Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 1008 - 1010: Sophie Sullivan Is Truly... the Ultimate Life Winner
On the way to the medical office, rage kept churning in his chest; when he left in the morning, she’d still been obediently seeing him off to the company.
He never thought that in just that short length of time after he left, she’d already gotten so chummy and flirty with Lucifer.
Was his death or something?!
In the corridor of the medical office, when the nurses saw Thomas Shannon striding over, radiating murderous intent, they were so scared they all dropped their heads and backed to the side. "Young Master..."
Inside the room, Sophie Sullivan vaguely heard the nurses outside calling out Thomas Shannon’s voice.
She frowned slightly and had just turned her head to look when the room door was violently kicked open by someone.
The door panel slammed hard against the wall with a big noise.
Fluffy Zane’s whole body trembled; she was scared out of her wits.
Seeing Thomas Shannon’s gloomy face, she worriedly glanced at Sophie Sullivan and Lucifer, only to discover that the latter didn’t show the slightest hint of unease or fear.
She sighed quietly to herself; in the end, her skills were just not on their level—she simply couldn’t compare to them.
"Thomas Shannon, we meet again." Lucifer smiled, one hand still intimately resting on Sophie Sullivan’s shoulders.
"Thomas Shannon, why are you back?" Sophie Sullivan was a little surprised. What time was it? Didn’t he say today he’d be busy with public affairs? How come he was back?
No, something was off. With this stormy, aggressive stance, he looked more like he’d come to... catch someone cheating.
Thomas Shannon’s gaze fell on that arm Lucifer had draped over Sophie Sullivan’s shoulders. The more he looked, the more of an eyesore it became. His face was dark as frost, thin lips pressed tightly into a line. He lunged forward in one swift step, grabbed Lucifer’s arm, and flung it away hard.
With his other hand, he smoothly circled Sophie Sullivan’s soft, slender waist, pulling her into his own embrace and holding her tightly.
The sudden change all happened in an instant.
Sophie Sullivan hadn’t even had time to react before she was overbearingly swept into Thomas Shannon’s embrace.
The arm wrapped around her waist was so tight it felt like he wanted to slice her in half at the middle.
She struggled to push at him. "Thomas Shannon, ease up a little, I can barely breathe."
Thomas Shannon lowered his eyes, those cold eyes deep and pitch‑black, devoid of any warmth. The words he spoke were even more frigid, not carrying a shred of emotion. "Might as well strangle you to death."
"..." Sophie Sullivan glared at him.
Lightly shaking out his arm, Lucifer gave a soft, derisive snort. "Thomas Shannon, you’re still as rude as ever."
Brutal and rude.
What on earth did Cecilia Branford see in him?
In Lucifer’s eyes, Thomas Shannon was just a walking bundle of flaws: completely tone‑deaf to romance, rude and violent, practically a textbook example of what not to be.
He truly couldn’t figure it out—what on earth was so outstanding about him that could win Cecilia Branford’s favor?
"Lucifer, you still like making moves on other men’s women just as much as ever." Thomas Shannon shot back sarcastically.
Autumn Johnson’s eyes spun rapidly, darting back and forth between the three faces.
She had to admit, Sophie Sullivan was really... the ultimate winner at life.
She actually managed to run into top-notch men like these.
Over 20 years of childhood sweethearts’ feelings, and that childhood sweethearts of hers absolutely doted on her.
In just this short length of time together, she’d already seen Lucifer’s deep affection for her...
By contrast, she herself was also childhood sweethearts, and the Zane and Guillen Families were family friends as well. So why didn’t she have Sophie Sullivan’s kind of luck, to make William Guillen be devoted to her, cherish her, and dote on her?
Thinking of William Guillen, a faint trace of melancholy brushed across the tip of her heart. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Lucifer let out a mocking laugh, utterly disdainful of the implied claim of ownership in his words. "Thomas Shannon, Cecilia Branford is still single right now. You’re nobody to her, so you’re in no position to say that."
