Chapter 551: Chapter 551: Fake

"To prove that I do not intend to harm either you or her," it said calmly,

"I can tell you the location where your power can be awakened."

Silas stayed silent but listened.

"There is a cave located roughly five hundred kilometers to the northwest," the voice continued.

"The cave has a very small entrance, but once you enter, the inside opens into a much larger space."

The voice paused briefly before continuing.

"You must remain there for some time. During that period, you should consume large amounts of white mushrooms... along with the vegetables grown in Ivy’s base."

Silas frowned.

Then the voice added another condition.

"During that time, you must not think about Ivy or attempt to meet her. Even if she faces danger, you must not rush back."

Silas’ fists tightened even more.

A cold suspicion crept into his mind.

’Is this voice... the exact reason Ivy will be in danger?’

Almost as if it had heard his thoughts, the voice spoke again.

"I do not wish to harm either you or Ivy," it said calmly. "I only wish to ensure that you two will not be separated in this life."

With those words, the voice slowly faded.

However, its final warning lingered in the darkness.

"You should reconsider. Otherwise, one day you will regret everything. If you doubt my words, simply visit the location I mentioned. Once you arrive there... you will understand everything."

....................

When Silas opened his eyes again, morning light was already pouring into the room.

The brightness forced him to squint as he slowly adjusted to the blinding sunlight.

"So it was real..." he murmured quietly.

Someone was manipulating them. Someone had been entering their dreams.

Silas had always suspected something like this, but hearing that voice directly inside his dream only confirmed that something was terribly wrong.

’Something is definitely fishy,’ he thought.

He took a deep breath and looked down at Ivy, who was still sleeping beside him.

Yet the voice continued echoing faintly in his mind like a ghost.

"You will regret it..."

Silas closed his eyes briefly before exhaling slowly.

’At the very least... I should go check that place once.’

Otherwise, it would feel like a wasted opportunity.

Or perhaps... blind overconfidence.

With that thought, he leaned down and gently kissed Ivy’s forehead before standing up.

The moment Silas moved away, Ivy stirred slightly. She rolled over on the bed before slowly opening her eyes.

Seeing Silas getting ready, she blinked sleepily.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

Silas turned toward her, his expression calm.

"I’m going somewhere... a little secretive."

He paused.

Then he looked at her and asked, "Do you want to know where?"

Ivy immediately nodded.

Silas smiled faintly.

"In that case," he teased softly, "you’ll need to pay something first."

Hearing that, Ivy’s cheeks instantly flushed red.

Without arguing, she climbed out of the bed and stepped closer.

Then she leaned forward and pressed her lips gently against Silas.

It had already become their routine.

Silas didn’t shy away either. Instead, he wrapped an arm around her waist and deepened the kiss slightly.

Because somewhere in his heart, he knew...

’If I leave this time... I might have to stay in that cave for a long time.’

With that thought, he eventually told Ivy everything.

...................

Meanwhile, outside the base, Grace was seething with anger.

This was already the fifth time she had been rejected.

Five times.

Each time the excuse had been something different, her behavior, her conduct, or some other minor issue.

Grace’s frustration was rapidly reaching its limit.

However, she forced herself to remain patient.

Because she knew that only by continuing to follow Damien’s instructions could she maintain her power.

After all, recently she had awakened several additional abilities... not just the one she originally possessed.

With that thought in mind, Grace stayed in the line.

The queue stretched far across the ruined street, people standing shoulder to shoulder beneath the dull gray sky.

The slight snow falling away from the base seemed like a beautiful scenery.

Grace stood quietly, her arms folded as she waited.

This time, however, luck seemed to be on her side.

Right in front of her, a couple suddenly began arguing loudly. Their voices cut through the restless murmurs of the crowd.

The man looked furious, his face flushed red with anger and humiliation.

"You think you can just walk away like this?" he snapped, his voice trembling.

"Even if you want to be with someone else, you should remember something very clearly, we are still married!"

The woman standing before him rolled her eyes impatiently.

"Married?" she scoffed coldly. "Please. I never was married in the first place."

The words caused the man’s expression to stiffen.

"You... lied to me?" he whispered, disbelief creeping into his voice.

The woman crossed her arms, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

"I never wanted to be with you," she replied bluntly.

"I chose you because you were stable. You had a good job, money, security."

She glanced around at the broken buildings and ruined streets.

"But now?" she chuckled. "Now that the apocalypse has arrived, it’s obvious that you’re nothing more than a small fry."

Her gaze filled with disgust. "I can’t tolerate you anymore."

The husband’s fists trembled violently.

"How can you even talk like that?" he demanded hoarsely.

The woman simply shrugged. "So what?"

The man stared at her, a faint trace of fear appearing in his tired eyes.

"What about all the times you told me you loved me the most?" he asked quietly.

The woman chuckled again.

"I lied."

The man shook his head slowly, as if refusing to accept it.

"And all those little things you did for me? The food you cooked, the gifts, the notes?"

The woman’s smile widened, completely unashamed.

"All lies."

Her voice became even colder.

"Even the name I gave you was fake. The passport I showed you? Also fake."

She leaned slightly closer, her voice dripping with mockery.
