Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1435 - 1432: Returning to the Ruins
Ten minutes later, Tang Banqing got a definite answer from Lin Tian, feeling content, and left. After she left, Ghost and Yun Xiaotian stared at each other, clearly unable to understand the situation with the sudden appearance of the old lady.
"Brother Tian, what exactly is going on? First, she was a thief, then chatting and laughing, what’s the identity of this old woman?" Ghost asked, puzzled.
"Who knows, she said she’s a blacksmith, someone who forges iron, maybe she is." Lin Tian said indifferently.
"A blacksmith? Could she be a swordsmith?" Yun Xiaotian suddenly chimed in, causing Lin Tian and Ghost to look at him in unison. Yun Xiaotian shrugged and said, "Don’t look at me, I don’t know either, I just happened to hear my mom mention the profession of swordsmithing."
"Are there female swordsmiths?" Ghost shook his head in disbelief, "In ancient times, people believed that swordsmithing and pottery, which involved fire, were places of supreme Yang, and women, being Yin, should not go near fire."
"Nonsense!" Lin Tian snorted, disdainfully said, "That’s the ignorance of ancient people. When they couldn’t forge properly, they blamed women. You’ve heard of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye, right? They were a married couple and famous swordsmiths, disciples of Ou Yezi. Mo Ye was a woman, yet she became an excellent swordsmith, didn’t she?"
"Brother Tian makes a lot of sense. So, this Tang Banqing is a swordsmith then?" Ghost asked.
"I don’t know either. If you want to find out, just go and see tomorrow." Lin Tian said carelessly.
Ghost blinked and said, "Okay, I’m going back now."
Once Ghost left, only Lin Tian and Yun Xiaotian remained in the room. Lin Tian turned to Yun Xiaotian and said, "Stop overthinking, let’s sleep."
"Us... we? Brother Lin, you sleep... sleep in the hall." Yun Xiaotian pointed to the chaise lounge, hesitantly said.
Lin Tian glared at him and said, "Why are you nervous? Although you’re pretty and delicate, I don’t have a habit of dropping soap. Your Brother Lin likes women; do you even know what a woman is, you little kid?"
Yun Xiaotian shook his head and quickly ran behind the screen, while Lin Tian also shook his head and went to sleep on the chaise lounge.
The chaise lounge was too short, and when Lin Tian lay down, his feet dangled off the edge. If he weren’t so adaptable, he probably wouldn’t have been able to sleep tonight.
Soon after he lay down, he heard the sound of a rooster crowing. Hearing a rooster in the city was rare, so he wondered if Qinglan Garden deliberately raised them.
Lin Tian opened his eyes and found the room already lit, with sunlight streaming through the window cracks, dispelling the darkness inside.
Stretching lazily, Lin Tian got out of bed swiftly. There was no sound from behind the screen yet, and Lin Tian could still hear even breathing. Yun Xiaotian was likely still tired from staying up late last night.
He opened the window and practiced for a while in the sunlight when a hurried knocking came from outside. Just then, Yun Xiaotian also emerged from behind the screen, probably woken up by the knocking.
With such urgent knocking, there’s no need to guess; it must be Tang Banqing. Seeing her eagerness last night, she was already impatient. Lin Tian went to open the door, and indeed, there was Tang Banqing. At this moment, Ghost also came out of the next room.
"Lin Tian, hurry up and eat. After eating, come with me." Tang Banqing, not knowing politeness, walked straight in and put the basket on the table, but her eyes were on Lin Tian’s safe.
This old lady was too anxious, Lin Tian thought, but he didn’t say it out loud. Instead, he and Ghost devoured the food.
After the three of them finished breakfast, it was just past eight o’clock, for those who like to sleep in, they should still be in bed. But Tang Banqing obviously didn’t want Lin Tian and the others to sleep in.
"Let’s go, come with me, bring the safe." Tang Banqing urged excitedly.
"Over by my mom...?" Yun Xiaotian wanted to at least say goodbye before leaving. After all, they came together; they couldn’t just disappear halfway.
But who knew, Tang Banqing waved her hand and said, "No need to ask, I’ve already asked for you. Wang Wanxi has to handle some auction matters and told you to arrange on your own."
Since it was already asked, Lin Tian and the others had no choice but to follow the old lady. They went downstairs, out of the courtyard, and walked towards the gate, although Lin Tian didn’t know where she was taking them.
Just as they walked out the gate, Lin Tian saw a car approaching and stopping outside Qinglan Garden. It was a luxury car, a black Bentley, stable, elegant, and noble; it was clearly not an ordinary family’s car.
The car door opened, and four people got out, one of whom was an elderly man over fifty. His hair was gray but combed meticulously, surprisingly with few wrinkles on his face, indicating he took good care of himself.
Following the elderly man were three young men who showed great respect to him. However, when their eyes swept over the surroundings, they displayed a bit of arrogance.
The three young men also noticed Lin Tian and the others, but quickly shifted their gaze, not paying them any attention. As a staff member from Qinglan Garden appeared to guide them in.
Lin Tian curiously asked Tang Banqing in front, "Old Tang, who are those people? They seem significant."
"They’re from Ancient Martial families, old folks bringing young juniors out to see the world." Tang Banqing said without looking back, carelessly.
"Which family is it?" Lin Tian asked.
"I don’t know, didn’t pay attention." Tang Banqing said irresponsibly, obviously having been only focused on walking and not noticing anyone visiting Qinglan Garden.
"Old Tang, where exactly are we going? And how are we getting there?" Yun Xiaotian couldn’t help but ask.
Tang Banqing slightly turned back with a smile, "Of course, in the car you came in. I’m just a janitor; how could I call for a car?"
You’re a janitor? Nobody would believe that. But Lin Tian didn’t question further and signaled Ghost to go start the car.
This was Yun Xiaotian’s ride, a "pure-blood" domestic car, plain in appearance. In comparison to the nearby black Bentley, it looked incredibly shabby.
Tang Banqing, however, was not shy and immediately got into the car. Ghost was the one driving. He glanced at the rear-view mirror at the old lady and asked, "Old Tang, where are we going?"
"To the Qingshuang Pavilion Ruins." Tang Banqing replied straightforwardly.
The three were slightly startled, having just left the ruins, now returning there. What was Tang Banqing’s plan? This was the question on all three of their minds.
Having traveled the path once the previous night, Ghost drove with familiarity. Being a mercenary by trade, he remembered the route after just one drive.
They passed through Tang City, up the mountain, and reached the gate of the Qingshuang Pavilion Ruins. Tang Banqing signaled Lin Tian to bring the safe with him, then got out of the car and walked towards the entrance.
Lin Tian and the others followed her through buildings and halls until they stopped at the Nine-story Pagoda.
