Zombie Apocalypse: Creation-Chapter 786: Shopping and Food
"I’ll try it out first."
Houqin accepted the dress before heading to the changing room to try out the clothes, leaving the worker to wait outside.
"Hey, sir, can you come over for a second?"
"What’s wrong?"
As Xiaoyun walked over to the back of the store, his eyes were instantly glued onto the various kinds of skimpy dresses on display.
"There’s no need to stand there over. Don’t you want to see what your girlfriend looks like in her new dress?"
"I guess..."
After four long minutes, the door finally opened—and there Houqin stood, breathtaking enough to make the wait feel like nothing.
Two small pieces of fabric crossed over her collarbone, strapping on either side of her shoulder, barely enough to cover her boobs.
Right in the middle was a long cleavage line that stopped halfway, making any men who were daring enough to peek inside.
Down below, her legs were completely exposed from her ankles all the way up to her thighs, as her white stocking was in her hand. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"D-Does this look good?"
Houqin’s question was met with silence as Xiaoyun’s eyes didn’t even blink once. It was almost as if he was too stunned to talk.
"Looks like your boyfriend really likes it."
The worker’s comment made Houqin’s face blush red as she struggled to keep her dress down to cover her panties fully.
"You look really beautiful in this... I’m really speechless." Xiaoyun complimented as he finally snapped back to reality.
"Thanks."
Just as Houqin was about to turn around and head back into the dressing room, Xiaoyun turned over to the store employee.
"How much does this cost? I’ll pay for it."
"Commander——I-I mean Xiaoyun, I thought we’re just trying the clothes out."
"Yeah, you tried it out, and I liked it. Do you guys take cards or do you only take cash?" Xiaoyun asked.
"We take both. Please wait, let me go get the card scanner."
With the worker headed over to the front desk, Houqin immediately turned around to question him.
"Xiaoyun, why are you suddenly buying the clothes now? Didn’t I tell you I can’t bring more clothes back home?"
"Who said you’re bringing it back to your apartment? I’m keeping it in your future bedroom at my house... Actually, why don’t you try this out as well?"
As Xiaoyun took another skimpy dress from the metal hanger, Houqin’s face blushed even redder as the belly was fully exposed.
"I-I can’t wear this—"
"Come on, trust me. Just try it out. We can decide later if we’re buying it... Don’t you want to look more beautiful?"
Houqin hesitated for a second, but she accepted it in the end as she headed back into the changing room.
"Sorry, looks like you’ll have to wait for a bit first," Xiaoyun murmured as the worker came back with the card scanner.
"That’s no problem."
---
Two hours later...
As the two of them walked out of the clothing store, they were both walking empty-handed as Houqin was back in her original white dress.
"Commander, give me the receipt. I can’t let you pay for all these clothes. It’s way too much money like this."
"You can pay me when you move into my house. Before then, they’re my property... Your parent won’t need to nag you for it."
Houqin’s face blushed a little, having no choice other than to accept it as he was the one who paid and signed the address to have it shipped.
"Whatever..."
As the two of them walked on the streets for a bit, Houqin’s stomach suddenly started rumbling.
"Oh my, it’s already one o’clock. We should eat something first... Houqin, do you want to eat anything in particular?"
"Not really."
"Hm..."
Looking around, they could see all kinds of restaurants and people going in and out of them.
"So many people... I guess it is a Sunday after all."
After walking around the corner, the two of them finally found a noodle place that had seats for two people.
"Welcome, here’s the menu."
A server quickly handed them a food menu that had multiple pages, listing all kinds of food beyond noodles.
"Thanks... Houqin, what do you want?"
"Um... I don’t know."
As she flipped the food menu page after page, all the different options were starting to make her indecisiveness worse.
"Do you want me to decide it for you then?" Xiaoyun suggested.
"Sure."
"Okay. Hey server!"
"You guys ready to order?" The server asked as he came back over to Xiaoyun’s table with a small clipboard.
"Yes. I’d like to have whatever two of whatever you and the chef think is the best. I want the best of the best."
"The best of the best? Then two signature beef noodle soup with fish skillet and fried chicken on the side... Is that fine, sir?"
Xiaoyun nodded his head as the worker quickly walked off with the order, leaving the two of them to wait at the table.
"I don’t think we needed to order two, Xiaoyun. These portions look a little big..." Houqin murmured as she thought back to the pictures.
"It’s fine. Whatever you can’t finish, I’ll eat it. Houqin, just remember, there’s no such thing as leftover food with me around."
After waiting for five minutes, the server finally came back with their food as he slowly lowered an entire tray onto their table.
"Here’s your food. Enjoy."
"Thanks... You are definitely right about it being a little big. Careful, it’s a little hot."
As the two of them waited for it to cool down, Xiaoyun suddenly decided to measure the bowl with his hand.
It was somehow longer and wider than his hands stretched out together, not to mention the seared fish skillet and four pieces of fried chicken.
"It smells so good."
Houqin commented, her hand impatiently holding a pair of chopsticks as she stared towards the steaming hot beef noodle soup.
"Time to try it out."
Taking a bite of the beef first, the savory flavor immediately exploded as the soup’s juiciness filled Xiaoyun’s mouth.
"Mhm, this beef is a lot different than canned meat." Xiaoyun immediately pointed out as he took another bite.
"Wait, isn’t real beef super expensive? How could it not be canned beef?"
"I’m not the chef. I wouldn’t know... But it sure is good."
As Houqin watches Xiaoyun beginning to slurp up the noodles, she finally couldn’t wait any longer.
With a small piece of beef picked up from the bowl, she blew a bit of cold air before putting it into her mouth.
"Mhm... It’s so good!"
"Shh, don’t be so loud."
Xiaoyun’s warning immediately made Houqin zip her mouth, as the two of them could feel the stares from all the other customers in the store.
"Time to try out the fish next."
As he moved the bowl aside to put the small fish on the stone plate in front, Xiaoyun could feel a quiet, sizzling sound.
"A little disappointing, but not bad."
Xiaoyun commented that after tasting a bit of the fish. It felt a little bland compared to everything else so far.
"Can’t have the best in everything."
---
After the short lunch, the two walked aimlessly in the open street as Houqin was way too full to do anything else.
"Xiaoyun, how do you fit that much food into your stomach?"
Houqin questioned, as she only managed to eat half of her portion before he finished both his and her leftovers.
"I just got a big belly... But those servers are scamming us. They really made it extra large to charge us more?"
Seeing Xiaoyun still fixated on the cost of the food, Houqin rolled her eyes as she didn’t feel it was overpriced at all.
"You’re the one who asked the server to give you the best of the best."
"The best of the best didn’t ask for extra large. He could have given us the same food, but in a smaller portion."
"Too bad now. All the food is in your stomach. Maybe if you spit them out, they’ll feel some pity to give you half off."
"Mhm... Anyway, what are we doing now?"
As the two of them reached the end of the shopping mall side of the street, Houqin suddenly turned around before staring into his eyes.
"Aren’t you the one who proposed the date? How could you forget what we’re doing next?"
"That was a rhetorical question. Relax. I know what we’re doing... But are you still too full to do anything?"
"I... I think I’m better now."
Houqin murmured as she rubbed her belly with her hand, which had formed a little bulge from how much she had eaten in a single day.
"Great. Then let’s go watch the movie."
As Xiaoyun turned around and began heading back towards the shopping mall by himself, Houqin suddenly felt something was off.
"Why are you still standing there?" Xiaoyun curiously asked, noticing her still standing at the end of the street.
"Nothing."
