TL: Etude

The Forbidden Palace Master led over a hundred Dao Ancestors in a direct assault on Dao Mountain. This time, the Forbidden Palace had nearly emptied its ranks, clearly determined to achieve victory at any cost.

Central Chaos Region, Dao Mountain Domain

In this area stood an immense Dao Realm, the first and largest Dao Realm of the Dao Mountain Domain, with countless universes surrounding it like stars dotting the chaotic void.

These universes, especially the larger ones, were subordinate to Dao Mountain, supplying it with countless talented individuals over the ages. Over the long years, many transcendents had broken free from their universes to join Dao Mountain.

Because of this, Dao Mountain never needed to recruit talents from other regions of Chaos. However, if an exceptionally rare genius emerged, Dao Mountain would still welcome them.

Of course, these subordinate universes hadn’t come into being naturally; rather, Dao Mountain had shifted them from various parts of the Dao Mountain Domain. After this feat, Dao Mountain forbade other forces from relocating universes at will, claiming it would disrupt the rules governing the entire Dao Mountain Domain.

This restriction angered many forces, yet none dared to provoke Dao Mountain directly.

At this moment,

From the far edge of the Dao Mountain Domain, the Dao Ancestors of the Forbidden Palace arrived, gazing coldly at the vast Dao Mountain Domain and its many universes. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

The Forbidden Palace wasn’t known for mercy, and neither was its Palace Master.

“Attack these universes and force the Dao Ancestors of Dao Mountain out!” the Palace Master ordered.

“Yes!” replied the Dao Ancestors of the Forbidden Palace.

One by one, the Dao Ancestors launched their attacks. In an instant, universe after universe erupted like fireworks in Chaos, unleashing terrifying waves of chaotic energy. This surge of chaotic energy reached Dao Mountain, causing it to tremble.

Each universe’s destruction meant the annihilation of all life within it—countless beings perished in a single instant. For the Dao Ancestors, this was of little consequence, but for the beings within those universes, it was nothing short of the apocalypse.

Within Dao Mountain, the Dao Ancestors were alarmed, extending their spiritual senses to see beyond Dao Mountain’s boundaries. When they saw their subordinate universes shattered by beams of light, reduced to fragments, their rage knew no bounds.

Dao Mountain had long been the foremost power of the Dao Mountain Domain. Though the emergence of the Profound Void Ancient Realm had shifted the balance of power, Dao Mountain had aligned itself with the Heavenly Sea Sect.

Outside of the Profound Void Ancient Realm, Dao Mountain remained the leading force within the Chaos of the Dao Mountain Domain. Although other factions had banded together and their numbers of Dao Ancestors had grown, Dao Mountain held a unique advantage with its Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor. Thus, Dao Mountain retained the status of a Fifth Heaven force. The Starhorn Beast Clan, though it also had a Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor, lacked the depth of Dao Mountain in both Dao Ancestor numbers and resources, making it unfit to contend with Dao Mountain. The other factions were, at best, Fourth Heaven forces.

Therefore, Dao Mountain possessed both the pride and strength to deter any challenger. Yet now, someone had dared to invade their domain, destroying countless subordinate universes. This was a direct provocation, a declaration of war!

Boom!

One by one, the Dao Ancestors of Dao Mountain flew out from the Dao Mountain Domain, including Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain, the Domain Master of Dao Mountain.

The number of Dao Ancestors from Dao Mountain was extensive and shrouded in mystery, but now nearly all of them had come forth, totaling close to three hundred—a staggering sight.

What’s more, the quality of Dao Mountain’s Dao Ancestors was exceptionally high, unlike the Void Sky lineage, which was mostly comprised of First Heaven Dao Ancestors.

Here stood one Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor, nine Fourth Heaven Dao Ancestors, dozens of Third Heaven Dao Ancestors, nearly a hundred Second Heaven Dao Ancestors, with the remainder being First Heaven Dao Ancestors. Such a lineup could easily crush the Void Sky lineage, and even the Forbidden Palace fell short compared to Dao Mountain’s might.

Yet, in this moment, the Dao Ancestors of the Forbidden Palace showed no fear.

“So, it’s you, Forbidden Palace Master. You bring over a hundred Dao Ancestors here and have destroyed so many of our universes. Are you here to start a war with Dao Mountain?” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain demanded.

“Precisely!” the Forbidden Palace Master replied coldly.

“Think carefully!” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain warned. “If war breaks out, the Forbidden Palace may face total annihilation, and you yourself may fall!”

“Are you afraid?” the Forbidden Palace Master sneered.

“Laughable. Me, afraid?” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain spoke with dominating confidence, “I am the pioneer of cultivation in the Dao Mountain Domain, and I stand at the peak of the Fifth Heaven as a Dao Ancestor. Soon, I will step into the ranks of the Sixth Heaven Dao Ancestors. Why would I fear the Forbidden Palace?”

“Not afraid, are you?” The Forbidden Palace Master took a step forward, unleashing the aura of a Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor. “And now, are you still unafraid?”

“What? You broke through to the Fifth Heaven as a Dao Ancestor? Impossible! Your foundation is unstable, and there’s a significant flaw in your origin essence. There’s no way you could have advanced so quickly!” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain looked on in disbelief.

“Die!”

The Forbidden Palace Master wasted no further words, charging forward with a long spear in hand. This weapon was no ordinary weapon—it was a low-tier forbidden weapon. Over countless years, the Palace Master had ventured to the edges of the Dark Forbidden Domain, obtaining various forbidden objects. Coupled with certain forbidden artifacts the Forbidden Palace acquired from the Profound Void Ancient Realm, he had forged this low-tier forbidden weapon at the cost of most of his forbidden treasures.

Though of low rank, this forbidden weapon could amplify his combat power by at least fifty percent.

“You think I fear you?” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain also charged forward.

Although he had not yet broken through to the Sixth Heaven as a Dao Ancestor, his strength had grown considerably. Yet, as soon as he clashed with the Forbidden Palace Master, his expression changed dramatically.

Boom!

Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain was blasted back, the forbidden weapon spear piercing his body and leaving a bloody wound.

In this clash, Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain was clearly outmatched.

“Forbidden Domain, activate!”

Countless strands of forbidden power materialized into a Forbidden Domain, enveloping the area and trapping Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain within. The terrifying Dark Forbidden Power continuously invaded his body, repeatedly disrupting his physical form.

The Forbidden Domain was powerful, an ability that could only be activated by those with a small accomplishment in the Forbidden Body. Maintaining it, however, required a tremendous amount of Dark Forbidden Power. Ordinarily, no one wielding the Dark Forbidden Power would activate it unless in a life-or-death battle.

Yet, the Forbidden Palace Master didn’t hesitate, unleashing his strongest form to kill Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain suffered heavy injuries one after another, their powers clearly not in the same tier.

Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain’s strength was that of an ordinary peak Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor. However, after the Forbidden Palace Master had broken through, his combat power soared to the very pinnacle of the Fifth Heaven, thanks to the Dark Forbidden Power and his Forbidden Body. Without these enhancements, the Palace Master would only be a typical Fifth Heaven Dao Ancestor.

Meanwhile, elsewhere.

The Dao Ancestors of Dao Mountain and those of the Forbidden Palace engaged in fierce combat. Initially, it seemed that Dao Mountain’s Dao Ancestors, with their superior numbers and quality, would easily crush their counterparts.

However, an unexpected scene unfolded. The Forbidden Palace’s Dao Ancestors had brought nearly all of their resources, using various treasures to boost their combat power and employing numerous life-saving artifacts.

As a result, though the Dao Ancestors of Dao Mountain held the upper hand, actually killing the Forbidden Palace’s Dao Ancestors was challenging and would take considerable time. After all, when the power gap between two Dao Ancestors wasn’t too vast, killing one another was inherently difficult.

The Forbidden Palace Dao Ancestors had a simple plan—to delay as long as possible until their Palace Master defeated Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain.

Once the Palace Master was free, he could assist in killing Dao Ancestor Dao Mountains.

Days passed, and Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain’s injuries worsened with each battle.

Defeat seemed inevitable, and if no one came to his aid, he would eventually fall. Although he had pledged allegiance to the Heavenly Sea Sect, none of the Heavenly Sea Sect’s Dao Ancestors would be willing to pay the immense cost of emerging from their slumber just to save him. No one would come to his rescue.

“Forbidden Palace Master, let’s call a truce. I’m willing to offer treasures to compensate you!” Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain pleaded for mercy.

As the founder of the Dao Mountain Domain and its first Dao Ancestor, his request for mercy was an utter disgrace, shattering the reputation he had built over countless years.

“Begging for mercy? Dream on.” The Forbidden Palace Master replied coldly.

He dared not spare Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain. Should Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain break through to Sixth Heaven in the near future, he would no longer be an opponent he could contend with.

At that point, Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain would surely return for revenge.

The Palace Master had no intention of seeing that day, and thus, Dao Ancestor Dao Mountain had to die today.
