’Heh.’
Kane stepped out of Greta’s private chambers, pulling the door shut behind him.
He casually adjusted his pants and tightened his belt; his long red hair was messy, sticking out in several directions, and his shirt hung open to expose his muscular chest.
There was still some scent of sweat and sex, but he didn’t care who noticed. A satisfied smirk rested on his face because he had finally claimed the village chief.
As he turned down the narrow hallway, Gina walked right toward the chamber door.
The blonde guard held her spear tight, likely coming to check on Greta after hearing the noise.
They almost bumped into each other. Gina froze in her tracks, her eyes widened as she took in his disheveled appearance and caught the scent lingering in the air.
A blush crept up her neck, painting her cheeks with a mix of shock, anger, and unwanted arousal.
"What... are you doing here?" Gina stammered.
"Fulfilling your Chief’s wishes," Kane smirked, looking her up and down with open amusement. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"She was very loud about it."
He leaned in slightly, closing the distance between them so she could feel his body heat, then lowered his voice to a whisper.
"You should try it sometime. It might loosen that stick up your ass."
Gina stood speechless. She clenched her fists around her spear shaft, her face burning with embarrassment and fury.
Kane did not wait for her to find her voice. He walked right past her with a cocky chuckle, leaving her fuming in the hallway.
He stepped out into the morning air and ran a hand through his long red hair.
The strands fell past his shoulders now, tangling in the gentle breeze.
’Now that the village is relatively safe, it is time to move on soon,’ Kane thought to himself.
’This hair is getting annoying in fights, and it blinds me when I swing my axes. I will have Thora cut it short tonight.’
He walked toward the village center, his mind shifting from his physical needs to the strange reality of this world.
The transition from the virtual game to this physical existence still bothered his logical mind.
’Why isn’t this world giving me proper events and quests like the game?’ he wondered, crossing his arms as he walked down the path.
’It’s only acting as a shop so far. There should be rare loot drops from these worms, hidden bosses spawning in the fields, and title rewards popping up everywhere. Something feels off about how the system operates here.’
Before he could dwell on the missing game mechanics, loud shouting erupted near the main gate.
The sudden commotion drew his attention immediately.
He turned toward the noise and watched four elite knights ride into the village square on tall white horses.
They wore high-quality silver armor with elegant golden accents, and long white capes flowed behind them.
A majestic eagle emblem adorned their breastplates. The armor was surprisingly form-fitting, accentuating their strong yet feminine bodies without sacrificing actual protection.
Kane narrowed his eyes, searching his deep meta-knowledge for their origin.
’The Millenia Empire,’ he realized quickly.
’A place ruled exclusively by women.’
The lead knight brought her horse to a halt right in the center of the square.
She was a beautiful blonde woman who appeared to be around thirty years old, with sharp aristocratic features, striking blue eyes, and an athletic yet voluptuous figure.
With graceful movement, she swung her leg over the saddle and dismounted, then removed her silver helmet, allowing her long golden hair to cascade freely down her back.
Her expression twisted with open disgust as she looked over the mixed crowd of villagers and barbarians gathered before her.
A young barbarian stood a little too close to her horse.
She stepped forward and kicked him hard in the chest, sending him sprawling into the dirt.
A male villager tried to help the boy up, but she kicked the villager out of the way, too.
Both men crashed to the ground, groaning in pain.
"Disgusting," the blonde knight sneered, her voice cold and arrogant.
"How far have you fallen, Greta, living with these filthy savages and letting them touch you?"
Her blue eyes locked onto Kane. She had clearly heard the rumors on the road about a barbarian warlord who took the village, and Kane fit the description perfectly.
She marched straight toward him, radiating hostility with every step.
"So you are the barbarian dog who has been defiling our former commander?" she demanded, stopping just a few feet away.
"Pathetic. I will drag Greta back to Millenia myself and cleanse her shame."
She did not wait for a response, immediately shifted her weight, and threw a powerful punch aimed right at Kane’s jaw.
Kane didn’t flinch.
He casually raised his large hand and caught Verdia’s incoming fist in his palm with effortless precision.
A thud echoed through the square as the impact landed, yet his arm remained completely unmoved, as solid and unyielding as a mountain.
His fingers wrapped tightly around her knuckles, locking her in place so she couldn’t pull away even an inch.
The entire square fell into a deathly silence.
Villagers held their breath. The three remaining imperial knights atop their horses stared in open shock, unable to believe what they were seeing.
No one expected a wild barbarian from the forest to casually stop an elite imperial knight’s strike with such overwhelming ease.
"You’ve got quite the temper for a stuck-up bitch. Touch me again, and I will put you on your knees like I did your precious Chief."
The blonde knight’s eyes widened in outrage. Her face flushed with anger as she struggled against his iron grip. The three knights behind her immediately drew their silver swords, the sharp metal ringing clearly across the quiet courtyard.
"Enough," a familiar voice called out over the tense silence.
Greta hurried into the square. She was still slightly flushed from their earlier encounter in her bedroom, and she hastily adjusted the collar of her silk robe as she walked over. She stepped right between Kane and the angry knight, forcing Kane to release the woman’s fist.
"Stand down, Verdia," Greta sighed, sounding more exhausted than angry.
"He is not your enemy."
She turned her gaze to the four armored women, her amber eyes filled with complicated emotions, mixing old regrets with genuine surprise.
"It has been a long time," Greta said softly, her voice barely carrying over the wind.
"I never thought the Empire would send my old squad to find me."
