Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1681 - 1678: Overlooked
Three days later, it’s Tuesday. After the last class, Lin Tian and a few others headed straight to the cafeteria. The match is at 7 PM, so it’s just right to recharge two hours before.
After dining, everyone went back to change clothes and agreed to meet at the intersection, then they headed towards the Martial Arts Hall. Even before reaching, Lin Tian heard a cacophony of noise.
Arriving at the entrance of the Martial Arts Hall, Lin Tian was slightly surprised by the crowd gathered in the square; it was overwhelming.
The Martial Arts Hall at Jinghua University is actually a sports complex, with Martial Arts on the second floor, above which are the badminton hall, gym, and other comprehensive training halls.
Among the crowd gathered at the entrance, besides the freshmen who heard about the event, there were many upperclassmen who were there to exercise, but seeing such a lively scene, they all abandoned exercising to join the excitement.
Some had seen the news on the forum and came here by reputation, in short, a lot of students gathered at the entrance.
Lin Tian immediately spotted the Martial Arts Club members wearing bright yellow uniforms, hundreds of them with unified attire, looking spirited and quite impressive.
On the other side of the Martial Arts Club were Karate Club members in white uniforms, all holding their heads high with pride. They indeed had reasons for their arrogance; the Karate Club was the most powerful among all martial arts-related clubs.
Before, the Taekwondo Club could compete with the Karate Club, but then it was suddenly merged, leaving nobody to challenge the Karate Club; thus, they had reason to be prideful.
"Lin Tian, over here..." In front of the Martial Arts Club, a lovely figure waved from afar, shouting at Lin Tian, her voice attracting frequent attention from the boys.
Lin Tian felt helpless inside; since Xiao Manxuan’s guqin performance, she became famous across the campus, coupled with her striking beauty, few men weren’t enchanted by her.
Approaching her, Lin Tian found another girl standing behind, also a familiar face, Senior Sister Yang Lin, the vice president of the student council. But what is the vice president doing here, could she also be here for the spectacle?
"Junior Lin Tian, Senior Sister is sad, you noticed me only after a while, your eyes only had Xuanxuan." Yang Lin stepped forward, standing alongside Xiao Manxuan, looking at Lin Tian with a smile, teasing him blatantly.
He Xiaofei and the others glanced at Lin Tian with odd expressions, pondering how impressive he was, attracting girls from the student council, let alone the vice president.
Lin Tian wore a bitter smile; ordinarily thick-skinned, yet every time in front of these senior sisters, it’s simply inadequate as he’s always teased by them.
"Xuanxuan, did you bring Senior Sister Yang Lin to watch the excitement?" Lin Tian pretended not to hear, asking earnestly.
"No, Senior Sister is the event organizer, she’s here to manage it." Xiao Manxuan replied curiously.
Event? Lin Tian was momentarily stunned; is there any other event besides the martial arts competition? He couldn’t help but look at Yang Lin.
Yang Lin laughed elatedly, "Are you genuinely clueless or just pretending, such a significant event between two major clubs, shouldn’t I organize it? With such a high-profile event, isn’t it wasteful not to seek sponsorship?"
Lin Tian was momentarily stunned, then looked up; indeed, he saw a banner on the floor above, announcing the competition between the two major clubs, along with a company’s name.
"Impressive, who would have thought of it; no wonder she’s the vice president." Lin Tian raised his thumb, not expecting to pull sponsorships; however, Yang Lin was right, this martial arts competition indeed kicks up a storm on campus.
"Do you think being the organizer is fun, the entire student council’s funding has to be considered by me, but half of the sponsored funds this time will go to the winning club, so if the Martial Arts Club wants the money, you guys better work hard." Yang Lin provided not an entirely bad piece of news.
Of course, if the Karate Club wins, they wouldn’t only merge with the Martial Arts Club but also gain half of the sponsored funds, which motivated the Karate Club members even more.
Lin Tian chuckled secretly, wondering if Senior Sister Yang Lin inadvertently upped the ante for the competition.
While they were chatting, there was a commotion outside, a few individuals approached, led by Ju Yuuzen in a white uniform, followed by Kunno Saburo, Jin Luxian, and a few others.
Ju Yuuzen saw Lin Tian’s group and came over, nodding slightly, "President Yang, this event must have been tough for you."
"No problem, the student council didn’t schedule a major event this week anyway, I’m just killing time." Yang Lin commented indifferently.
Ju Yuuzen nodded to Mu Binglan and then entered the Martial Arts Hall with his group, ignoring Lin Tian throughout the process.
Of course, on the school forum, the popular figures for this competition were Mu Binglan and Ju Yuuzen, nothing about Lin Tian; many came to watch the fight, eager to see their thrilling confrontation.
"Hehe, Lin Tian, you’ve been ignored." Xiao Manxuan glanced at Lin Tian, teasing with a smile as if she was happy to see Lin Tian not in the limelight.
"The less attention on me, the more leisurely I am." Lin Tian seemed unbothered.
"Let’s head inside too." Mu Binglan said calmly.
Lin Tian and his group also entered, ascended to the second floor, which is the martial arts training hall equipped with various equipment; however, it’s now cleared except for a central ring. Indeed, it’s a boxing ring, serving as the venue for the competition.
As the main parties in this competition, the Martial Arts Club and Karate Club had seats arranged at the front; the open space behind was gradually filled with people, making the initially spacious Martial Arts Hall crowded.
"I heard last time Ju Yuuzen and Mu Binglan faced off, Mu Binglan was slightly less than perfect, not sure how it will go this time." A neutral male student commented with curiosity, not expressing support for either side.
"Last time Ju Yuuzen attacked by surprise; if it’s a fair fight, Ju Yuuzen wouldn’t stand a chance against Mu Binglan." Another student stated confidently, clearly a fan of Mu Binglan, rooting for Mu Binglan.
"Anyway, I came to see them duel, we’ll soon find out who’s more formidable."
"That’s right, a new Martial Arts Club coach and a new Karate Club president, seems our school’s martial arts world is going to be dominated by the freshmen." A student, probably watched too much TV dramas, remarked earnestly with a touch of poetic flair.
"Do you think Lin Tian will be noteworthy, he’s quite a figure too." Another student presented a divergent perspective.
"Last time he surely impressed everyone, was amazing, but after all, that was running, this is martial arts, two different realms."
"True, being excellent at running and extraordinary in martial arts, he’d become quite the all-rounder." That student thought it over, finding it hard to believe, wondering if anyone could excel in everything.
