Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1489 - 1486: Earth-Shattering
Outside the Nine-story Pagoda, white mist quietly lingered in the valleys and ravines. Suddenly, as if summoned by some force, the mist was drawn towards the pagoda with the airflow.
A mass of fog enveloped the Nine-story Pagoda, and from a distance in the wilderness, one could only see a vast expanse of mist, with the pagoda’s body already hidden within.
It seemed that Wang Wanxi had begun her breakthrough to the Innate Realm, absorbing nature’s spiritual energy at an increasing pace, stirring the surrounding airflow into a whirlwind.
At this moment, Wang Wanxi had already closed her eyes, but Lin Tian knew her gaze was no longer vacant. As the unusual phenomena around her grew more evident, her once motionless hands suddenly lifted, swiftly forming seals in front of her chest, culminating in a strange hand seal.
Following the formation of this hand seal, the entire space suddenly trembled, the air and the pagoda quivered as well, and a formidable momentum burst forth from Wang Wanxi’s body, climbing rapidly, higher and higher, until it became a ferocious wave.
When this momentum peaked, a stream of visible air surged from the top of her head, like a semi-transparent column of smoke, rolling upwards, piercing through the top of the Glazed Tower, then shooting through the glazed tiles to a higher sky.
The surrounding mist was blasted away by this majestic surge, revealing the pagoda’s body once more. In the higher sky, wisps of white clouds floated and were scattered by the sudden ascent of this stream into the Nine Heavens, making the world clear and bright. The moon and stars became even more vivid, twinkling as if melding with the stream.
At the moment this surge appeared, in Qinglan Garden, several members of the Situ family were gathered drinking tea, discussing something. Situ Ming and Situ Yufeng suddenly stood up, face drawn by the energy, looking towards the direction of the mountain behind Tang City, spilling the tea on the table unnoticed.
Situ Ruoling looked puzzled, very curious: "Uncle Ming, brother, what’s going on? Why the big reaction?"
Situ Ming and Situ Yufeng exchanged a glance, their faces filled with shock as they said, "Someone in Tang City is actually breaking through to Innate. Who could it be?"
"Whoever it is, the emergence of any Innate will break the balance of the Ancient Martial World, which is not good for our Situ Family," Situ Yufeng said gravely, furrowing his brow.
Situ Ming’s gaze flickered, as he intently declared, "That person is at a critical moment of advancement; I must go see..."
As he spoke, he didn’t even use the door but leapt straight out the window, followed closely by Situ Yufeng, leaving Situ Ruoling bewildered. After a few seconds, she finally reacted, shouting, "Wait for me," and also jumped out the window.
Elsewhere, several people from the Yuwen Family were present, along with Li Wenfeng. A middle-aged man of the Yuwen Family stood up, also shocked: "Someone is advancing to Innate tonight, hurry; observing someone’s breakthrough is a rare opportunity, beneficial for your practice."
The people from the Yuwen Family also left the room, heading towards the mountain behind Tang City.
Behind Tang City, past the iron chains in the gorge, inside Qingshuang Pavilion, on a wooden building, a woman wearing loose plain clothes was sitting meditating on a cushion. On the wall behind her was a large ink painting, depicting a continuous stretch of snowy mountains. On a ridge close to her, a small black figure seemed to be climbing the snowy mountain. On one side of the ink painting, three characters written in calligraphy read: "Kunlun Travel."
The room was extraordinarily quiet, seemingly devoid even of breathing sounds. Suddenly, the woman opened her eyes, and in that instant, brightness seemed to flash through the silent room, like the glint of blades.
The woman glanced outside the window but said nothing, her expression unchanged. She then closed her eyes again and re-entered meditation. After she closed her eyes, the room seemed to darken, plunging into deeper silence.
For some Ancient Martial Artists, tonight was destined to be a sleepless night. Wang Wanxi’s advancement stirred hidden currents in Tang City. If one looked down on Tang City from a great height, they would find figures moving in different directions, all aiming for the Qingshuang Pavilion Ruins.
Inside the pagoda, Wang Wanxi’s hair fluttered without wind, flying behind her, and the surge of energy above her head was unending, growing stronger and stronger.
"Lin Tian, get ready, Ziqing and I will transition true energy for Wanxi. You apply acupuncture from the side. Remember, during the breakthrough, none of us can move. Advancing to Innate, no mistakes can be made," Ling Zishan said solemnly.
After speaking, she and Tang Ziqing moved to sit behind Wang Wanxi, cross-legged, extending their palms to press against her back. They channelled true energy, which passed along their arms into Wang Wanxi’s body.
With the support of two Innate Experts’ true energy, Wang Wanxi’s body shook, and the energy above her head intensified, surging to the sky, intermingling with the moon and stars.
Lin Tian also sat cross-legged next to Wang Wanxi. He snapped a gold thread, which wriggled like a spiritual snake, precisely piercing an acupoint in her chest.
The four of them were now completely still, with Zhenqi being transferred, Lin Tian then held one end of the gold thread with one hand, gently plucking and trembling it with the other.
Twenty minutes passed, footsteps suddenly sounded outside the tower, drawing closer and closer. With a whoosh, several shadows leapt in through the window, freezing in surprise upon seeing the scene inside the tower.
Lin Tian glanced over, realizing the newcomers were the Situs. He suddenly had a bad feeling, hoping this family wouldn’t stir up trouble.
Just as the Situ family entered, more shadows flitted through the window. The newcomers were from the Yuwen Family.
Seeing that the Situ family had already arrived to observe, the Yuwen Family members were not surprised. They naturally knew that if they could sense the fluctuations of this energy surge, others could as well.
However, one person did not look pleased—Li Wenfeng. The Li Family and the Yun Family always had some discord, and now that it was the Yun Family’s Wang Wanxi advancing, he was far from happy.
Li Wenfeng glanced at Situ Ming and others, noticing that the Situ family members didn’t look pleased either. As both families arrived, more silhouettes appeared, individual Ancient Martial Artists also emerged.
The once spacious tower top suddenly felt cramped with all these arrivals, though everyone’s thoughts differed.
Yet no one moved; all eyes were fixed intently on Wang Wanxi at the center of the tower top. At this very moment, the main character of the entire event was at the most critical point of her advancement.
Wang Wanxi’s hands suddenly shifted to form seals, and when they settled, the surrounding space trembled again. The energy surge above her head expanded dramatically, sending a wave of energy straight to the top of the Glazed Tower.
With a "crack," the glazed tiles above Wang Wanxi’s head couldn’t withstand the pressure, and cracks began to appear, spreading wider.
With a "boom," the glazed tile top could no longer bear the strain and exploded in the center, with shattered glazed tiles falling down.
