruit."
Edward Benson didn’t argue with her, just encouraged, "Then try a bit."
Linda put down the magazine, took the fruit fork he handed over, it was clear he had put in effort into arranging the fruit plate.
Linda ate a piece of kiwifruit and watermelon, then put down the fruit fork.
"Why, is it not good?" Edward Benson’s eyes couldn’t hide the disappointment, he had tasted all the fruits beforehand, only the ones sweet enough did he arrange on the plate.
Ensuring every piece of fruit she ate was sweet.
"I don’t like it." Linda said blandly, picking up the magazine and continued flipping through it.
She didn’t know how long this kind of life would continue; she didn’t want to share space with Edward Benson, let alone live under the same roof with him.
Facing him every day gave her a lot of pressure.
No, it was his kindness to her that gave her a lot of pressure.
She just wanted to complete the mission quickly, report back to Lillian Spencer, and then with Lillian Spencer’s help, seek her revenge.
Edward Benson took the magazine out of her hand, sat down beside her as she looked at him in surprise, and said softly, "Staying in the house all the time, are you bored? The weather is good today, why don’t we go out for some fun, how about it?"
"Fun doing what?"
"How about going to the Amusement Park?" Edward Benson remembered that she used to love sitting on the carrousel.
She had said that sitting on the carrousel gave her a feeling as if she could walk with him until the end of time.
At the mention of the Amusement Park, Linda instinctively scoffed, "I won’t go to such a place."
"Why?" Edward Benson frowned, "You used to love going to the Amusement Park, and whenever I had time, you’d pull me along to ride the carrousel..."
In the past, in the past, always talking about the past!
Linda was sick of hearing him talk about her past, she lifted her hand to press her brow, suppressing the anger in her heart, "You said it yourself, that was the past, even if the old me liked it, the current me doesn’t. Edward Benson, I’ve said it, don’t bring up the past in front of me, I’ve forgotten everything, even if you tell me, I have no feelings, it only makes me feel burdened, stressed."
Eyes full of hope, gradually dimmed, as if all starlight had fallen.
Edward Benson smiled bitterly, lowering his head with an expression of loss, "Sorry... it’s my fault, I forgot you didn’t want to hear me say those things."
Linda only felt annoyed and restless, she stood up, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll go upstairs to get some rest."
Around him, Linda quickly walked upstairs.
Behind her, Edward Benson’s concerned voice came, "If you’re tired, have a good rest, I’ll call you at dinner."
Linda’s pace quickened even more, she returned to the bedroom, shut the door, and instinctively locked it.
The mobile phone rang, she glanced at it, then answered the telephone, "Miss."
Lillian Spencer’s indifferent voice drifted through the radio wave, "How’s the affair progressing?"
Speaking of progress, Linda felt a wave of guilt.
