Obtaining Top Art on Family's Extermination Night
Chapter 74: I’ll Eat You
Fang Shuwen’s words were a blatant threat.
He simply couldn’t be sure if these two would actually save anyone.
Back when Lu Guiyan was struck by a Poison Dart from the Fierce Tiger Gang and on the verge of death, they had just watched on coldly, completely indifferent.
If he hadn’t learned their identities from Bai Liuxian, who would have ever guessed these two were doctors?
’Since Wu Lingxiao’s injuries were so severe that only they could treat him, these two must be anything but ordinary...’
’If they treat her, maybe Zuo Qingshuang can recover without me having to do anything.’
’On the other hand... if they refuse to help, the system mission only said to escort them to Flying Snow City. It didn’t say anything about what happens *after* they arrive.’
The two of them understood the meaning behind Fang Shuwen’s words. After exchanging a look, they climbed down from the wall and walked over to Zuo Qingshuang.
They didn’t dare gamble on whether Fang Shuwen was just bluffing.
They could tell from his words that Fang Shuwen already knew their identities.
As such, Fang Shuwen clearly bore a grudge against them.
This meant his words were most likely not just an empty threat...
So, after coming down, one of them took Zuo Qingshuang’s pulse while the other took out a needle pouch from his robes.
The corner of Fang Shuwen’s mouth twitched. ’So they really are doctors.’
He turned back to see the Great Monk from Nianhua Zen Temple, his body glowing with brilliant golden light. Chanting "Amitabha Buddha," he was relentlessly pummeling Cao Jiuyin with his fists.
Golden light flowed with every punch, causing the fat on Cao Jiuyin’s body to tremble.
Another Great Monk, however, was half-kneeling on the ground, blood trickling from his mouth. Still, from the looks of it, his injuries weren’t as severe as Zuo Qingshuang’s.
Meanwhile, the lead expert from Flying Star Hall also leaped into the air and sent a Flying Star Dart straight into Cao Jiuyin’s back.
A soft THWACK was heard.
There was a trick to this Flying Star Dart. After piercing the body, it exploded from beneath the skin, blasting a gruesome, bloody hole in Cao Jiuyin’s back.
But before any blood could flow out, the flesh began to squirm frantically. With a sudden contraction, the newly formed hole closed up, leaving not a single trace on the surface of his skin.
"What kind of Martial Arts is that?"
Seeing this, Fang Shuwen felt his eyes had truly been opened.
Compared to the conventional methods of the Renowned and Righteous Sects, the Martial Arts of this Demon Dao were truly full of endless, bizarre tricks.
Just then, an old Daoist from the Taixu Dao flicked his Duster. Thousands of strands shot out like rain, forming a dense wave of Sword Qi that aimed for the vital points on Cao Jiuyin’s side.
Watching the man deploy his Martial Arts, Fang Shuwen found it somewhat familiar.
’Wasn’t there a Daoist whose head I punched into his own chest cavity that used a similar technique?’
As the thought crossed his mind, he saw Cao Jiuyin throw out an arm to block the rain of Sword Qi. In an instant, his arm was riddled with holes.
The Great Monk from Nianhua Zen Temple then let out a roar:
"My Buddha is merciful!!!"
He yanked the Buddha Beads from his chest. WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH.
Each of the beads shimmered with golden light as they instantly buried themselves in the fat of Cao Jiuyin’s chest.
SQUELCH!
An expert from the Cangwu Sword Sect, who had been waiting for an opening, lunged forward. His longsword thrust diagonally, sinking into Cao Jiuyin’s ribs on the other side. The entire blade vanished up to the hilt. He twisted the blade and snarled through gritted teeth:
"Die!!!"
In that instant, aside from the beautiful woman from Yuqing Pavilion and Wentian Mansion which had left earlier, all the other experts unleashed their killing blows.
Fang Shuwen, however, frowned slightly. He grabbed the beautiful woman from Yuqing Pavilion who was about to rush forward and lend her strength, shouting in a low voice:
"Everyone, fall back!!"
But his warning came a step too late.
Cao Jiuyin’s flesh suddenly swelled. With a single breath, a sound like the wailing of ghosts and howling of wolves suddenly echoed in all directions.
As his Inner Strength circulated, streams of True Qi erupted from his body, sweeping outwards in the blink of an eye.
The Great Monk from Nianhua Zen Temple was the first to be hit.
The Prayer Beads he had shot were embedded in Cao Jiuyin’s chest. As the flesh swelled, they were the first to be sent flying back.
The Great Monk cried out in alarm and tried to block them, but he couldn’t stop them all. One of the Prayer Beads struck him in the chest.
However, the Great Monk must have had some kind of protective art. When the bead hit him, it didn’t make the sound of striking flesh, but rather a crisp shattering noise.
He was sent flying more than twenty feet, half-kneeling on the ground as he coughed up a large mouthful of blood.
The experts from the Cangwu Sword Sect, the Taixu Dao, and Flying Star Hall were also sent flying by the blast of True Qi.
They tumbled several times in mid-air before landing unsteadily on the ground, each of them spitting up blood.
Cao Jiuyin was drenched in blood, his flesh roiling, yet in the blink of an eye, he had recovered completely.
His beady, soybean-sized eyes swept over the crowd. He gave a cold smile.
"The Seven Eastern Sects... you overestimate yourselves. You think the likes of you can kill me?!"
Clutching his chest, the Great Monk struggled to his feet.
"My senior brother, Liaokong... where is he now?"
"You mean that old monk?"
Cao Jiuyin gave a savage grin.
"He’s been integrated into my flesh and blood. As for his bones, I tossed them on the back mountain to feed the wolves."
"You... you... ate him?!"
The Great Monk’s face paled, then flushed with rage.
"You demonic heretic! You deserve death!!!"
"On your own?"
Cao Jiuyin sneered.
"You stinking monks from Nianhua Zen Temple have unremarkable Martial Arts, but your flesh and blood are excellent... quite nourishing!
"Perfect timing, I’ll just borrow your flesh for my use!!"
With that, he strode forward, heading straight for the monk.
The monk roared in anger, True Qi circulating through his body. But his Body-Protecting Divine Technique had been broken, and he was now a spent force.
The beautiful woman from Yuqing Pavilion was about to rush forward to help when she heard Fang Shuwen say:
"Stay here and protect Elder Zuo."
The beautiful woman was taken aback. ’If I stay here and protect Zuo Qingshuang, what are you going to do?’
In her astonishment, she saw Fang Shuwen take a step forward.
His figure flashed like a green cloud, and he was already in front of the Great Monk.
The Great Monk had already resolved to fight to the death. Not just to avenge his senior brother, but also to rid the world of this demonic heretic for the sake of all living things, and to seek justice for those who had been eaten by him.
Even if he died, it would just mean going to see the Buddha a little sooner.
He never expected that his vision would blur and a person would suddenly appear before him.
The Great Monk was stunned.
"Young Donor Fang..."
Before he could say another word, Fang Shuwen’s right hand formed a seal, and he decisively struck out with the [Demon-Suppressing Seal].
This was different from his previous fights; Cao Jiuyin was obviously going to be very difficult to kill.
Fang Shuwen put more force into this Palm Power, so much so that as his Palm Technique lashed out, it generated the sound of wind and thunder.
Just as he struck, Cao Jiuyin arrived. Seeing Fang Shuwen right in front of him, a venomous look flashed in his eyes.
"Still daring to meddle in others’ affairs?!
"I’ll eat you first!!"
As he spoke, a tremendous, muffled BOOM echoed out.
His fist and Fang Shuwen’s [Demon-Suppressing Seal] had already collided!
