Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 559: Slap
The guards nearby, however, could not help but hesitate. They exchanged uncertain glances before one of them stepped forward and looked toward Ivy.
"Miss Ivy... who exactly is he?"
Before Ivy could even open her mouth, Damien answered proudly, puffing out his chest once again.
"I already told you. I’m Ivy’s brother."
But the very next second, Ivy’s voice cut through the air like a blade. "He’s just a guest."
The guards froze. Damien froze too.
For a brief moment, the world seemed to fall silent.
Damien’s face twisted with anger as he pointed a trembling finger at Ivy. "You!"
However, the words died in his throat the moment he met Ivy’s eyes. Her gaze was cold.
Cold enough to make the back of his neck prickle with unease.
The anger on his face faltered instantly. The words he wanted to shout were swallowed back as he muttered under his breath in a much smaller voice.
"Ivy... you really need to learn how to show your brother some respect."
Ivy ignored him completely.
Without even sparing him another glance, she turned around and walked toward the entrance of the base. Damien hesitated for a second before quickly following behind her.
As soon as they stepped inside, Ivy’s entire demeanor shifted subtly.
Behind them, the guards who had witnessed the entire exchange began whispering among themselves.
"Guest? Doesn’t look like one. If Miss Ivy hadn’t stopped me, I would have beat the sh*t out of him!"
Another guard simply shook his head. "Alas... I can only hope that Miss Ivy will teach him a good lesson."
They quickly decided to drop the subject.
At that moment, the guard who had originally gone to inform Ivy finally arrived at the entrance. When he saw that the entire scene had already ended, he could only sigh deeply in regret.
’If only I had arrived earlier...’
He rubbed the back of his head helplessly. ’Then I would have seen what actually happened.’
Meanwhile, Ivy had already returned to her own apartment within the base. Damien followed closely behind her the entire way.
The moment the door closed with a soft click, Ivy’s lips curled slightly into a faint smirk.
Damien, completely unaware of the danger quietly surrounding him, walked into the room as if it belonged to him. He immediately collapsed onto the sofa and covered his face with both hands.
"I’m exhausted..."
His voice sounded dramatic and full of self-pity.
"I just want to meet Mother. Do you even know how terrifying everything has been?"
He shook his head repeatedly while complaining.
"Who would have thought that a superior being would betray me like that? It’s unbelievable! That bastard tricked me into giving consent!"
The more he talked, the more emotional he sounded.
Meanwhile, Ivy remained completely silent.
Damien continued rambling, lost entirely in his own world.
"I swear I’ll take revenge on that superior being sooner or later. When I see him again, I’ll teach him a proper lesson!"
Eventually, he noticed that Ivy had not responded at all.
He frowned and looked up at her.
"Why are you just standing there?"
His voice carried the same commanding tone as before.
"You should be smarter than this and follow my orders. Otherwise, you’ll end up getting beaten."
Hearing those words, Ivy suddenly chuckled softly.
Before Damien could react, she spoke calmly.
"Before anything else... I want to know about that entity."
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"Can you explain the superior being that took over your body?"
Damien’s eyes immediately narrowed.
"What are you talking about?"
However, halfway through his sentence, he suddenly stopped.
His gaze sharpened as he stared at Ivy.
"How do you know about that?"
Ivy chuckled again, the sound low and almost mocking. She slowly walked forward and sat down across the table from him.
Her eyes locked directly onto his.
"If you don’t tell the truth," she said quietly, "you’ll regret your decision in the very next second."
Damien looked at her arrogantly.
Because of the memories from his previous life, he never considered Ivy a threat.
’This little girl?’
He almost laughed internally.
Back then, he had tortured her for nearly two years. She had been nothing more than a helpless child who could only kneel and obey him.
Even if she had changed slightly in this life, how much could she possibly change?
However, something in the room caught his attention.
The base.
He frowned slightly.
’This wasn’t here in my previous life...’
Taking a slow breath, he looked back at Ivy and spoke coldly.
"You should keep your mouth shut and just follow my orders."
The next second... SMACK!
A sharp sound echoed through the room.
Damien’s head snapped to the side as a burning pain exploded across his cheek.
His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Ivy.
"Did... did you just slap me?!"
Ivy blinked innocently. "Do you feel pain on your cheek?"
Damien nearly shouted. "Of course I feel pain!"
Ivy smiled softly.
"Good. Now you’re finally speaking like a normal human being."
She leaned slightly forward. "If you feel pain on your cheek, then that means I definitely slapped you."
Her smile widened faintly. "And if you want, I can slap you again. This time I might even knock all your teeth out."
Her voice turned colder. "So before acting arrogantly, you should think carefully."
Damien gritted his teeth and glared at her.
"You’re crossing the line, Ivy."
But Ivy only tilted her head slightly.
"Oh? You want to see how far I can cross it?"
Before he could react, she suddenly grabbed a fistful of his hair. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
The next moment, Damien felt an unbearable pain tearing through his scalp as if each strand of hair was being ripped out one by one.
"Ah!"
He almost screamed. "Let go of me!"
His voice trembled with pain and rage. "If you don’t release me right now, I’ll kill you with my own hands! I’ll even make my mother kill you!"
Ivy’s expression did not change at all.
His threats meant nothing to her.
Instead, memories slowly resurfaced in her mind.
