The dark elf was frustrated. Fighting against the onslaught of the Sky-reaching Vine, he could only wield the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail once more, the only way to regain the upper hand. He angrily shouted, "Sky-reaching Vine, you asked for this, go!"

"Swoosh!"

Under the dark elf’s control, the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail turned into a shooting star, rushing towards the mass of serpentine vines. In his view, these vines would surely retreat in a disgraceful manner just as before, unable to even contemplate resistance under the threat of the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail.

However, reality was always full of drama and unexpected turns.

The dark elf was shocked to discover that this mass of vines acted as if insane, choosing to confront the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail head-on. Even if sucked dry by the nail, they would immediately sever themselves, only for more vines to attack again with a desperate fervor that made everyone feel the madness of the Sky-reaching Vine.

The Elf Queen, witnessing this scene, found it unbelievable. Commanding the Sky-reaching Vine, she had never achieved this level of aggression; she could only make it perform simple attacks. The reason why the Sky-reaching Vine displayed such insanity must be directly related to this Undead skeleton.

For a moment, Su Ran developed a sense of mystery in the minds of the elves, and even his status rose significantly.

"Haha, the Sky-reaching Vine is showing its power. Let this BOSS brag, see if he’s panicking now?"

Seeking even more fun, Banana shot several arrows at the torso of the dark elf Fandi, aiming to divert this fellow’s attention.

After a brief moment of shock, the Elf Queen also launched her attack, with beams of light repeatedly striking out mercilessly at this giant tree.

"Despicable!"

The dark elf was at this point overwhelmed and bitter. What he most hoped for now was to annihilate this damned Undead skeleton, but with the intervention of the Sky-reaching Vine, he was utterly unable to attack the skeleton, let alone kill it. Now that the Elf Queen was attacking him too, the dark elf was even more annoyed, overly distracted, and carelessly got struck in the trunk by a laser.

"Great opportunity~!"

Su Ran exclaimed with delight and couldn’t wait to shout, "Vine brother, don’t hesitate, take action now!"

Before Su Ran’s words had even finished echoing, countless vines burst forth, wrapping around that branch and tightening fiercely. The dark elf had no chance to react before the branch was severed in two and fell to the ground. Without control, the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail’s light faded away, losing its former glory.

"Haha, success!"

A bright gleam burst from Su Ran’s eyes. He rushed over immediately, wanting to seize this supreme weapon in his hand.

"Damn it, damn it!!!"

The dark elf stared fixedly in Su Ran’s direction, his red eyes nearly dripping blood, and, in his rage, he straightforwardly abandoned his defense, forcefully summoning over ten thick roots that tore through the vine’s defense and roared towards the Undead skeleton.

"Overturning Water, be careful!"

As the dark elf’s attack was swift and furious, Banana was incredibly anxious but unable to change the tide, only able to watch as Su Ran was engulfed by the roots.

"It’s over!"

Seeing that the outcome was now inevitable, a deathly pallor spread over Banana’s face. With so many powerful roots attacking simultaneously, even an extra life wouldn’t be enough to avoid death!

With Overturning Water dead, who would confront the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail?

Banana couldn’t help but envisage the Elf Queen’s disastrous defeat, and then, a sense of retreat emerged.

"Whoosh!"

A dusky glow flashed past, and all the roots deflated like they had lost air, withering rapidly and spreading toward their main body with incredible speed, just like a computer virus, infecting at breakneck pace.

"Damn it, this kid succeeded!"

The dark elf’s face changed drastically, and he immediately cut off his connection with the roots after going through the heroic act of amputating a part of his body, leaving him somewhat languid and dispirited.

"Whew, that was close! Thank goodness I have an invincible skill, or it really would have been touch-and-go!"

Su Ran crawled out from the wrinkled bark, his body radiating a golden glow that anyone with eyes could see was the domineering sheen of invincibility.

"Haha, Overturning Water, you’re all right! You’re just like a cockroach, impossible to kill!"

Seeing that Su Ran was not dead, Banana jumped up in surprise, and even Wu Qing showed a relieved smile.

"Peeuw, you’re the cockroach!"

Su Ran grumbled unhappily, feeling that he could never hear anything nice from Banana’s mouth.

However, Su Ran saw the concern of the two of them, and it inexplicably warmed his heart.

"Just you wait! One day, I will come back!"

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, the dark elf, having lost his biggest reliance, no longer embarrassed himself and, after throwing out a fierce threat, bolted like a cannonball towards a crack in the palace wall. In his view, once he escaped the Elf Palace, he would be as free as a bird.

However.

Reality is always crueler than our dreams.

Though the dark elf had the advantage of starting first, he had not anticipated that, after squeezing into the crack, he would get stuck.

An awkward atmosphere began to spread, leaving Su Ran and the others a bit stupefied by the dark elf’s bizarre move.

"So tell me, doesn’t this count as him giving us experience points?"

Banana looked at the dark elf struggling in the wall and felt it was rather absurd.

"What are you standing around for? Kill him now, do you want to let this BOSS escape?"

Impatient and amused, Wu Qing, being a melee fighter unable to help much, chided the others, who along with an elf queen, just stood there dumbfounded.

Spurred by Wu Qing’s reminder, a one-sided battle began. The dark elf’s big butt (base) suffered ungodly torment, and his health plummeted.

Seizing the opportunity, Su Ran slashed a cut on the dark elf’s trunk with his Wood-Corroding Sky Nail, but to his astonishment, once the nail touched the dark elf’s trunk, it broke free from Su Ran’s grip and, like a leech, burrowed into the dark elf’s body, wreaking havoc within.

No matter how the dark elf shrieked and howled, it couldn’t alter his doomed fate, and he ultimately turned into a dry piece of bark, scattered across the crack.

Since the dark elf was killed by the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail, Su Ran, after all his efforts, didn’t even gain a bit of experience, nor did he get a potion drop—how stingy!

Su Ran, feeling moody, pouted and turned over the dark elf’s bark, digging out the Wood-Corroding Sky Nail. He then noticed that after absorbing the dark elf’s energy, much of the rust on its surface had disappeared, and the nail emitted a chilling, captivating gleam.
