Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 361: Stubbornness
Jacob Jennings looked at Vincent Vance, stubborn as ever, and sighed helplessly: "Young Master, I’m only thinking about you, after all, everyone who gets close to May Morgan..."
"Get out!" Before Jacob could finish his sentence, Vincent abruptly commanded him to leave.
Jacob was well aware of Vincent’s temper, knowing it was useless to say more. Though Vincent usually appeared calm and wise, once he was emotional, he was more obstinate and determined than anyone else.
"Young Master, I’ve said all I can. Since you don’t want to hear it, I won’t bring it up again in the future. Please calm down, and if you need anything, just call for me—I’ll be outside."
Jacob sighed helplessly, turned around, and retreated from the hospital room.
Vincent glanced up at him, and only when he closed the door did Vincent, with a face full of disappointment, close his eyes and lie back in contemplation. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
He would not give up on May Morgan. It didn’t matter whether she was human or a demon, nor did it matter how long she could stay by his side. Life was too long; he only seized the day. As long as she returned to him, returned to his embrace, enjoying his indulgence, that’s all he needed.
But right now, the problems before him were numerous. Not to mention May’s background, just the situation with Victor Grant gave him a headache and was hard to handle.
There’s just five days left until Victor and May’s marriage. What could he do to make Victor give up on marrying May?
Vincent understood Victor’s feelings; that man’s love for May was no less than his own. Therefore, having Victor voluntarily give up on May was almost impossible, unless he killed him.
But even if he did kill Victor, May would never allow it. He remembered that she mentioned she owed Victor and the Grant Family when she left. As long as Victor hadn’t wronged her, she would not break the engagement or embarrass the Grant Family.
At the moment, the only way to break this marriage and have May willingly withdraw was to find Victor’s weakness and to show May his hypocritical side.
Vincent glanced down at his own body, still unable to move, and suddenly thought about the details of the car accident and explosion.
His eyes lit up, and he quickly called out for Jacob to come back inside.
"Jacob, how’s the investigation into the car accident going? Has the perpetrator been caught?"
Jacob shook his head and replied truthfully: "No, I’ve had the police investigate Logan Vance’s whereabouts, but the clues aren’t clear. I’m beginning to suspect we might be looking in the wrong direction."
"We certainly are looking in the wrong direction. On the day of the accident, a timed bomb was planted in the car. If I hadn’t discovered it in time, I would have been blown to pieces. On the day of the explosion, I wasn’t driving my usual car, but had just picked a random one from the garage to drive. If Logan had deliberately arranged it, he couldn’t have predicted that I would drive that particular car out that day. Hence, the bomb was placed on the car while I was en route."
"So, it seems there is another person who wanted to blow you up?" Jacob looked at Vincent in shock and urgently inquired: "On that day, you received May’s call, which led you to rush to intercept May and Victor at the Grant’s airport. It was a spontaneous decision to go out. If that’s the case, then only someone who knew your whereabouts in advance could have possibly set you up halfway!"
Vincent nodded in thought: "If I’m not mistaken, May called to tell me she was going to France with Victor to get a marriage certificate. Even though her words were full of mockery towards me, I could tell she loved me and hoped I would come to bring her back. Could it be that her words angered Victor, so that the person who wanted to harm me was actually Victor?"
Hearing this, Jacob suddenly looked at Vincent heavily: "Young Master, even if we find out it was Victor who hired someone to harm you, with our current strength, it might take a while to get revenge."
"No need, in four days at the earliest, I’ll restore the Vance Group to its normal status." Vincent took a deep breath, turned, and ordered Jacob: "Gather all the company’s shareholders over here; I want to hold a quick meeting in the hospital."
Meeting? Here? Jacob looked at Vincent worriedly, without moving: "Young Master, your current physical condition..."
"Go!" Vincent glared at Jacob displeased and ordered without allowing any objections.
Jacob had no choice but to shake his head and exit. An hour later, the shareholders of the Vance Group had all gathered.
Coming to see Vincent, they had complex feelings in their hearts because just before receiving the news that Vincent had woken up, they had held a private meeting at the company.
Everyone was aware that the Vance Family was in turmoil — Arthur Vance was dead, Vincent was in a coma from a gunshot, with his life hanging in the balance, perhaps like this forever. The Vance Family was left with Logan Vance, the second young master, whose performance in the company had been quite impressive. The company couldn’t remain stagnant, and business needed someone to maintain it. So these shareholders had basically discussed secretly whether to support Logan as the new acting CEO.
But now Vincent had suddenly woken up, and it seemed that both his thinking and body were all right, meaning the matter of Logan becoming the new CEO might be shelved.
Some were happy to see Vincent awake and leading, as they had worked well with him before. Yet others harbored malicious intent, completely hoping Vincent wouldn’t wake up, preferring Logan to take charge, as they had been bought off by Logan days ago.
"Young Master Vance, seeing you’re well, we can rest assured. Trusting the future of the company to you makes us feel more secure!" Those who were supportive of Vincent spoke excitedly upon seeing him vigorously appear before them.
Vincent looked up and swept his gaze across the room full of shareholders; indeed, there were those happy and those distressed. Though everyone’s faces showed smiles, some were genuine, and some were plainly perfunctory.
He chuckled deeply, thinking it was time to clean house.
"So, if I hadn’t woken up, were you planning to elect a new CEO to take charge?" Vincent smiled indifferently, deliberately asking them.
The shareholders exchanged glances, whereupon those supporting him quickly seized the chance and said: "That’s right, you were hospitalized, and some shareholders felt the company’s business couldn’t remain stagnant forever, especially with your grandfather’s sudden passing. A few shareholders then proposed that the Second Young Master, Logan, temporarily act as CEO."
After speaking, they deliberately pushed those who suggested Logan for CEO onto Vincent. These individuals didn’t have a good relationship with Vincent usually, and seeing Vincent’s cold expression, they were frightened out of their wits, shaking like leaves.
