Doctor Tian asked her some more questions. "How are you feeling now? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

She shook her head.

"If anything feels uncomfortable, just speak up." The doctor’s voice was very gentle.

All Chenxing was aware of was a burning sensation in her head, accompanied by unease. "Am I really not going to die?" No matter how she saw it, it felt like her life was hanging by a thread.

Doctor Tian laughed: "Absolutely not."

He stood up, turned to Gu Shaocheng, and respectfully asked, "Sir, can we talk outside?"

"If I’m going to die, don’t hide it from me." Chenxing blurted out upon hearing this.

Gu Shaocheng was amused by her words. His face, however, looked a bit off. Reaching out, he patted her head, "Stop overthinking. Just wait here for me."

Then, he signalled Doctor Tian to go outside with him.

Closing the door behind them, Gu Shaocheng’s tone became abruptly cold, "Is there an antidote?"

"This is the most recent batch which is still experimental and we just did not have the time to develop an antidote. If we start working on it now, it might take about four to five days. In the case of Miss Ye, she can’t wait that long."

Gu Shaocheng was aware of this, which was why he felt frustrated.

This was the latest batch of medication to come out of the lab, freshly delivered to him. It had yet to be mass-produced, so an antidote was out of the question.

Doctor Tian did not view this as a difficult situation. He simply bowed slightly in a manner suggesting helplessness, "Sir, the effects of this drug are expected to last for about seven days. Your own experience with the experimental drug will help you understand its effects better, I will take my leave now."

"Come back!" Gu Shaocheng, feeling a headache coming on, called out. "Who told you to leave? I brought you here to offer a solution."

Doctor Tian paused: "You can’t possibly be asking me to—"

Gu Shaocheng narrowed his eyes sharply causing Doctor Tian to recoil slightly, then spread his hands in a gesture of helplessness: "Apart from this, there’s nothing else I can do here. Anyway, she’s your woman, isn’t she?"

Upon finishing, Doctor Tian, under immense pressure, bowed apologetically and slinked away.

It was a joke, he dared not take the initiative himself.

At this point, instead of wasting his breath arguing with him, the Sir might as well go back into the room and personally experience the effects of this batch of medicine.
