Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1637 - 1634: Ghostly
"Come on, if you’ve got what it takes, overtake us!" The two women raised their middle fingers defiantly and shouted arrogantly, laughing out loud afterward.
"Lin Tian, don’t be impulsive. Racing out of anger can lead to accidents." Qiao Xiaoyi feared Lin Tian might get provoked and quickly advised him. Nine people in two cars; if an accident occurred, it wouldn’t just be a minor situation. It wasn’t the first time he’s seen such news.
He Xiaofei also advised, "Lin Tian, Xiaoyi is right. You can argue all you want on the ground, but racing out of anger at high speeds can be fatal. There were two street racing accidents on Tianxi Road in Jinghua City before the New Year, two dead and two injured."
Lin Tian raised an eyebrow, not showing any sign of anger, and smiled lightly, "I know the Tianxi Road you’re talking about, one of the most famous street racing spots in Jinghua City. Each night, underground racers gather there. However, there were too many accidents, so it’s under heavy police scrutiny."
"Now, every hundred meters there’s a speed bump on Tianxi Road, which is deadly for sports cars; they struggle to hit even sixty kilometers per hour. After Tianxi Road was shut down, it’s rare to see racers there again. Those who truly know how to handle cars have returned to the official tracks."
"Actually, those who race on the streets are cowards because they’re afraid to go on the track—not because they’re afraid of death—but because they can’t play on the track. The track is more complex and professional; it requires more advanced skills and overcoming more fears."
"The real experts are on the track; those showing off racing on the streets are amateurs."
Lin Tian spoke eloquently, and his unique views and insights intrigued He Xiaofei and the others, filling them with curiosity and admiration.
"Brother Lin, you know so much. Did you used to race cars and then quit the Jianghu?" Qiao Xiaoyi asked with great curiosity.
"What racing? I’m just driving." Lin Tian shook his head and laughed, while Xiao Manxuan also held back her laughter because Lin Tian drives her around every day.
"But, it’s always dangerous for us to be pushed around." He Xiaofei looked at the Ferrari ahead, which was still very close.
Lin Tian gently tapped the brakes, slowing down and widening the distance from the Ferrari. However, Zhao Weitao, driving the Ferrari, wasn’t easy to deal with; he also braked, even more sharply than Lin Tian, closing the gap again.
Lin Tian switched lanes quickly, the Ferrari decelerating again, running parallel to Lin Tian’s car.
Xiao Na and Xiao Ya, the two women, unabashedly made various disdainful gestures. Zhao Weitao slightly tilted his head, smiled smugly, and said, "Weren’t you so tough on the track? Why are you backing down now, haha..."
Saying this, he swerved the steering wheel, suddenly accelerated, and once again cut in front of Lin Tian’s car. The two celebrity offspring in the back seat of the Ferrari cheered again.
"Beep..." Lin Tian’s car dashboard suddenly emitted a long alarm, and then the screen automatically lit up.
"Warning, multiple instances of dangerous driving detected ahead..." The alarm repeated three times, leaving Qiao Xiaoyi, He Xiaofei, and Mu Binglan slightly stunned, as they did not expect the car to automatically emit a sound.
"Little Ya, don’t be a drama queen." Lin Tian suddenly said, calming the AI down.
Qiao Xiaoyi glanced around the car, not finding anyone named Little Ya and curiously asked, "Brother Lin, who are you talking to?"
"Mr. Qiao, hello, my name is Little Ya, the car’s AI, Mr. Lin’s onboard secretary." A pleasant female voice sounded, answering Qiao Xiaoyi’s question and introducing herself, clearly the car’s AI.
Besides Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan, the other three were stunned again. One moment it seemed like just an ordinary car, and the next, it transformed into a futuristic intelligent car, leaving them feeling as if they had time-traveled.
But they saw the Ferrari still ahead, clearly they hadn’t time-traveled; the AI was indeed present before them.
"Lin Tian, didn’t you pre-record it?" He Xiaofei, who had seen much, still found it hard to believe the AI before her.
"Beautiful Ms. He Xiaofei, Mr. Lin and Little Ya wouldn’t do something so dull." Before Lin Tian could explain, Little Ya elegantly answered.
"This... this really isn’t a recording." He Xiaofei was shocked; a recording couldn’t answer spontaneous questions.
"How do you know us?" Qiao Xiaoyi asked curiously.
"I have been listening to your conversation since you entered the car," Little Ya answered truthfully.
"It’s amazing, this car is actually a smart car. Since it’s already manufactured, why isn’t it on the market?" He Xiaofei exclaimed.
Lin Tian casually replied, "Not sure, maybe it’s because of cost issues."
The three exchanged glances; even if they were slow to react, they could tell now that Lin Tian wasn’t simple. The AI alone might be worth as much as several Ferraris.
"Wow, coward, won’t move now..." The two celebrity offspring shouted loudly, their voices echoing inside the car.
"Mr. Lin, I suggest overtaking them; continuing to let them provoke could be dangerous. Shall I take over the driving?" Little Ya asked seriously.
"What, don’t you trust my driving skills?" Lin Tian said, amused inside, wondering why he was debating with an AI.
"I haven’t collected the data, so I can’t determine the result." Little Ya replied straightforwardly, lacking human tact, without giving any face.
This humanized conversation left He Xiaofei and the others dumbfounded.
"Hold tight," Lin Tian didn’t explain to Little Ya anymore, but directly instructed the three ladies in the back seat.
Xiao Manxuan knew Lin Tian best, so she was the first to fasten her seatbelt, grabbing the seat with her hand. He Xiaofei and Mu Binglan were influenced by her serious expression and hurriedly buckled their seatbelts.
As soon as the ladies were secured, Lin Tian suddenly swerved the steering wheel, quickly changing lanes and then stepped on the accelerator. The car engine didn’t roar, but everyone inside felt like their backs were suddenly propelled.
The car seemed to ignite a rocket booster, the speed skyrocketing, overtaking several car lengths of the Ferrari in just a blink. Swiftly maneuvering, overtaking, the process was silent and ghost-like, and by the time everyone realized, Lin Tian had successfully overtaken.
Zhao Weitao and his group were still smug, especially Xiao Na and Xiao Ya, their hands still making disdainful gestures in mid-air when suddenly the car behind was gone.
"Zhao, Brother Zhao, they overtook us!" Xiao Na exclaimed.
"Damn, did I just see a ghost? How did they overtake us; suddenly they’re ahead." Liu Yuansi, too, was in shock.
The convertible sports car should have the best visibility, able to see everything around clearly, but not a single person noticed how Lin Tian’s car overtook, their expressions were like seeing a ghost in broad daylight.
"Our speed wasn’t fast, they must’ve overtaken when we weren’t paying attention! Brother Zhao, catch up, let them see what real speed and passion are." The two women shouted excitedly.
