Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1401 - 1398: Crescent Blade and the Power of Fire
"Xiao Tian, let’s do this, we’ll set off tomorrow. Go back and pack a little." Wang Wanxi quickly made her decision.
Lin Tian knew she was decisive, but didn’t expect her to be so straightforward. He nodded and said, "Alright, tomorrow it is. I don’t have much, just a suitcase. How are we getting there?" He meant what mode of transportation.
"I heard you won a car from Mo Mingda last time, just drive that." Wang Wanxi said half-jokingly.
If she hadn’t mentioned it, Lin Tian almost forgot. The Ferrari he won from a bet last time was still sitting in the Yun Family’s garage: "Alright then, it’s been sitting there for too long and might get rusty, it should be taken for a spin."
"Oh, by the way, Aunt Wang, I came to find you so late, won’t Uncle Yun mind?" Finally, Lin Tian added this line.
"You young rascal, daring to joke with your Aunt Wang?" Wang Wanxi gave Lin Tian a glance, but it didn’t have much effect on him. She smiled helplessly and said, "Don’t worry about that. He never questions what I do, besides, Haoyu isn’t home. After dinner, he’s already gone to the lab."
"Hehe..." Lin Tian chuckled twice and said, "Given Uncle Yun’s status, it’s surprising he’s still such a workaholic. I really admire him."
"Admire what? He never knows how to take care of his body. You men, is there nothing else to do besides work?" Wang Wanxi scolded playfully.
Lin Tian just chuckled again, not wanting to comment further, and then bowed slightly to end the conversation: "Aunt Wang, I’ll head back first then, see you tomorrow."
Wang Wanxi nodded, watching Lin Tian’s figure gradually disappear into the night. The night breeze on the mountaintop gently lifted the hem of her white dress, making her look like a fairy about to take flight, as a faint whisper echoed: "The Hua Ying Sword has appeared, quite unexpected. I forgot to ask Xiao Tian how he obtained the Hua Ying Sword."
When Lin Tian descended the mountain and returned to the Yunxiang Inn, he found An Xiaoru already asleep on the sofa. He gently picked her up and carried her to her bedroom. As they reached the doorway, An Xiaoru opened her eyes.
Realizing she was being carried by Lin Tian, An Xiaoru’s face instantly turned beet red: "Mr. Lin..."
"Don’t speak, you’ve been busy all day, it’s time to sleep." Lin Tian interrupted softly.
An Xiaoru, realizing she was now in her bedroom, couldn’t help but think of something, her heart racing as if it would leap out of her throat. Her ample chest heaved, as if deep breaths were the only way to supply enough oxygen to her dizzy head.
But Lin Tian merely laid her on the bed, turned around, and left. An Xiaoru couldn’t help but call out: "Mr. Lin..."
"Sleep now, I’m leaving tomorrow, and you still have to make me breakfast." Lin Tian interrupted again, speaking gently, then walked out of the room without looking back, closing the door behind him.
"So embarrassing, what was I thinking..." The blush on An Xiaoru’s face spread to her pale neck. She couldn’t help but cover her face and buried her head into the pillow.
After a long time, she finally got up, looking at the closed door, softly whispered: "Leaving tomorrow..." Her face was filled with indescribable loneliness.
Lin Tian went upstairs, back into the familiar room where he had resided for almost a week during his closed-door alchemy. Before sleep, he took out the Crescent Blade for his routine daily refinement.
The current Crescent Blade had transformed, no longer the original moon-white, but a faint blood-red, like a crescent moon of blood. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Hmm, why didn’t I think of that..." Suddenly a voice echoed in Lin Tian’s mind. Only the loquacious Sword Spirit kept chattering, always claiming to be asleep but often chiming in unexpectedly.
Lin Tian released a drop of blood, letting it drip onto the three Crescent Blades. After they absorbed the blood, he nonchalantly said, "Thought of what? Speak."
"These three strange blades of yours are really peculiar. I don’t know what material they’re made from, but they can be used as the main material for a weapon. With transformation stones, forging a blade that can change form should be no problem," the Sword Spirit said expectantly, ignoring Lin Tian’s impatience.
Upon hearing this, Lin Tian raised an eyebrow slightly, "You want to merge the Crescent Blade and transformation stones? That’s a good idea, but the Crescent Blade material is too small. I don’t want to forge a dagger."
It’s not that Lin Tian thought daggers weren’t powerful; the Soul-devouring Blade was quite formidable. But he didn’t like the shape of daggers for his weapons because he preferred a power-based style, which was why Lin Tian seldom used the Crescent Blade in past battles.
"Hmm, it does seem a bit small. Someone as rough as you indeed doesn’t suit using dagger-type weapons." The Sword Spirit remarked earnestly, not knowing whether it was praising Lin Tian or teasing him.
Lin Tian was indifferent: "Even if I’m willing to merge the Crescent Blade with transformation stones, it’s not necessarily possible to melt them."
"Just give it a try and you’ll find out." The Sword Spirit prompted.
Lin Tian was noncommittal, but his eyes flashed, and a ball of purple flame appeared in his right palm. He picked up one of the Crescent Blades and extended it into the purple flame.
Though outwardly indifferent, Lin Tian was actually conflicted. Part of him hoped the Purple Flame could melt the Crescent Blade, which would make it a viable material for weapon forging. However, if it melted, it would also mean the Crescent Blade wasn’t that extraordinary—an inherent contradiction.
Turning over this thought, the Purple Flame began burning the Crescent Blade. At first, the blade showed no reaction, and Lin Tian remained patient.
As the Purple Flame’s heat increased, the Crescent Blade emanated a circle of moon-white light, the blood color within the blade seemed to come alive, beginning to flow.
Once the moon-white light appeared, regardless of the Purple Flame’s burning, the Crescent Blade remained in this strange state, with no new changes.
"It’s truly not working." Lin Tian said as he withdrew the Purple Flame, unsure whether to feel glad or disappointed.
"You really have a lot of treasures in your hands." The Sword Spirit commented with a sigh. If the Purple Fire couldn’t destroy something, what else could it be but a treasure?
After withdrawing the Purple Flame, the Crescent Blade returned to its original state. Lin Tian examined it closely, finding no abnormalities, and said, "The Crescent Blade not melting indicates two things: one, its material is incredibly hardy; two, my Purple Flame’s level is still insufficient, far from the ’Purple Flame covering a thousand miles’ power. The current Purple Flame is barely more than an ember."
"This is something I can’t help you with." The Sword Spirit said irresponsibly.
"Don’t think too much. When the opportunity arises, things will naturally fall into place." Lin Tian took it in stride. The idea of forging a weapon was just a whim, after all. On the contrary, he was more eager for the Purple Flame’s strength to enhance. If it were the female zombie’s Purple Flame, the Crescent Blade wouldn’t last a second.
