Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 881 - 878: Really Quite Low-Key
Chapter 881: Chapter 878: Really Quite Low-Key
"Since that’s the case, let’s do as Brother Lin says," Yun Xiaotian agreed without probing further, understanding the importance of knowing when to stop.
After hanging up Yun Xiaotian’s call, Lin Tian thought for a moment and decided to call the eldest Miss. After all, she’s the host around here, whereas he’s just temporary.
"Miss, Yun Xiaotian will be visiting tomorrow," Lin Tian said directly as soon as the call connected.
"Yes, I’m already aware of this. The Yun family’s butler has formally sent a visiting card to mother," Xiao Manxue’s calm voice came through.
A butler? Lin Tian was a bit surprised. Big families truly are different, having a concept like a butler, which is usually something ancient families or Western nobility have.
Previously, Lin Tian thought that Elder Han was the Xiao Family’s butler, but later learned that Elder Han was a senior executive at the Xiao Group, and the Xiao Family had no butler. This shows that the Xiao Family and the Yun Family are quite distinct.
The Yun family sending this card likely has something to do with the eldest Miss as well. The old folks of the Yun family believe that the eldest Miss has a good luck aura and brings prosperity, so they keep urging Yun Xiaotian to court her. This time is also to create an opportunity for them to meet.
However, what they don’t know is that Yun Xiaotian has no intention of pursuing her, more so putting on a show, and the eldest Miss is even less likely to fancy this brat, so the Yun family is essentially expending effort in vain.
"It seems the old folks of the Yun family are still persistent about you, Miss..." Lin Tian said with a smiling face, but before he could finish, the busy signal had already sounded in the phone, clearly indicating the Miss found it boring and had no time for such nonsense.
Lin Tian chuckled and shook his head, continuing to immerse himself in the study of the pharmacist’s notes.
Early the next morning, just after Lin Tian finished his exercises and was about to wrap up, familiar knocking came from outside the door. In the vast Xiao Family, only Xiao Manxuan would knock so audaciously.
"Second Miss, you’re disrupting my sweet dreams again," Lin Tian said deliberately as he opened the door.
The little girl today was wearing a white dress. Even without her school uniform, she looked youthful and vibrant, her skin appearing even whiter and more delicate against the white dress. Her pretty face had a faint blush, clearly reminded of something by Lin Tian’s mention of sweet dreams.
"Hmph, mom asked me to come and tell you to get up quickly," Xiao Manxuan retorted with a pout.
Mrs. Xiao has returned as well? Seems like the Yun Family holds considerable influence, Lin Tian thought with surprise. "Alright, I’ll head down now."
Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan went down to the living room, and sure enough, they saw Mrs. Xiao standing by the dining table, chatting with the eldest Miss.
After not seeing her for some days, Mrs. Xiao was still radiant, her skin smooth, and her figure curvaceous. She looked like a pair of sister blossoms standing next to the eldest Miss, and Lin Tian was somewhat dazed.
Noticing Lin Tian’s unabashed gaze, Mrs. Xiao turned around and elegantly smiled, "Good morning, Lin Tian."
"Good morning, Mrs. Xiao. It’s been a while, but you are still as beautiful as ever," Lin Tian said frankly and honestly.
Mrs. Xiao didn’t respond directly to his words, but smiled, "During my absence, the Xiao Family was fortunate to have your care. Xuanxuan wasn’t too much of a trouble for you, was she?"
"Mom, I wasn’t any trouble at all," Xiao Manxuan pouted playfully.
"Hehe, the Second Miss has grown up and of course wasn’t any trouble, and it’s my duty, no need for thanks," Lin Tian replied earnestly. Xiao Manxuan gave Lin Tian a satisfied glance.
The eldest Miss, of course, noticed the little glances exchanged between the two, and couldn’t help but glare at Lin Tian, saying, "Mom, the people from the Yun Family are almost here, let’s go greet them."
"Yes, go ahead, Lin Tian, you should go as well," Mrs. Xiao nodded and said.
Although Lin Tian didn’t initially want to go, since Mrs. Xiao had spoken, he had no choice but to follow the eldest Miss outside. The little girl, Xiao Manxuan, tagged along and even whistled strangely, summoning the Tibetan Mastiff to run over from a distance.
Little Hua recognized Lin Tian and, after giving him a glance, stayed close to Xiao Manxuan.
"Second Miss, why are you bringing Little Hua along? What if it scares Yun Xiaotian? He’s still just a little kid," Lin Tian said quizzically.
"Hmph, I intend to scare him. If he dares to mess with my sister, I’ll let Little Hua bite him," Xiao Manxuan retorted with a huff.
The audacity to let a Tibetan Mastiff bite the Young Master of the Yun Family was truly exceptional, making Lin Tian speechless. But it was entirely in line with the little girl’s personality; it was already good she didn’t let Little Zi bite him.
"Miss, something’s not right. Why are you heading to the backyard?" Lin Tian called out to the eldest Miss walking ahead, wondering if they intended to make the grand Young Master Yun use the back door.
"You’ll know when we get there," the eldest Miss replied without explaining further.
Following the eldest Miss, Lin Tian arrived at the backyard horse arena, or more accurately, a nearby concrete-paved area. The area was the size of several basketball courts, with a large circle drawn in the center and inside the circle, a capital "H".
Upon seeing the site, Lin Tian immediately understood what it was about. Anyone who’s watched movies knows that the big "H" indicates it’s a helipad.
As he thought this, sound of helicopter rotor blades spinning came from afar, and a helicopter was swiftly approaching.
Minutes later, the helicopter appeared above the ground and gradually descended.
The helicopter’s rotors created a whirlwind, ruffling Little Hua’s thick fur. Little Hua snorted a few times, clearly not liking the metallic monster that messed up its hair, glaring at it with some mischief.
The helicopter was blue and white, with an ancient-style "Yun" character painted on the body, clearly marking it as a helicopter from the Yun Family.
Damn, Yun Xiaotian, you said you’d keep a low profile; this is quite the low profile, Lin Tian thought wryly.
The cabin door opened, and an elder walked out first. Lin Tian recognized him as Mr. Wang, Yun Xiaotian’s bodyguard and a modest Ancient Martial arts expert.
Then Yun Xiaotian appeared, dressed in a set of loose casual clothes. His face remained as delicate as ever, with the wind blowing his sleek hair, making Lin Tian momentarily mistaken for a girl.
"Brother Lin, I arrived discreetly as you suggested. Are you satisfied?" Yun Xiaotian smiled as he approached the trio.
"This is my first time hearing that traveling by helicopter is a discreet method. If it’s not discreet, would you use a spaceship?" Lin Tian said helplessly.
"I found it odd too. The Yun family’s butler said Yun Xiaotian was traveling by helicopter, turns out it was your idea, Lin Tian," the eldest Miss remarked curiously.
"Miss, the helicopter was my idea because Brother Lin prefers his movements to remain unnoticed. So, I thought landing directly at the Xiao Family was the best option," Yun Xiaotian quickly explained.
Lin Tian, knowing flying around ensures more covert movements, wished he had a plane himself. He didn’t expect Yun Xiaotian to think of it for him. Truly, wealth does as it pleases.
